Good Points: Fast, secure, best prices. Website is well laid out.

Bad Points: Will kill off a lot of small online retailers.

General comments: Having used amazon as both a buyer and a seller- I can say this is going to take over a lot of internet sales. It's light years ahead of the likes of e-bay, and now stocks a wider range of products whilst providing a real guarantee of security protecting buyers.On the seller side they are excellent with their customer services- I can an instant call back when requested from my seller account at no cost to myself.

Amazon.co.uk is where I purchase most items. Prices are very good and delivery always fast even with the Free Super Saver. Although the seem to be selling everything nowadays and perhaps taking away from other independant stores/sites, they are good at what they do. Hassle free ordering.

I must have bought over 50 products from Amazon which have always been the best or nearly best value on the market. All have arrived within reasonable time and all have been packaged well. If you can get hold of the number, their customer service section is pretty good too. Very unlikely to have a problem with this supplier. Very reliable.

Amazon have the widest selection of any website, the prices are often cheap and ordering is easy.However, the free delivery option is often incredibly slow, with orders sitting in the Amazon system ("we are preparing these items for dispatched") often for several days.Packaging is sometimes very poor (due to overstretched staff) - for example, large format books forced into boxes that are too small. I've used Amazon now for over 10yrs. And in that time it has improved considerably. They do have a wide variety of goods on there, and the opening up to other traders has improved the range of products.I've bought lots of things and never had to use their customer service so can't comment on that but all in all its reliable.

Amazon has over the years become my preferred online retailer. I always check the prices of several websites, but if Amazon are among the lowest I will buy there as long as I can get my free delivery (if I'm only buying one book I often go with Play.com as it's always free delivery). In previous years, I've suffered from slow pre-Christmas deliveries, but this year they seem to have sorted themselves out. Amazon is a very big company, but they haven't forgotton about customer service, they have just got everything right. Everything Amazon does is customer freindly, the prices are very good, and the service is fantastic never any problems, have the parcels delivered to my work address

I selected the free delivery option for a longer delivery period, but the item still arrived next working day! One things I noted about the DVD Reviews, it is VERY difficult to leave a negative review about a movie on Amazon. Only if you leave positive reviews will it get published.

I have found Amazon to be a great web site, and have bought numerous items either from them or through them over the past few years. They have always kept me up to date on my orders by email and I have never had any problems. I have saved a lot of money by buying from them. I can definitely recommend Amazon.

I ordered a plasma TV from Amazon and they accepted the order giving me a delivery date of about six weeks later. All fine. Near the delivery date they unexpectedly cancelled the order saying the product was 'unavailable'. However, not only were they selling the same product on their website, but also for 200 more than I ordered. I thought firms still had to fulfil existing orders - doesn't seem to apply to Amazon in my case!

My most recent purchase from amazon was my PS3. It was such a big purchase that I wen to amazon as I had not had any difficulties with them in the past. The item was easy to find and they had a great selection of offers. It cost me less than most other online sites and I had it delivered the next day. The only thing I didn't like was that the games and the console arrived separately, the games sent through standard mail. I was buying a new Microwave and Amazon had the one I was looking for they were also offering the best price for it (£34 cheaper than competitors) and free delivery. I searched the net in case there were any discount codes available and as luck would have it got one for £50 off any item over '£100. So £84 saved in Total. Excellent customer service. Discovered 2 nights ago that one of the DVDs in the box set i had ordered was a duplicate. Via the website (and very simply) organised for DHL to collect the box set the next day. This morning the brand new replacement arrived. No having to trek back to a shop or search for a receipt - no need to go to the post office and queue for a proof of postage. Thoroughly impressed.

We ordered 9 Xmas presents from amazon.co.uk in late November, all apparently in stock at Amazon itself - so far (end December) only 3 products have been received. Each one of these has been delivered in huge boxes with unbelievable amounts of packaging. Including a bracelet which was on it's own in a box around 2 feet square. I just wanted to share my experience about Amazon.co.uk. This year I have done all my Christmas shopping online with Amazon, spending in excess of over 1000. My experience was excellent with Amazon, even when a problem did arise, which incidentally was with a delivery and was out of their control. One parcel went astray, so I contacted Amazon who immediately dispatched a replacement.
