I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews, but we had a very nice weekend and would go again. Park resorts Cayton Bay is in a good position 10 mins max from both Scarborough anf Filey. We booked through the Sun newspaper and upgraded to a Gold caravan, the caravan was very nice,3 bedrooms when we only thought we would get two, a nice flat screen tv. All the quilts looked new (we took own covers after reading some of the negative comments about bedding)The cups, saucers, pans etc w ...

Have just had 4 nights at Cayton Bay Holiday Park in a silver caravan(£137,booked online).Excellent!Caravan was spotless,gas/electric on,beds made up.Entertainment excellent, teamstars hardworking and very friendly.Resident band'JINX',very good, seemed to enjoy themselves, even tho they must be getting fed up by now!Would recommend a gold caravan this time of year as this has heating in bedrooms.Pub across road'TOWBAR'is friendly with good food.Very clean site, only negative points are-No ligh ...

Just returned from park resorts Cayton Bay, checked in and got the key's.
Opened the door the carpet was filthy. We rang the office to tell them about the state of the carpet and the receptionist at the other end of the phone said "what do you want me to do". I told her the carpet wasnt fit for a dog kennel. She said "i will send house keeping round to look at it, he can use the machine on it to get it clean". After driving for 2 and half hours the last thing you want to do is have someone in wi ...

I nearly didn't take my family to Cayton Bay for a short break this weekend because the reviews here were so bad but I have to stand up for the place. I'd booked a Sun holiday and upgraded to a Silver extra wide for the sake of comfort. The check in was quick and pleasant and the caravan spotless and fresh smelling! The only problem we had was the TV didn't work due to lack of an outside arieal but this was fixed almost immediately. The entertainment, bar and restaurant staff were pleasant and t ...

Just returned from a week at Cayton Bay , stayed in a bronze caravan when we arrived at the caravan the smell of damp hit us straight away, we spent 2 hours cleaning the caravan, the evening entertainment was shocking, The resident band were fantastic and if they werent there the place would fall apart, teamstars all miserable except the entertainments manager who was great, the pool is more of a paddling pool about 2 foot deep, food in the resturant was shocking and staff all jobs worths, we left ...

Just returned from Cayton Bay Holiday Park on a 2 night camping trip and would definitely not go back camping there again. The toilet/shower blocks were always dirty even when cleaners had just been in , there was no soap for the whole two days!!
You couldnt park your car near your tents so it was a lot of hassle getting all your gear set up.
Night entertainment was very good especially the resident band. Staff on the park especially in the shop were NOT polite or helpful.
The toilets in the ma ...

Just come back from a 2 night "Camping" holiday at Cayton Bay Holiday Park and would not use this facility ever again. The pitches were right behind the shower block and complex. The toilets were clean but no soap to wash your hands - in light of the swine flu epedemic i would have thought that that was of utmost importance, i complained twice but got nowhere. There was nowhere to park your car next to your tent so you had to park in the "carpark" and cart your stuff over to your car and also th ...

we booked a bronze caravan through a 3rd party holiday provider, at Cayton Bay Park resorts, upon arrival we opened the door and it stunk - not a good start - we went in and found stained carpets - which looked like vomit which had splashed upon the fire place, mould spores all over the walls, windows and doors, cobwebs, crayon marks on the walls, poo stains in the toilet, a very nice insect collection on the inside of the front window, missing interior window fittings which when the wind blew th ...

I booked a holiday with Park Resorts at Cayton Bay. On the website there are pictures of their accomodation and a description of activities and facilities avaialble. Having looked at the pictures and choices of static caravans and activities available on the date we wanted to go, we decided on the silver option. So we arrived looking forward to a nice relaxing holiday. Unfortunately that isn't what we got. The caravan was small, the carpets were dirty and weren't fitted properly. The kitchen wa ...

Just returned from a very disappointing week at Cayton Bay. No space for kids to play in between caravans squashed in like sardines row after row, god help you if you end up in the middle of a row as you can't take your car there as there are designated parking areas. Caravan (supposedly Silver - I don't think so) was an owners van, don't know when it last saw a hoover or duster. Filthy beyond belief. Dirty egg cups, cheese grater, dish drainer and washing up bowl Yuk!. Biscuit wrappers and ...

First visit to a holiday park since I was a child and I was not very impressed, wouldn't go back to Cayton Bay Holiday Park. Caravan lovely and very clean though, thankfully. The soft play area was pretty dirty and smelt awful. My 2 boys enjoyed it (4 & 2). Unfortunately the rain poured for most of the week so that didn't help!

just returned from a very HOT week at Cayton Bay. We found the park very well kept, very clean & very enjoyable. I appreciate that we didn't go at peak times, but there was plenty of people around, but the park still felt peacful & quiet. The entertainment complex wasn't the biggest but had something for everyone.
Unsure as to why the park has had so many bad comments on this site. For a caravan park it was spot-on. From the unexpected phome call on the day before our holiday to inform us we co ...

Have just returned from a 4 day break with the Sun newspaper at this park and it was fantastic! The site is very clean, litter free and not shabby. The staff were very friendly. We upgraded to a God caravan and it was perfect, having three bedrooms ( a double and 2 twin). The only down side was that the bedrooms were pokey but they had ample cupboard space for your clothes, you just had to be organised and tidy!

Overall I think we had fantasitc value for money as it only cost us £30 eac ...

Just had a 4 day break with the Sun newspaper at Park resort Cayton Bay and wow! What a weekend. The fact that we had the hottest weekend on record regards weather - not a cloud in the sky all the time - helped, but the site is lovely and the gold caravan that we upgraded to was fantastic!
All in all it was a fantastic value for money holiday that cost 6 of us £30 each for the weekend! We'll definitely do it again with the Sun newspaper.

Having just returned from a weekend at Cayton Bay Holiday Park I would like to share my feelings on a wasted weekend, I took my daughter and two grandchildren for a 4 day break and had to come home after 2 nights, we booked a silver standard caravan on the Park Resorts internet site, on arrival we did not have a booking in pack so was sent to security, who were very heplful and sorted it out for us .The caravan was not what we had expected but as it was quite late we had to make do. The fridge h ...
