Good Points: Gripping storyline and plot

    Bad Points: None

General comments: The Green Mile DVD has been around everyone in the family, and they all loved it. It is a bit emotional at times, but this is a really special film that everyone must see. Highly recommended! I don't want to say anything more about it as that would spoil the enjoyment!

Green Mile is the worst film Tom Hanks and Sidney Poitier have ever starred in. If you want to spend a whole day wasting your precious time, then by all means ignore this review and hire this painfully long DVD - I did warn you!

Tom Hanks stars in this second prison drama adapted from a story by Stephen King and directed by Frank Darabont. 5 years after The Shawshank Redemtion, Darabont once again hooked up with King for another film fable set in a prison. Although lacking the 1994 films depth, The Green Mile is a grand film that contains moments of high emotional intensity. The story is told as a flashback by an kindly old man in a retirement home. similar to how another Tom Hanks film, Saving Private Ryan was told ...

I loved 'The Green Mile' from the second I watched it. Many people had recommended it to me and I could see why. Its one of those classic films where you will laugh and cry. This film is one of Tom Hanks best and I am suprised many people have still not seen it.

All i can say is 'wow', Get this film out on dvd and watch it. The whole idea was brill. It touches on the truth of raceism in the penal system. Even today things like this happen where people are judged. Trust me watch it you will love it.

A really good film with the traditional message of what you see on the outside may not be what the person is like inside. Tom Hanks is brilliant as the warden of death row, and Michael Clarke Duncan gives a spirited performance as the rather retarded man accussed of murder. All is not as it seems however and the plot soon takes on a spiritual nature. Although not edge of the seat stuff it kept me engrossed for the duration of the film, and always a good sign I would watch it again.

What a strange film. The Green Mile is one of those films that seems to have a hidden message about life but leaves you confused what the message is. That said, It is still an excellent film. Tom Hanks plays a prison warden who mixes with good and bad prisoners and prison wardens.
