Overall very good kit. For the amount of money you won't get anything else close to a Mapex M Series. (read more)

High quality of sound from the Mapex M Series, I like the tone very much. The colour suits the kit very well and I do like its chrome fastenings. Out of date compared to drums in 2008. Overall a very nice set of kit, a pleasure to play (read more)

I love the mapex kit, I've had it for nearly a year now and am still loving it to bits! I found that with the right dampening, the bass drum can sound heavenly and the toms have the right tone to suit any style of music! With me playing repertoire varying from paul simon (steve gadd) to tenacious d (dave grohl / brooke wackerman) also the occasional slice of metal :) I believe that is the best kit for the price range its in and so does the reliable drummers magazine, Rhythm, so I can say... I purchased the 6 for 7 deal in the aqua lacquer finish. The kit looks real impressive under lights and with an upgrade to Evans g2 heads the toms are firing and the bass drum with the emad head is awesome. I have recorded with the Mapex M series and in the past i have been used to the sound of all maple shells, the birch is awesome and for a kit in this price range i am totally happy with the whole package. In that time nothing has broken or fallen off and the kit has kept its finish and stage presence. Have not needed to change any heads yet. Good value (under £500 from... (read more)

I have had my Mapex M Series drum kit for a while, and I like it. It's good! I've been playing for 6 years, and I still haven't put much of the set to its full potential. I never broke any heads on it and I play loud. It is sturdy and strong, and it's easy to assemble, so it wold be good for intermediate to professional players. But then again, it's the player who makes the musician good, not the instrument. (read more)
