Good Points: Looks cool, good manufacturers back up, good performance on certain carpets.
Bad Points: Noisy, badly designed, difficult and very cumbersome to use, heavy, regardless to what the adverts say it DOES lose suction if the filters aren't cleaned weekly, overheats and cuts out if used for too long, dirt goes everywhere when you empty it.
General comments: I've tried a few different dyson models and none of them have been great. Firstly, I don't think the adverts are always clear as the Dyson relies heavily on filters and if these filters aren't cleaned regularly, you can expect a loss of suction, overheating and cutting out and in really bad situations spectacular motor burnouts.
Overall the DC14 was 'ok' it performed well on shorter carpets and hard floors but was impossible to push on thick pile ones, the tools are every difficult and cumbersome to use because the vacuum itself kept falling over and the noise is deafening.
I'll be sticking with my 18 year old Henry for now me thinks!

OK for large open area but as soon as you have clean the stairs or behind the TV etc I had to fight with the machine, also very heavy to carry up and down stairs. Only plus point is the lack of a dust bag but I intend to go back to the old technology. Only bought one of these because of the all the hype! My old Electrolux cylinder cleaner worked great, think I will try another or a Miele.

I am extremely disappointed with my Dyson DC14 all floors, with all of the hype of never loosing suction, and the price I was sure that I would have a vacuum that i would love and that I can rely on. This is probably one of the worst vacuums i've ever owned, I have to go over my floor at least 4 times and really slow and it only picks up the surface things. I have called customer service to see if they can help but they can't. I am annoyed and I will never buy a dyson again. Not worth the money. ...

Not worth the money. It worked well for only two months. Like most reviewers we got to the point of cleaning filters, etc weekly and its performance just got worse. I can't wait to sling the thing on the tip.

We cleaned the pre filter at least once a week. After trying this the vacuum still reaked so we tried taking all of the removable parts off of the vacuum and taking apart the dustbin and we blew everything out with our air compressor. The last two years we have had to blow the whole machine out every week and still the suction was going down and the vacuum still stunk. Over time the little rubber seals that are on all of the plastic parts start to wear out and they make the vacuum lose suction. ...

Don't bother spending such an amount on a run of the mill vacuum. This company's internet customer support seems to assume you are a complete idiot who can't read the manual that comes with the machine. I purchased a Dyson in 2003 largely based on their advertising. We had only one dog at the time. In less than 2 months of weekly vacuuming, the performance dropped substantially. We clean the filter and bar on a WEEKLY basis with no discernible improvement in performance. This vacuum is ver ...

Out of all the vacuums I have owned over the years (and I have owned many) this Dyson DC14 for All Floors is by far THE BEST one yet. Set up was very easy, everything just clicked in place and it took me just a couple of minutes to get it going. The best part? The suction without a doubt. It has the strongest suction I have ever encountered with any of the vacuums I have owned. I easily picked up 2 canisters full of dirt, dust, lint and human hair. I do not have any pets so I opted for the ...
