I have owned my Kahr PM 40 since 2005. It broke 2 followers and Kahr promptly replaced without asking a question. It is not a Glock, nor was it designed to be and it has a hell of a kick, so you need a tight grip. It is accurate and is easy to use. I have spoken to Kahr and they recommend a good 185 gr. ammo or low pressure ammo. I use Winchester or Remington and not reloads. My buddy bought a new Taurus that is almost an exact copy of the gun except for the safety. Imitation is the... (read more)

Stay away from Kahr Firearms. I'm an FFL Dealer and the firearm has problems. Quality Control problems at the manufacturer. If a self-defense firearm does not fully chamber a round - the firearm is useless and a liability. (read more)

I have looked at hundreds of guns for concealed carry, and in my opinion, unless you want to carry a little revolver, this is by far the easiest semi to conceal I have seen. (read more)

Picked up my Kahr Arms PM40 about two weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. I bought it used and the dealer said he personally knew the previous owner, and that it had around 250 rounds through it (it viewed this as a plus because it saves me the 200 rnd break in). Since then i have put close to 300 rnds through it with only 3 ftf which i claim responsibility for due to limp wristing. I corrected the problem after the first two mags and its has shot flawless ever since. The size of the gun... (read more)

I bought this pistol and shot 150 rounds from it today, I LOVE IT. not one ftf or fte, it worked flawlessly.
Kahr recommends a 200 round breakin, but I hand cycled the action 200 times before my trip to the range.
I was cautioned about the recoil from a buddy who carries a pm9, but the recoil was entirely manageable, and accuracy very acceptable for a pistol of this size.
Shoots a bit low and left, but a heavier bullet and an adjustment on the drift sights should fix that

I have the PM9, PM40 and PM45. All are excellent guns. I keep the bullets light in the 45 and recoil is not bad but both the 40 and 45 are slower than the 9 to get a follow up shot. (read more)

I had a few of the same initial problems with the PM40 out of the box that a lot of others seem to have, but couldn't be happier with the gun now that it is broken in. They are very tight when new, and I had a few issues with failure to feed. I have read that a lot of this is caused by not holding the gun tight enough, or "limp wristing" it.
Break in is through now, and I couldn't be more pleased. Gun is extremely accurate, and not just for it's size. Great gun, but you have to work...

Don't be cheap get the night sights. Be prepared to polish the barrel both the chamber, ramp, and the exterior. Polish the interior of the slide where the barrel and slide touch, re angle the magazine spring at the top to keep the front of the follower pointed up. Also inspect the trigger bar behind the 'burst panel' it may need a thin shim to keep it totally reliable. When the function properly these are great pistols, but they do need some finishing work and some slight custom work to make... (read more)

Kahr recommends firing 200 rounds before carrying for breakin. During this time I experienced one fail to fire. I am happy with mine, hope you enjoy yours as much. (read more)

This Kahr Arms PM40 is one heck of a piece. It even comes with a polished feed ramp. No ftf thru 1st 100 rounds with hp's or ball. Has slightly more kick than a P40. Any person with a firm grip should handle it. Would give it a 10 but then, that's perfect. Can't wait for a PM45. I wish P & PM series would come with accessory rails & taurus style safety lock. P40 mags will fit but PM40 5 shot won't fit in P40. Spend a little more for the night sights, a very important thing for a carry piece... (read more)

Where do I start. I will NEVER recommend a Kahr Arms pitol to anyone. I bought the gun brand new. I went to the range to break it in, and on the very first shot, the slide stayed open. I closed it back, and it did this for the first 12 shots (2 clips) I went through until I realized, the spring on the slide return lever was bent. I had to bend it back to even get the gun to work correctly, or so I thought. After 100 rounds, I probably had around 10 times where the slide stayed open even... (read more)

I purchased a new KAHR PM40 handgun last Friday from a dealer in Northern Indiana. I have fired 450 rounds through this gun and it is averaging approximately 2/5 jams and "non-chambering" incidents per 5 round clip and approximately 3/6 in the six round clip. This handgun is complete garbage. I purchased my wife a KAHR PM9 at the same time. It appears to be a very good reliable hand gun through 450 rounds.
