Some mixed reviews here, I have to say our experience was first class !

We were helped by "Dan the Man", nothing was too much trouble and there was no hard sell. Everyone was really friendly and it made buying a car easy instead of a chore.

We got the car checked out by an independant garage afterwards and they couldn't fault it. We also bought the Diamond Polish which has been worth every penny - keeps the car looking in showroom condition.

Would thoroughly recommend them !!

Having recently bought a car from the Car Shop i stumbled across this site. Seems like some unhappy customers, unlike myself. Car was good, service was good, tea was rubbish. I work in sales and it seems that you get complaints from customers when they are not in full control of what they are buying, i have walked round their site, what a nightmare!, i was happy that someone could help. Reality check needed for some people, they are just doing their job. P.S dont ask for a cup of tea.

CUCUSTOMER SERVICE IS A COMPLETE JOKE. Do not waste your time going to the store you as you will be harassed by desperate salesmen from start to finish. If you make the mistake of buying from them take copious notes of everything they say and get names as they will deny anything that is not in writing. They will not admit to any mistakes and the customer service is non existent. I found a Mini I wanted to buy online and it was at Northampton, bonus as that's where I live! Arranging the test drive and viewing couldn't have been easier and the sales guys were quite happy to let me take it for a good spin. Car was clean throughout and had everything working as per description. They even gave me a valuation for my car which had just been written off which meant I could see exactly what I could afford.

DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!! They are complete waste of time, brought a car from the Swindon Branch as seen it online, they drove it up to me to test drive ( only after paying them £450), the radio didn't work they said no problem will get Northampton to fix it and clean it before you collect it. Waited 1 week for someone to call to say i could collect, no-one did! Spoke to Northampton all i got was will call you back in 10 min, i got this for 2 days! We bought a car from The Car Shop Megastore about 7 years ago; it's been very reliable, very good and because we'd had a previous good experience it was the first place we went back to. We looked at a few dealers as well when we were looking for the used car and it's very clear that the prices here are cheaper than the main Audi/VW dealership, so I think if anything Prices are, as they say on the website, competitive if not guaranteed best price for the cars that they sell.

Such a long drawn out process where thet just try to sell you stuff. The more you try to leave the worse they get!
Why cant i just buy a car, hand over my money and leave? One Manager treats everyone as if they are stupid and is very patronising.

Having bought vehicles from London to Timbuctoo this is the place to go. The Car Shop Megastore has a big selection, excellent efficient staff, Most Important - RIGHT PRICE. Will be back as I have 3 Daughters all nearing Driving age so time spent searching will be minimal and after this experience will buy with confidence.

I went into The Car Shop Megastore, to view two BMW Z4's, the sales guy gave me a good run down on the comparrsions etc. After a test drive I had my car! The overall service was excellent, the guys were very fair and I have the car I've been after for quite some time!!

3rd car I've bought from the car shop. It was a tough choice between a BMW Z4 or a Focus ST, test drove both and fell in love with the Z4! The sales guy helped the decision with a fact comparison on the two but my heart ruled my head. The car is great and the customer service was excellent!

The Car Shop Sales staff were really pushy, they tried hard to get a £450 deposit out of me, because the car had to come from the Northhampton depot. I have heard lots of stories about people who have lost thier deposits. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Sales manager had an attitude problem, I could only stick him for about 5 mins, before telling him where to go.

The Car Shop Megastore.
Now then, I tend to avoid these types of places anyway, but they were the only place which seemed to have the exact car that we wanted to buy ... basically they are your typical, sales people who, actually, don't always tell you the truth and omit bits of information if they possibly can. I went to view 3yr old hatchback at the Car Shop Megastore with the view to buy if i saw one i liked.I was met by a salesman who asked what i was looking for and he showed me into the showroom where he asked questions on price, year, how doors, engine size etc. He then OFFERS you an inflated price if he can get it passed knowing that they would offer next to nothing i.e. £1200 offer actual £210, but this happens after test driving the said new car, by that time you have tested it upt ...

paid The Car Shop Megastore deposit for car and agreed to collect car 7 days later after worked was carried out[mouldie seatbelts,blowing exhaust].arrived to collect the car and guess what,it was still parked in the same spot where we left it completly untouched.we took the car and had the work done ourselfs.a big company,with good prices that pull the crouds,after that it goes quickly

Thought the Car Shop megastore site was well laid out and the staff were very helpful. Purchased a Saab 9-3 which I love, after 6 weeks the engine management light came on. I called customer services and spoke to a very helpful chap who advised me to take the car to a local Nationwide garage for a warranty repair. The car was repaired in a day and all paid for by the car shop.

All in all great after sale service!

Visted the Car Shop Megastore in November 2008 looking for family car and found them to be a decent operation. a salesman does greet you from your car but it is a big sight and i didn't really know what i wanted do didn't mind this too much.

Let down Worse company i have ever had to deal with. Brought an Audi A3 from the car shop megastore
Air Con didnt work, I had to have a new exsort and brake disk and pads. The car shop refused to pay towards repairs. Brake downs happened straight away after buying. Taken them to trading standers. The finace copany they use Santander arnt helpful as they dont want to loose face sith the car shop. Be warned.

Went down to buy a car a bmw m3 from The Car Shop Megastore, was told it was at another branch but they would get the car here (northampton) for £450 deposit so foolishly i paid two days later i returned to look over the car to find it was still not there. They give me all the gobbled gook one man can take and said "we do anything to keep are customers happy" ie It was are mistake we will look after full tank of fuel etc etc if you choose another car from us.
So yet again i trusted them ...
