Bad Points: Sales staff very pushy. Business managers worse! They would try and sell you rubbish finance to buy a loaf of bread never mind a car. Prepare to be annoyed and ripped off unless you're careful. p/x prices also very low (despite what they say) to make up for any good deals available.
General comments: Generally cheapish prices. Easy to browse around vast array of cars although you have to fend off the sales people!
Pretty cheap but some staff can be pushy. If you know exactly what you want and stand your ground you can risk a purchase. Otherwise only visit to compare many cars at one location.

We bought 2 vehicles from them and have had nothing but trouble with both. They have been back for them to fix on numerous occasions, only to be told they can't find a fault. I have had to go to other garages for their diagnosis and push for the Car Shop to do something about it. Very unreliable with customer service. This saga began in November 2007 and still ongoing. Please avoid for your own sake.

Found car we were interested in, asked about service history, how many keys and about cam belt as quite high mileage etc, was assured all there cars come with full service history and book and documents were to follow as they had only just got car, agreed trade in and paid deposit,

Went to this dealer for the first time to find a 4x4. Was shown a 53 reg by a salesman which on the face of it looked a great deal, it had very high mileage, but was in great condition and a good price so we took it for a test drive. The salesman said he always had 4x4's (similar to the one we were test driving) and swore by them. When we asked about what the yellow button did on the gearstick he did not have have a clue! and proceeded to read the manual for ages.

Chilled water, good. They gave me a list of 16 cars and when I asked where they might be they said "anywhere, go and look"! I got in my car and drove home.

There may be a small saving to be had over dealer prices, but I would pay this for better service and peace of mind in future. We were only after a small cheap runaround so weren't too fussy (and a bit naive/trusting) but would not recommend this place. At the very least, check the history book and number of keys before agreeing any purchase!

I really can't tell you any good points, save for the fact they gave me a cup of free coffee.
Complete waste of time. I went there without a specific car in mind and wanted to have a good browse and find a nice bargain.
From the moment you arrive you are herded by several guys in the car park into the office so you don't get a chance to look at the cars yourself at all.
They sit you down, take some details of what you're looking for and come back with a list of 10 cars, 1 of which suits ...

Nigel, the manager at The Car Shop Megastore in Northampton, was very polite and knew his job very well. P/x 2 vehicles in for one 18 month old Jag and some cash back. He was more than fair with p/x prices and even had one of his colleges drive back 110 miles with me to pick up the other p/x. I would recommend and will deal with again in the future.

Various mistakes made from the Car Shop business manager throughout the deal.
(ie) Didn't know correct procedures on transfering cherished number over etc, etc, etc.
Vehicle was not given a full service as part of the deal as agreed.
Floor mats were in the car on day of viewing and on collection of vehicle were missing.(told by customer services, they "dispose of them on health and safety grounds" !!!!!!.
