Have used car supermarkets before so know what to expect. The story goes, saw a car via website & went to view at the Doncaster branch knowing that I was going to buy the car providing the part ex on mine was met. My husband saw a vw tiguan at the car shop northampton whilst he was working up there, he spent 2 hrs sorting out a deal, first impressions were good sales guy helpful.The car had only arrived a day ago and hadnt been cleaned, it stunk of dog and needed a few bits doing to it, such as wheel refurb, stone chips, service and the parcel shelf was missing, so we were told it would be a week before we could collect. They bug you constantly and wont leave you alone to browse. once you find a car you like and sit with them to arrange purchasing it they insist you watch a video about protection for the paint and fabric, even when you say you are not interested. they try and sell you finance even when you have said you want to pay cash. then after going through that they rang me an hour before i was due to collect to say they hadnt got a v5 and that they were waiting to receive it from headquarters. the... Never pay them anything to bring a car to your local showroom, £200 we deposited. Over 5 weeks since we decided it was not right for us and still no refund. Chased repeatedly and always get a promise of it being resolved but never is. Doncaster showroom has poor customer service, dealt with 3 individuals and each has let us down. I rencently purchased a Fiat500 from CarShop I was met by a gentleman. Even though the site was extremely busy her was very through and very helpful in all his dealings. My son also came along to look at the car and he agreed a very helpful and nice chap. I've just bought my third car from the car shop in 10 years and I have to say that the overall buying experience was pretty good. They have an excellent website and if you find the car you want you can call them up and arrange to come and see it, or you can just turn up on site and browse the stock. After reading numerous bad reviews I was sceptical about using Carshop. I had bad credit and I wanted an Audi A3. So with that combination I had been subjected to all sorts of sleazy sales stereotypes across the Midlands telling me "we're your only option." The sales associates even arranged for me to be picked up at work on the day I was to pick up the car, which was incredibly helpful. I have had my Fiat 500 for around 4 months now and i have never had a problem with it, they gave me Gard X which protects the paint and fabric which has worked really well so far. We bought our car from Northampton car shop 2 years ago. The salesman we had was very helpful and friendly.... However, once we came to part exchange our old car, he gave us a very low rate, which we told him very clearly if that was all they would give us for our car then we couldn't afford to buy the new one. I found the Carshop experience to be excellent. I had no experience of "car supermarkets" until my son bought a car from Carshop Northampton last autumn. I accompanied him on his visits and was impressed by the attentive and friendly service and experienced the same when I decided on Carshop for my new vehicle. We avoided the car shop previously thinking they were rip off merchants but when we couldn't find what we were looking for we decided to look on line. Guess what happened ...yes, we found what we were looking for. The next bit was so easy. Think of trapsying round a vast car yard and you would be wrong. Put a deposit down on a car on the Saturday and sorted out collection for 10am Monday morning, We arrived just before 10am and left at 2pm, car needed new tyre replacing and alot of waiting around.. Owned a ford ka sport which was costing me too much in fuel for the new job which involved more commuting. We knew we wanted a diesel 3 door but that was it. I part exchanged a punto for a focus. I had to haggle with them on the price of the punto - don't accept the first offer. The inspection was quick and easy, he just started the car and moved it from one space to another. The price of the focus was cheaper online so they honoured that which was good of them, but lucky that I spotted it and had to show them the online price on my phone. Initially I was not entirely keen to buy a second hand car from this company. However, my opinion has changed. I bought my car 4 years ago now. A VW Golf TDI. The car had 60+ thousand miles on the clock. The car is now over 100.000 and has no major or unexpected issues. It has run well and was incredibly good value. Traded in a 07 reg mini cooper, after some haggling got an average trade price against car that I wanted, just stick to your guns and dont let them try to add on little extra prices or say your trade car is worth less. I have found it easy to choose vehicles using the web site which has many clear photos of the vehicles showing both interior and exterior. Carshop Northampton provides ex lease and finance cars to the general public. They have a large site just outside Northampton but is easily accessed by the A45. There are hundreds of cars and often several choices of the same brand. Best options are for standard “company cars” so there is excellent choice of Audi A3s, A4s, BMWs and Fords. I bought a car from them on the 17th of dec and i noticed the tracking was off so i took it to my local car garage and they said have it been in a crash? i phoned the car shop and they told me to go halfords autocentre peterboro' i went there and they said has it been a crash? Purchased a car from this outfit around 18 months ago, signed a couple of papers stating clearly that I didn't want gap or warranty. Went to pay off the finance a couple of months ago and it turned out they had added both to the Finance. I wish it was, the actual figure added per month to the agreement was £48. Like a few others that have dealt with this company I had already said no the both the warranty and gap cover yet upon collection of the vehicle they had been added to the finance agreement and when questioned you get told to ignore them as they have just been added to push the finance through and will be removed.
Unfortunately most people (like myself) use these companies as they promise a quick turnaround and when you are just wanting the car you tend to believe what they want you to believe.
I have signed documents stating I did not want either product and since finding out these were being paid for the carshop have said I do not have them included.
So not only am I paying for something that I didn't want it turns out that I don't even have the gap or warranty.
An absolute joke of an outfit, I'm mad at myself for letting this go unnoticed as I'm sure many others have.

The Car Shop are governed by the FSA and as you have rightly done, the complaint can be taken up with them.You should have a copy of the Demands and Needs which the Business Manageris supposed to go through with you prior to any signing of Financial Docs.
Unfortunately the comapny thinks that it is a law unto itself and plays very under handed practices.
The Business Manager would have earnt a good salary from the addition of the added policies as would The Car Shop.
It does not matter if they state that the policies were not on the order form, because if they are on the Finance agreement that is all that matters, also The Car Shop will be able to check from their own Business Manager Finance Logs what commission was claimed for from the lender.
Battle it through you have a very strong case.

I have both signed documents stating that I am aware of the risk of not taking out gap and warranty.
The business manager just span us a load of old rubbish in order to get his commission. (another customer on this or another thread had exactly the same thing happen)
Whilst it aggravates me that I have been paying for something that I didn't want and didn't receive I am more annoyed that a company that size can get away with what is essentially fraud.
