Good Points: An interesting camera, great for learners; a compact with lots of manual control. Very cheap, even taking into account that it's always secondhand. It has a wonderful light-meter, and a little box where the required number appears when you've got the shutter-speed and aperture settings correct. If you remember to set the distance scale first, you can't go wrong. It's also very light to carry and looks quite handsome. It has a standard hot-shoe for flash also.
Bad Points: None, unless you want a total point and shoot, or you don't want to have any artistic input.
General comments: The Halina 3000 is a wonderful little 35mm camera which defies derisory descriptions of it which I've come across. It turned me from a know-nothing adult beginner into someone who is confident enough to take pictures anywhere. The highest shutter-speed is 1/250, but perusal of books on compact cameras soon show that this can be more than enough for someone willing to learn a few tricks about shooting sports and fast cars etc on a compact type camera, and if you eventually get a camera with a high shutter-speed, you will know what it's for!
