This is the biggest waste of money ever spent on any item anywhere in the whole world, keeps overheating and shutting off after just a few minutes then takes hours to cool enough for another few minutes use. its absolutely useless. Am going to contact Hoover directly for a replacement cleaner, this one sucks........but only for a few minutes. (read more)

Terrible, terrible, terrible do not buy this cleaner!!!
I bought it because my Dyson packed up after 10 years excellent service and thought that Hoover were supposed make excellent vacuums, I now know they don't.
Within one month the motor had to be replaced, and as if that wasn't bad enough it can't vacuum one whole room without cutting out and the filters needing to be cleaned, never mind a whole house!
After putting up with it for for six months I've loaded it into the back of car and am...

Where is the ZERO rating? I am not happy giving even one star!!!!! Mine cuts out after a few minutes of use. I keep it empty and the filter is always clean, but ............poof......off it goes, constantly! The plastic is melting. Also, it really does not work on carpets, only bare floors (not edges or corners without using the hose). I bought it because it looks nice and because it is Hoover. My past Hoovers have lasted many years and are still going strong, but I gave them to... (read more)

if only zero star ratings were possible....
we absolutely detest this hoover, it is the worst thing that we have ever bought and i own a french car.
it cuts out for 20 minutes at a time after cleaning one room as its poor design (the strange spirally bit)gets blocked with a anything other than air and this thing is designed for dog hair hahahhaha
we dont own a dog or have children but the filters still need cleaned constantly and emptied into a bin where we need to re hoover as the dust...

Poor suction, continual overheating (it actually melted the on off switch) and cuts out periodically. Power cord is too short and the rewind mechanism is way too powerful to the extent that can actually pull the power cord out from the socket.
I wasted money on this poorly designed cleaner. Only plus point for me are the aestethics.

nightmare hoover, blocks up with anything other than dust. The only people who this hoover i would recommend to would be someone without pets/children/visitors . I acutally hate this hoover with a passion. everything is akward about it the tubes, emptying the waste, how often it blocks ahhhh.... i used it for a week through guilt of buying it . If you need to buy a vacuum, go for a henry i wish i had done it years ago. (read more)

I am reasonably happy with it. I find it excellent for picking up the dog hairs (I have 3 dogs) but I seem to have to empty it at least twice every time I use it. (And I use it nearly every day) otherwise it just gets chocked up with debris. I find it unhygenic when it comes to emptying it into the bin. Dust seems to get everywhere. But I guess for the price its quite good value. (read more)

Way too heavy. Hoover has made vaccums for years but this one isn't made for every day use, not unless you would like to cancel your membership to the gym. However it picks up the dust good. I think if they would have made the Dust Manager Cyclonic not so heavy it may have gotten better reviews. Very hard to push too!! Will return it today. (read more)

Too light - topples over easily. Hoover Cyclonic Dust collection container clogs up easily before filling, peddal release poor, had to replace after a year or so, then replacement didn't fit as well as original. Excellent value hoover for the money. (read more)

I feel I have to keep an eye on the cleaniness of the filters and dustbox on my Hoover Dust Manager Cyclonic. The filter on the underside of the dustbox I power spray once a week to remove dust. The dustbox gets cleaned and the other two filters do too. Despite regular maintenance of the filters everytime I turn it on now within seconds I think I hear something inside flip up, it sounds to me like the noise you get when there is a blockage and it seems like the suction pulls whatever it is... The Hoover Dust Manager Cyclonic TC3827 Vacuum Cleaner was thoroughly disapointing, both my Mother and myself are dissapointed with its performance and she find the hoover heads stiff and awkward to remove, and she too finds the filter awkward and with light use it has needed repairing once after 15month and out of warranty. We wish we had not purchased this vaccum and waited and bought something else, perhaps another Dyson which although more expensive was at least reliable. (read more)

Do not buy the Hoover Dust Manager Cyclonic TC3827. I just cannot stress this enough. Not only does it create a massive racket, but the suction is terrible and the container system is outdated. You could have more success at cleaning floors sucking in rubbish from a straw than you can with this hoover. The hoover is good eye candy until you actually switch it on. (read more)

I brought a Hover Cyclone Dust Manager from a boot sale, as new, with tools, for £8, got home plugged it in and after 5 seconds the red light came on and hardly any suction, I checked filters, all clean, I took the plastic cassette out, shut down the cover, plugged in and what a suction I got. And I could not work out why, after 3 hours still any joy. So I now know I brought a dud and lost £8, 2 days later it came to me that the fault must be the plastic cassette dust box, on a close look... (read more)

My previous cleaner (by another firm) expired. The name "Hoover" suggested that this would good. It is the most disastrous domestic purchase I have ever made.
I wrote to both Hoover addresses in U.K. - no reply. I wrote to Hoover in USA - no reply.

I bought it for the pet hair tool but not only does this not work even the standard floor nozzle constantly releases hair on the carpet so that I need to pick it up by hand. Within 6 months the rewind cord stopped rewinding so I had to bring it in for repairs. The filter is impossible to clean and it is full by the second use. I would not recommend it and I am hoping it will break soon to replace it.
Too bad as the extension hose is the best feature. Still customer service was good.

I, like other reviewers, wish I had seen this Hoover Dust Manager Cyclonic TC3827 before. I went for what I believed was a reputable name, i.e. Hoover, & I've never experienced such rubbish. A complete and utter waste of nearly £100. My advice, buy a Henry instead! (read more)

This Hoover Cyclonic Dust Manager, the TC3827 model, is the worst vacuum cleaner I have ever had. Second use filter already blocked even though bag still looked empty. Filter now clogs up right away after few minutes use. Hand held hair attachment won't spin round anymore. The cleaner falls over and hits when you are using the hand tools. The hose won't stay in place. I hate it! (read more)

I purchased this Hoover soon after Christmas, this year, have previously had Hoover uprights and been very pleased with them, decided would try cylinder this time. I wish I had stuck to uprights, I am not happy with results after hoovering and it is very frustrating as I am now stuck with cleaner I do not like, having said that, I am still very much an Hoover advocate. Wish I'd come across this website before we'd bought this vacuum cleaner (hoover 1800w cyclonic 'freespace' dust manager). It is extremely noisy, which is just as well because then my daughter can't hear the swear words I come out with when I use it (she's usually run out of the room anyway). It doesn't suction anything heavier than dust - and even that seems to present it with a problem (empying it and cleaning filter makes no difference). It overheats, so badly that I can't hold the handle... (read more)

It is managing my moggy's hair with good suction power.
If you are allergic, You MUST NOT clean this machine as you would be covered with minute dust all over when emptying dust box and cleaning filters which you must do every time after hoovering otherwise it stops working.

I made a conscious decision to buy British with this...what a shame, and what a waste of money. It is so light to push, that it has no real pressure upon the floor. Something about the design makes my arm ache really badly when I use it. It literally sucks up nothing. You can Hoover over a bit of hair, and it just doesn't budge, despite being 2300w. And it's not because the bag/compartment is full, because it doesn't work when it's empty! The cheap plasticky innards which contain the... (read more)

Total waste of money - was unable to contact internet seller to return item. Would actively let others know how bad this vacuum cleaner is and advise them to select an alternative company I feel I have been 'ripped' off by an extremely inferior product, which is falsely advertised and does not live up to promotional detail. My 1800w Hoover TC3827 was bought new on September 23rd, 2005.
There have been 3 faults with it:
1) Variable power stopped working when it was 1 month old. Engineer called out and reconnected internal lever from control to motor. Problem solved.
2) Kept overheating during summer 2006: very frustrating and time-consuming! Consulted "User Instructions" book: unplugged it for 30 minutes every time this happened. Cleaning all the filters thoroughly and drying them properly did not cure this, so...

I said the new motor had cured the overheating of the Hoover Dust Manager Cyclonic TC3827 vacuum cleaner -- not true I'm afraid!

Today I was vacuuming dust specs off photographic negatives I was scanning, and the motor temporarily cut out due to overheating.

If you have one of these cleaners you MUST switch the motor off when you are not actually vacuuming. Never leave it running idle, not even for a minute. The hassle of switching on and off is not an inconvenience compared with having to stop for half-an-hour whilst the motor cools. Today is October 31st: it's not a hot day, and I'm not working in direct sunlight.

An update on the Hoover TC3827 overheating problem.

Today is November 25th, 2006. The TC3827 is being used outdoors (to clean the interior of my car as I'm taking it in for a service next week). The outside air temperature is 10C/50F, and the cleaner is away from direct sunlight: so why is it overheating after five minutes use (or 5 minutes on & off in a 10 minute period)? ...I then have to stop cleaning the car interior for 25 minutes whilst the TC3827 cools down (outdoors on a 10C/50F November day).

Hoover, overheating is a real problem on the TC3827, for your firms reputation and your workers jobs in Merthyr Tydfil, please modify this model!

This Hoover Dust Manager Cyclonic TC3827 is bagless, it collects the dust in a plastic cassette which pulls out from cylinder, there is a red light that were not sure whether it indicates when that the cassette is full or the filters need cleaning. We took it back to Comet and told them it has no suction and that this light is on constantly, they said we need to keep the filters clean and gave us new ones. When we got it back home we... Totally agree with you .. worst thing I ever bought. My old Hoover Alpina was a thousand times better. I actually phoned Hoover to complain but all they were interested in was rectifying faults. As it wasn't faulty as such, they didn't want to know. When I asked if other people had commented on the dreadful design and poor performance, they said I was the only one who had ever complained about it .. I think not :-(
