General comments: I got my Coleman 2 Mantle Gas Lantern for free but they usually sell for $50, that is very reasonable for how much light they give off, (about the same as a 100 watt light bulb). Fuel for these is very cheap and readily available. Mine will last several hours on high on one fill. The light level is easily adjusted, and can be turned down very low to save gas while staying lit, this avoids the need to relight.

They are quite large and not suited for hiking any distance to a camp site. They take up a lot of room in your pack, especially if they are in there protective case. Before you light one be sure you read the instructions and know what you are doing. They can flare up and are tricky to get burning right. Not to say it is difficult you just need to know what you are doing and be careful, "never light indoors" is not just a suggestion.

Over all a good lantern the amount of light and heat is amazing but definitely intended for a larger camp that you don't have to hike to.
