    Blue light stopped working within months and now the window leaks water out onto the electric base, a total hazzard and someone could die from this, these should be recalled.

    I think the Breville JK85 is smart and saves water also makes one realise how very heavy other kettles especially when filled with water. light to pick up and economical and if it could be made quieter would be perfection.

    My Breville JK85 is continually switching off only seconds into the boil cycle, kind of frustrating returning to a cold kettle!

    First one replaced after 8 months - base plate failed

    Replacement lasted 13 months - auto cutoff failed

    Homebase Portishead could not help - said no longer stocked

    We bought a stainless steel kettle after various problems with plastic kettles. All was fine with the Breville JK85 for a few months, then I noticed drips of water under the kettle, which I couldn't trace until one morning. The kitchen floor had flooded from the water left in the kettle overnight. It's now clear to see drips of water from under the plastic viewing window where it meets the stainless steel.

    Overall, I could not recommend this kettle, and I am now on the search for a new one - ...
