Good Points: Straight line speed, mile eater, comfort, looks, engine build.
Bad Points: Just a bit old for fast cornering and weight.
General comments: I've had two of these and loved both of them, did north to south of France in one day and toured over to the Czech Republic via a lot of Europe, so as a fast tourer their great - but the handling is very dated nowadays, the only way it could keep with the newer bikes is in a straight line, with the smaller sixteen inch wheels and the bikes weight I found it very skittish when fully lent over. Went on to a ZX10 now on ZX9R but I never forgot the RX.

The Kawasaki GPZ1000RX a very capable sports bike, able to keep up with the thou's without blinking. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure, cheaper parts, more comfortable riding position than the 1000's. Position it somewhere below an out-and-out sports bike as it is a pleasure on long distance. Grin factor 10/10. road handling excellent - track -hmmm (buy a rear shock). Accelerate hard and try and keep the front wheel down at 6000/9000/11000rpm - impossible.
