“FANTASTIC SERVICE, AM I THE LUCKY ONE?”

★★★★★

written by on 23/11/2012

Packaged mobile phone insurance with Royalties Gold account, dealt with very very efficiently DESPITE O2 providing wrong information, and the lost phone actually being a replacement (original failed and replaced under warranty and I had forgotten to register replacement phone) once I had the correct paperwork the phone was replaced within 2 days, THANKYOU CPP, not sure how my experience is so different from everyone else, insurance claims are messy sometimes and you have to produce the correct paperwork to verify your claim. I cannot fault CPP who seem to have been very patient with me and kept me informed each step of the way as to what I needed. Given that this was insurance provided with my bank account I did not expect too much, service has been excellent and my Royalties Gold Account is paying for itself!

“I had no problem, phone was fixed within 5 working days”

★★★★★

written by on 06/10/2012

Dropped my S3 and ended up with a cracked screen. I am with NatWest so phoned them up, sent an email with a photo of a Vodafone receipt and they called me back the following day. Filled in a form, wrapped my phone up and sent it via recorded delivery. Phone was sent on Tuesday and I got it back repaired the following Tuesday - 5 working days. I read some of the reviews here and they did not fill me up with confidence, but in the end I had no problems whatsoever.

“No problems”

I recently lost my phone and after reading through this page and talking to friends about their experiences with insurance claims, I was very worried that my claim wouldnt be accepted but I have to say it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. The people I spoke to were polite and helpful, and very quick in processing my claim. I had a replacement phone in about 2 weeks. Very happy with how I was dealt with, especially since it was my first time ever making an insurance claim so I had no idea what to do!

“A good claim!”

★★★★★

written by on 16/02/2012

I don’t suppose many people write a review when the insurance claim goes well, so I hope this review will help address the balance a bit. I have a NW gold account and lost my iphone 4 – so rang cpp to get it sorted. I found the claim advisers to be extremely helpful and understanding and clearly described what my next steps should be. I was initially told my claim would be processed within 10working days, which at first I was a bit frustrated at. However within 2 working days I got a call say my claim had been approved and they would be sending a cash payment to my account which I would was delighted with. They sent me enough money to buy myself a new 4S so was well chuffed! I found the process easier and smother than any other claim I have made. I feel like if you follow the terms and conditions you will be fine (like all insurance). After speaking with a member of staff at CPP I was informed that they only take £1 per month from the £12.99 we pay a month! Considering you can insure iphone 4s’s on the policy its extraordinary value for money – not really sure how anyone can complain.

thank you this has given a littl ray of hope, i have just cracked the screen on my Nokia N8, i am also a Natwest ad gold account holder so i have this morning rung CPP to start my claim, following reading the previous revious i was a little worried. and also i have since found that i can replace the screen easily my self and a new screen inc tools is a little ove £17. CPP stated my excess is £25.

i am still in a dilema whether to continue with my claim or just buy the screen and do it my self?
eitherway your review has helped reduce my fears of CPP

Thank you

“Two Claims, two successes!”

★★★★★

written by kdavies1 on 03/02/2012

I have claimed on two seperate occasions off this firm, once for a blackberry and once for an iphone 4. I firstly claimed through t-mobile using this service provider for my blackberry which I had lost after a morning spent in my local town. It was in 2010 sometime, but the company accepted my claim and sent me a new blackberry within two weeks or so. This replacement broke within days and efficiently they sent me another replacement within a day. I had previously forgotten about this claim until I lost my Iphone 4 just after Christmas 2011. After reading this site I dreaded claiming, as all the reviews are negative. However I put in my claim and followed all the guidelines as stated in their terms and conditions, reported it to my network provider, the police, and phonesafe all within approx 24 hours. Even though it was a busy period for them being closed after the 28th until the 3rd Jan (I think) the claim was proccessed at about 6th Jan (after being reported on the 27th Dec). As it was now impossible to buy a new iphone 4 due to the 4s' release, they offered me no alternative and generously offered me a full payment of £500 (£475 after minusing £25 excess) which was paid into my account in full after about a further week. This insurance company is brilliant, and well worth the money as I have it through my natwest account. All in all ignore bad reviews, make sure you follow the protocol of the t&cs and you will be fine.

I dont take this as a genuine review as I am sure this company will not give you £500 for an iphone4. to get a claim.. we have to follow their guidlines with zero margin for error

Why would I commit to a false review? They provided me with £475 cash (taking into consideration a £25 excess) because they couldn't replace it. Iphone 4 is no long for sale (in the model I had) and a photocopy of my reciept showed that is how much I paid for it. I'm not bothered about your question of authenticity, that's what I got and my review is truthful and I now have an Iphone 4S due to how helpful they were.

“I used to work for Phonesafe, so naturally I'm going...”

★★★★★

written by on 26/03/2011

I used to work for Phonesafe, so naturally I'm going to defend the company and it's staff, I do feel for customers who make claims and get declined. A lot of this is because the general public are often not aware of the terms and conditions that go along with the policy. If people read the T&C's they would have no problems with the outcome of a claim. Yes it is that simple. READ THE T&C's! Even the large print explains the basic conditions of insurance, this is how every insurance company in the world operate. I remember always thinking, yes I feel for people but then get annoyed thinking if you had just read the conditions you would have no problem. In
Our society we just expect to get things but we don't think about the outcomes of not reading terms and conditions. I do know that phonesafe get complaints, of course I feel for people who are declined, however more fool them. I do know the company did 100's of claims a week, the actual percentage of declines out of 1000's of claim
was around 8% so people need to realise 92% of claims are accepted and approved.

PEOPLE READ YOUR T&C's that is all you need to do!!!!

I think instead of patronising people on this review you should have asked instead why Phonesafe CPP did not READ THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL for the fax machine. Everywhere else in the world a fax would take a couple of minutes to arrive but at Phonesafe it takes up to 2 days WTF???? READ THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL CPP!!!!

“I dont understand u people! u must have known it...”

I dont understand u people! u must have known it wasn't going to be the quickest insurance as it's part of a package account. when you consider the break down in cost i believe we pay 80p a month for the phone insurance, not bad at all. It sounds like a simple case of reading the T&Cs before taking out the policy, for you lot who were declined!

“ok personally i don't see what all the fuss is about... ”

★★★★★

ok personally i don't see what all the fuss is about...

we seem to live in a society where people think they are above all others...

cpp, like every other company, is a company out to make a profit... they can't make a profit by giving money away which is what some of you are hoping for... losing your phone is a genuine accident yes. but if there were no "reckless" factors in place then cpp would be handing money out left, right and centre...

for those of you with a valid claim, i'm amazed at your experience...

i made a claim 2 weeks ago, my phone is now with the repair company waiting to be sorted... 2 weeks may not be ideal but let's not forget this service is costing you next to nothing...

rather than bitching about what you don't have, be grateful for what you do...

“People people people - just because you pay a premium...”

★★★★★

written by on 05/12/2009

People people people - just because you pay a premium this doesn't ENTITLE you to a replacement phone. The clue is in the product - INSURANCE. As an insurer Phonesafe are agreeing to insure your asset PROVIDING you adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the policy you have agreed to. It is not T-Mobile responsibility to point out the small print - it's YOURS. Surely if you are paying for protection YOU should check what YOU are paying for?!?! An insurable asset is exactly that. If someone not named on your car insurance crashes your car the car insurer would not pay out - the same applies to a phone. In order to have the right level of cover the insurer needs to know what level of risk it is exposing itself to. Having read the terms and conditions and having used the product I find it and its clauses that basic that a child could understand them. I found the agents knowledgable, professional and empathetic when I lost my phone. I had my replacement within 48 hours - guess why - I read and understood my terms and conditions - not rocket science and the Ombudsmen will say the same. If you're responsible enough to purchase a service perhaps you should be responsible enough to not give your phone to a child to play with, take it in the bath with you, leave it on a bar only to be surprised that it's been stolen - laughable really.

The terms and conditions of Phonesafe are designed maximise the opportunity for them to deny payment. My phone as stolen off our table in a pub - but because I was honest about getting up...letting my partner look after my stuff while I went to the toilet... they refuse to pay. The insurance policy he has for his camera... (the one I would have taken of T-Schmobile did not insist on giving me 6 months free cover on Phonsesafe) certainly would have covered this. Disgusting. Worse that no insurance, since you think you have insurance.
<br/>ps I would bet a crate of beers the reviewer is being paid for this particular comment. Another sign of Phonsesafe's dishonesty...
