Be careful of the pictures shown on webpage, as may not seem the actual colour of the product that actually arrives. I ordered prescription glasses thinking they were brown (as per colour on webpage), especially when compared to colour writing next to it which was Black. Guess what colour the glasses were that arrived, Black. Thank you for your comments.

We are very sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding your order.

Having looked into your order we can see that the black frame was ordered and therefore this is what was supplied to you.

We have also looked into the image and description on our website and both the image and description confirms Black.

When placing an order for a prescription item, terms and conditions do need to be confirmed by yourself - one of which clearly states "I accept that prescription glasses are only returnable within 14 days in perfect condition and only the frame component of the glasses can be refunded."

As this was agreed at checkout by you and as the ordered item was correctly sent we can only refund the frame aspect.

Your refund for the frame is due to be processed on Thursday.

Once processed an email will be sent to confirm this and dependent on who you bank with it can take up to 72 working hours to appear as available funds.

In the meantime, should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

“Really poor product, and refusing to acknowledge their...”

Unfortunately had a really poor experience. I ordered prescription Ray Ban sunglasses with a polarized lens (I don't have a particularly strong prescription - just -2). When they arrived, the coating on the lenses protruded significantly, leaving a gap of several mm in the brown coating between the lenses and the frame (ie a clear gap rather than the brown lens abutting the frame). I can confirm we do have the correct equipment to be able to glaze this frame and our technician does effectively glaze this particular frame on a regular basis. “Poor product and customer service ”

I order the Fossil grant watch for my boyfriends birthday and was very excited to give him this. I can confirm all items are checked twice prior to dispatch to ensure they are in perfect condition. We would not have sent this to you if the watch wasn't working properly. Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I do not believe the product was damaged in transit due to the fact as previously stated that there was no plastic attachment on the watch which you pull to get the battery started. When I first phoned to report that I had just received the watch and it was not working this is the first thing I was told, pull the plastic bit to start the battery and I said what plastic bit and the response was oh. I have asked on numerous occasions if the watch was checked by 2 people before it left then why was this not picked up and where was the plastic bit? Please answer as nobody else has been able too?

I did receive my refund thank you however I am still waiting on my postage refunded which has been nearly 3 weeks now?

“Partial refund”

I can confirm we are only able to refund the cost of the frames on prescription orders. As lenses are bespoke items we are unable to refund the cost of the prescription lenses.

All items are checked thoroughly, on two occasions, before dispatch to ensure that they are in perfect condition before they are sent out.

Our warehouse manager assesses all returns and checks they are in perfect condition before any refund will be issued. No fault was found with the prescription lenses and on this occasion this is the reason you have not received a refund for the lenses.

Having looked into your order I can see the sunglasses were sent to you on 06.05.2014. We do need to be made aware of any faults with items received within 7 days of your receipt.

I can see we spoke with you on 25.06.2014 and you advised the item was received faulty and you wanted to send this back for a refund. As you were well out of the returns policy we did offer a good will gesture and asked you to return the item for further assessment.

When we received the item back and this was assessed this was deemed to be accidental damage, all items are checked twice prior to dispatch and we do not believe they would have been sent in this condition to you, the sunglasses showed heavy signs of wear and the manufacturers code had also been rubbed off the frame. The frame also had make up marks on the frame and the lenses were also marked.

As a result, we were unable to accept these back and these have now been sent back to you as per your request.

I do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We are extremely sorry to hear of your disappointment regarding your ordering experience here at Shade Station.

When placing your order our website should have shown 3-5 days, this is because we were awaiting a delivery of this from the manufacturer. I am very sorry if this was not noticed at the point of sale.

When we came to process your order and chase the delivery with the manufacturer it was then that we were informed the frame was on backorder and it could be between 2-3 weeks before it arrived back with us. As soon as we were informed of this we contacted you immediately.

As we are an online based company the money is automatically deducted from your account - this is to ensure the funds are not used elsewhere - preventing any unwanted bank charges.

As you cancelled your order on Tuesday afternoon your order was passed to our accounts department but, as you are aware, a refund was not processed until the Thursday.

All refunds are processed on Mondays and Thursdays of each week and I am extremely sorry if you are not happy with this - I have passed your feedback to our accounts department to see if this can be looked into and improved upon in the future to prevent any further disappointments.

Once a refund is processed it does depend entirely on who you bank with regarding the length of time it takes to reach your account as available funds. We do advise our customers it can take up to 72 working hours to appear as available funds as a maximum time scale only.

As customer service advisers our team are unable to confirm the managing directors names - we do advise should you wish to form an official complaint to do so in writing for the attention of the customer service's manager.

We strive to offer the best possible customer service and we can only apologise for the disappointment and frustration you feel.

“Breach of consumer rights - terrible customer service”

I can assure you that we work well within the Sales of Goods Act and, as a company, we have the right to offer a refund, exchange or repair.

If an item becomes faulty whilst in your possession we do ask this to be returned to our head office in Manchester, this is regardless of if the watch was received within one week or one year.

We do need to assess the watch just to ensure it has not been subject to wear and tear or any accidental damage as on some occasions customers can return items to us that have been mistreated. I am extremely sorry if this was not communicated to you correctly.

Having looked into the order I can see that a full assessment and refund was processed within one week of you returning your watch to our store in Leeds as it was deemed a faulty item was sent to you.

All items should be checked twice before dispatch so I am unsure as to how the watch was sent to you in this condition but I am extremely sorry for any disappointment caused.

I have ordered two Versace Ladies Watch via Amazon UK on large discount price and got two worthless quartz watches.Shade Station admitted that it was wrongly delivery but refused to exchange order and compensated for their mistakes. They just ask me to return it with refund up to £10.00 for returns postage. Their explanation is just excuse for not to fulfill the order. I ordered 3 pairs of (expensive) sunglasses so I could chose between styles and colours. I chose ShadeStation because they promised "no hassle returns". I received the parcel safely and opened the well packaged boxes. I opened the RayBan case on the first set of glasses, looked at the colour and didn't even try them on. Here at Shade Station we strive to offer the best possible customer service and this does include a no-hassle returns policy.

Providing the item is returned within 14 days of receipt in perfect, unworn condition with all of the original manufacturers packaging a full refund or exchange will be processed.

All items are checked thoroughly, on two occasions, before dispatch to ensure that they are in perfect condition.

On occasions, small marks can be missed or the parcel can be damaged in transit and to protect you, our terms and conditions do state that we must be informed within the first 7 days, of your receipt, of any damage to the frame to ensure a speedy, hassle-free return.

Our warehouse manager assesses all returns to ensure that they have been returned in perfect condition, in this instance unfortunately it was not the case and they did find damage to your frame.

The damage on the frame would not have been missed before dispatch nor done in transit and as a result we were unwilling to accept these back into stock.

I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment caused to you. Our intention is never to frustrate our customer and I can only offer my sincerest apologies for the way your return was dealt with.

We do hope that, in time, you may wish to shop with us in the future.
