I bought my Microfuzion about 4 years ago and have found it to be pretty useful. The database of roadwork cameras is poor - out of date but all others seem to be OK. I drive through France and Spain on a regular basis and the database for these countries is very good and much needed!! For what it costs and with the 'free' updates I am quite happy with my decision to buy it. The big problem came when I updated from WinXP to Win7 and then found the Microfuzion tech support just wasn't there -... (read more)

Had for 5 years and now have not been able to update for over a year. Tried contating company just a blank wall. So although a good unit, no use if it wont update. Go else where. (read more)

I had a similar problem with Windows 7 64bit, so I used the compatibility mode in 7 and used Windows XP (Service Pack 2) it now updates with know problems at all, it is a great product. Give it a go it worked for me.

Just purchased this Microfuzion direct from there site. Cant get it to download anything. After reading these reviews it is most probably because i am on Windows 7. It only reads in Kilometers and I wrote to the company and received a broken english letter stating that I have to download to get it to read in MPH. Considering I cant download anything (as not compatable) it is completely useless to me. I am going to borrow another laptop that is using XP so watch this space. I am so... (read more)

Could not agree more with this review. I have spent over £100 on a unit which cannot be updated and from a company which ignores all atempts to contact them to resolve the problem.
Do not waste your money.

I bought one of these, from a shop, about 5 years ago, really fantastic, so I bought 2 more. 1 came with wrong power lead, no response from company, 2nd shows wrong speed so continually tells me am over speed limit. Again no reply from company, buying direct is really cheap however, from last 2 purchases (about £200) the lack of response means I WOULD NOT recommend or buy from them again. (read more)

Rubbish. Doesn't work with Windows Vista or 7. Couldn't update it and it didn't detect a gatso so i got a ticket. Waste of space, wouldn't recommend to anyone. (read more)

If you want to update you will have to use a Windows XP computer and it will work however don't try to get help from Micro Fuzion Customer Service they ignore all e-mails I have ever sent.
Great Product though

I bought Microfuzion camera F1 in March 2010 and whilst using Windows XP could download updates. Problems started when I changed to Windows System 7; couldn't get a driver to download, tried contacting the company to no avail.
My advice is not buy this product whilst Microfuzion won't offer technical advice and drivers.

When I first purchased this device, I was very pleased with it. The updates worked and were regular and I had a response to questions from the help line. This seems to have gone to pot in recent months, so that I am having the same experiences as others who complain over the lack of update (mine has been at 9051 for some time now) and the lack of response from the support centre. Perhaps it's time to move on. (read more)

Bought a Microfuzion speed camera and radar detector in June 09. Seems to work OK... BUT... I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 in Feb 10 and the existing USB driver won't work with Windows 7. I have searched the net for an updated driver with no success. Microfuzion don't respond to my emails for assistance. I've phoned their order 'hotline' and got voice mail, left a message and still no response.

Portable unit. Picks up all camera's. Had mine for 4 years, well pleased with the base unit. The unit does need regular updating and the web site instructions for the updating are sometimes hard to follow. But free updates for life, that takes some beating. (read more)

I had this microfuzion unit for 2 years and i had no speeding tickets it is a very portable product and easy to update the system very easy to use and a very good system i have two products from microfuzion i have the microfuzion gps and microfuzion wireless radar detector and i had them for 2 years and they are so briilant. I have had one of these for a few years now,I thought it was good when I got it,now I hardly use it.The reason is it never alerts me to new cameras,it warns me of ones that were removed years ago,I do not believe they ever update the database.Communication with the company is an absolute waste of time.The couple of people who have given it good reviews must work for them. I bought a micor fuzion total, and the add on radar detector. In my 35 mile journey to wirk, it went off 27 times. On one roundabout, the radar detector advised me of three different types of radar, and the mobile camera database warned me of a mobile camera at nearly every bridge. The locations of cameras are published on the web by the local safety camera operators, so it would be simple for Micro Fuzion to update and get it right. i liked the microfuzion because i had my microfuzion for about 2 years and theres been no problems with it at all and it tells you to slow down and gives you a lot more infomation and i think microfuzion works really well but because i i have a gps microfuzion and a rador detector and the rader detector has worked really well too and i had it for 2 years to and still works now and the gps microfuzion still works now (read more)

I find that the Microfuzion camera very user friendly, it has stopped me getting any speeding fines in the the last approx two years of use. I am so happy with it that i told some of my friends who have also bought the unit. (read more)

Although fairly cheap and easy to use Microfuzion has negative points. Stopped updating at 8084. Too many warnings about mobile cameras to be useful. Not direction sensitive. Warnings in France and Spain are next to useless (more than half - warnings with no cameras and cameras with no warnings). (read more)

I really like this Microfuzion system and was hoping to expand to other products, --- but when unable to update--and very unhelpful aftersales experience in my opinion.
I contacted them on their web answer site--complete waste of time. I did not get a direct answer, they just kept me hanging on.
Have never complained before about any service on the net. Could be a great unit, but the service for me, wants terribly.

Loads of missing cameras on their database
Loads of not taken off cameras on their database
They don't and never email or phone when you have any sort of problems.
Months and months old updates.

The Microfuzion speed camera detector overheats and will not power up, its dangerous trying to get this working on the move. road angel says there is a firmware problem and they will be sorting this, screen blotchly there is a grey area on the screen from half way up more obvious when you view it from the right this disappears when viewing from the left. mobile camera warning is fixed at 500m, the camera range is much more than this. I have had my unit now for 13 months and have never been able to download any updates. It is therefore 13 months out of date and I am at serious risk of being caught out. Despite several assurances over the last 13 months that the unit would be replaced nothing has happened. I would not recommend this unit to anyone purely because of the companies non existent after sales service. I am very angry. (read more)

I purchased the Microfuzion Total unit and have had the same problem with downloading the database. There was a problem with the usb lead - my laptop did not recognise it. The company replaced the lead but it still did not work. After several attempts to fix the problem I was told i would need a computer engineer to sort it out. I told them then I would be returning the unit and they have refunded my money.

The real attraction is the free lifetime updates and relatively low cost of the device - but it's certainly not the best available. Camera database doesn't seem to be updated frequently enough, so sometimes the alerts are out-of-date; not direction-sensitive; customer service not great; updating not the most straightforward. My brother had a Microfuzion, nothing but heartache and a complete waste money. He felt really cheated and was so angry and frustrated by this crowd. He ended up getting a Road Pilot MicroGo instead. Don't even touch with the proverbial 10ft barge pole. (read more)

I installed this Microfuzion Speed Camera Detector very easily and was amazed with the accuracy and found most of the cameras very easily, so with free life updates the database seems excellent.
There was one major concern and that was it did not give sufficient warning when approaching possible mobile camera sites. It warns you at 320 meters away but recently I have been caught speeding (allegedly) 500 meters away, so by the time you get the warning, you might have been caught already. The...

I haven't bought one yet, but I am very impressed by the positive reviews. I have been looking for something reliable. I am a HGV driver and have just been presented with my 4th endorsement, bringing the tally to 12 points so I need one now more than ever, so I'll be shopping for one on Saturday. Watch this space!

The Microfuzion is a very good value but it doesn't take into account direction of travel, so alerts to cameras on opposite side of road are given. Going through London traffic with cameras on both sides of road, plus traffic light cameras, gives a confusing number of alerts. Certainly makes you aware! Hourly time checks not necessary. Despite the bad points, these are minor quibbles (read more)

Previously used another product which presented problems in obtaining satellite 'fix' in Mondeo with its Heated Screen and Rain Sensors. Bought upgrade Microfuzion FZ3 which 'booted up' in seconds. Free updates are a real bonus and make this product a real winner. Highly recommended. (read more)

Just like to say a big thankyou for the link to the driver.
I downloaded & installed all as it says on the tin & hey presto I just uploaded the latest Microfuzion updates.
Been unable to get the device to be recognized since February this year.!
Any of you other users out there pay heed to the link to get yourself back up & running.

I too have had this problem with windows 7, contacted microfuzion who replied very quickly with a useless link, however they provided a troubleshooter that by uniinstalling and plugging in the device ( after a few goes) opens up a prolific driver installer. how I got to it defeats me. however I unzipped it reloaded the software update tool, plugged in the device and hey presto. All Ok.

I have had a Micro Fuzion Camera detector for about four years and it will NOT update with Windows 7 but will update on Windows XP computers.
I have tols them about this but it is impossible to get any help or feedback from their customer servicves
Having said that I thinki the product is very good and I have ordered the Mirror camera detector for Christmas.
