“Appalling Service”

Written on: 10/05/2013

I bought a sofa costing over 2000 pounds earlier this year from SofaWorkshop and the service I received upon delivery was appalling. When I wrote in to complain, there was no apology and complete negligence of any wrongdoing. I would strongly suggest to anyone considering buying from here not to! (read more)

“Inferior quality overpriced sofa”

Written on: 05/05/2013

Bought a sofa from these guys and it was completely useless. Springs kept breaking over and over. Had the sofa repaired on two occasions, each time having to wait for weeks. They came and only fixed the springs that broke which is pointless when they were all put together wrong in the first place. Only a matter of time before the unrepaired ones will break again. The springs have come off yet again and now I am demanding for a full refund. Waiting to hear back from them. I would never... (read more)

“great service”

Written on: 26/02/2013

I can honestly say I find some of these reviews very hard to believe given my recent experience at sofa workshop. The staff could not have been more helpful from start to finish and the whole experience was pressure free and professional. We visited lots of places but only sofa workshop seemed to actually listen to what we wanted and went out of their way to try and help us find it. Couldn't be happier with the finished product my lovely 'George' sofa and sofa bed- perfect! (read more)

“Sofa Workshop ”

Written on: 25/09/2012

Do not be fooled by the contemporary designs and advertising that lure you into their unprofessional grasp. I purchased my sofa less than a year ago and it cost nearly 2K. I thought if I spend a bit more money this time, I'd get a good quality sofa that would last a good few years, but how wrong was I!! Sofa Workshop FAIL in customer service and quality of product. They argued that when the springs came away from their hinges, this did not suggest their sofas were of bad quality. They... (read more)

Hi there, I'm sorry you've had a similar experience! One thing I hate is being lied to..these people use the cheapest materials and the springs are key to a decent sofa, so I was horrified to be told by them that having faulty springs did not make the sofa of bad quality!! Ridiculous. I have it bad now and so far so good...but the moment anything goes wrong I have full entitlement to get my money back. I had to wait 2 months before I got my sofa back!!

“Very expensive, poor quality and worst service ”

Written on: 21/04/2012

Inaccurate advertising: I was drawn by the their winter sale and guaranteed delivery before Christmas. I paid the entire sum for the sofa just to be told a day later that they wont be able to deliver it on time. I was offered a further discount not to cancel the order which I accepted. The promised delivery date was the first week of January but the sofa was delivered only in the beginning of February. Quality: While the fabric is decent the zippers on the seats consistently pop. In... (read more)

“Lovely designs, bad quality, snooty store manager”

Written on: 17/04/2012

I personally think the sofa designs at sofa workshop are the nicest I've seen anywhere. Unfortunately I was unlucky enough to buy one just before the they went into receivership and then found a fault with the sofa fabric. I understand this causes problems with the guarantee so wrote a letter to sofa workshop to see if there was anything they could do. They sent me 50% of future sofa's. Unfortunately buying the sofa in the first place was a bit of a stretch and this discount was on the... (read more)

“Broken frame ”

Written on: 28/12/2011

Lovely sofa bought in 2007. Superbly comfortable and loved by entire family. However recently began to sag badly at one end. Unpicked underside sackcloth covering to see what was wrong. Shocked by what I found. Quality of wood used in frame was very poor, like matchwood. Frame had broken, pulled inwards by the springs. In some ways pleased since frame is covered by guarantee whereas springs are not. Called sofa workshop but to my dismay I found that in 2009 they had gone into... (read more)

Written on: 29/03/2011

Promised a sofa in 4 weeks, paid a 50% deposit, it took 16 weeks. I had to phone them repeatedly to get any information. I told them I was disappointed and asked for a small recognition of their failure to meet delivery timescales as promised. I was told "either pay the remainder or lose your deposit" and "anyway it has only taken 16 weeks we don't pay compensation until it's over 24 weeks"

So why did you tell me it would only take 4 weeks to deliver when I ordered then? Don't touch... (read more)

Written on: 26/01/2011

After visiting most of the Sofa Stores in Tottenham court Road, I visited the Sofa Workshop.

My first visit I was helped by a very skilled Sales Man. A credit to his profession. Did not hound me around the store, but responded to each and every question or concern I had.

On my second visit I was sold to by the same Sales Man. Who was once more helpful. I was disappointed that my Sofa would not arrive before Christmas, and the delivery time was a bit long.

Between paying for the Sofa... (read more)

The furniture itself and the service in the shop were excellent, the problem is with their delivary set up. Totally inflexible, and not geared to people who work for a living. I had to change a holiday to fit in with their schedule. (read more)

Had a sofa from sofa workshop and it seemed fine the sales people were very friendly and helpful. Upon delivery sofa seemed well made and sound, but after the delivery gentlemen had left I noticed a problem with the sofa so called the relevent store. This is when things rapidly changed and the friendly staff went to being completely unhelpful and quite rude. The problem I had wasn't a serious problem just a wonky leg. After some tussling and arguing on the phone the member of staff said he... (read more)

Written on: 27/10/2008 by Nobbie (3 reviews written)

I have just had delivery of my new sofa and I love it. I find the reviews on here quite unbelievable from my own experience which was great.
I purchased the Tom Foolery from the Manchester store and had wonderful service from start to finish.
It certainly wasn't cheap at well over £2000 but we had the bespoke service choosing everything from size to fabric, we even had the footstool altered to a size to suit us(something they hadn't done with the stool before) and it all looks and feels as... (read more)

Written on: 23/10/2006 by lrw (1 review written)

We ordered our sofas on the 25th of July from Sofa Workshop, to be told they'd be delivered within 6 - 8 weeks. After not hearing anything after 8 weeks, I called to find out what was going on. The delivery time changed to 10 - 12 weeks. After another few weeks I called to be told that there had been an issue with the fabric and now the completion date was the 16th of October. I called on the 16th and completion date now 23rd of October, called today and still not complete. Hoping to be... (read more)

“I ordered a Sofa bed from the Sofa Workshop on 27th...”

Written on: 20/06/2006 by bahhead (1 review written)

I ordered a Sofa bed from the Sofa Workshop on 27th April 2006, and I have now been told that it will not arrive until the week commencing 31st July. This is totally unacceptable, as it is not within the 6 to 8 week delivery date that I was given when I agreed to pay delivery charges and the price of the sofa.

I was also not informed about the delay in delivery dates for this sofa, which is again unacceptable. To make matters worse, on the 20th June 2006, I was the one that had to call the... (read more)
