“Xbox Elite Controller supposed repair”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Katie343 on 03/04/2020

Paid the 28£ and sent it off. 2 weeks I waited before phoning... its lost in depot. Phoned for the next 10 days every time I will escalate and manager will get back to you. Then it arrived back unchanged no repair. Phoned to discuss, no one would talk. Eventually put up a dispute via credit card I paid with they fully refunded saying no response from the mobilephonerepairs.co.uk. Absolute shambles, Never use

“Sent my water damaged S6 for repair”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 10/02/2018

Sent my water damaged S6 for repair, despite requests for updates on diagnostics I got very vague answers. Asked for my phone to be returned 3 times but got no acknowledgement from them. Went to shop premises in Eccles and had a heated discussion with the person I dealt with who told me the phone wasn't there but was at a repair centre elsewhere. Don't believe him but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt anyway. Had to leave the shop without my phone. Paid £17.50 for diagnostics. Do not touch this outfit.

So I've just received my laptop back having sent it away for repair. On return the power supply was missing. To my horror they have also replaced my i7 3940xm processor with an older useless processor and are denying that they have changed it! What an absolute bunch of snakes! Anybody know the best way to deal with this?

Search for Epac victim support group on face book. There are hundreds of customers who have been ripped off by them operating from 190a church street eccles Manchester.
Salford Trading standards have had over 900 complaints about them.
You can take them to small claims, a lot of other customers have and the customer has won every time. Also please report them to Trading Standards you can do this by phoning Citizens consumer advice line. It's run by citizens advice they'll give you advice regarding consumer law and report it to TS.

written by OCTAVIANGOSPODIN on 22/07/2017

I had wish not to give them any star! Was a bad idea to send my phone to this rubbish repair centre.First off all they give me an around 55 pounds quote(but they forgot to tell me this quote is without VAT).After few days they told me my phone is ready, but they are some problems with touch screen and need another part replaced(I had send my phone for a cracked protection glass screen replacement),and will cost me another 35 pounds(+VAT,off course). At the end I had paid a totally sum of 128 pounds, including delivery.I had received back my phone and is looking horrible! It cames back with glue sticked all over and the screen under protection glass scratched!I could repair my phone locally with 100 pounds, and in good condition.Terrible company!

“Shiny website, utter chaos.”

Sent back a tablet which had rapid battery discharge. Asked for a new battery. Received a call asking me to explain what was wrong and explained about the battery problem. At this point the told me the screen was coming away from the unit which was news to me. They said the would look at it again on Monday however on Saturday they sent me an e-mail headed "Oh good news"! telling me that the tablet had been repaired and asked for full payment which I made. I then checked my bank and saw they had also charged a deposit which I had paid again and I asked them to check out. They then sent an e-mail saying the first e-mail was wrong and the wanted to know what was wrong with the tablet?? In short the tablet has now arrived back , I have been overcharged and I have no idea if they have replaced the battery. and needless to say the screen shows no sign of damage and the rapid battery discharge is still there. Caveat Emptor

DO NOT USE mobilephonerepair.co.uk. I called for new screen repair for del laptop. Gave model and even serial number. Was told in stock, would take 24/48 hr cost £97 all inclusive. Expensive but promised quick return. so paid 20% deposit and sent it. 2 weeks later, after much lying and nasty manipulation, cost has risen to near £200! Phoned and told 'pay up or no laptop'. They lied to get the business n have lied thro-out. Nasty and unpleasant people. This is a shortened account -full story is shocking! Please check other reviews if doubt this sad tale! If you send them your appliance it will be held to ransom! Ps: they advertise under many names, be sure of who you are sending it to!

“Careless, Irresponsible, Pathetic”

written by on 07/03/2017

I had called on the number and enquired about battery replacement and charger port replacement of my mobile. The executive asked to ship my mobile the same day and I was given 48 hrs deadline to get my mobile back. There was no response from the company for first 5 days apart from the acknowledgement that they received my mobile. After following up for first 5 days, I was told they don't have the parts available and it will take one more week. Its been 8 days now and there has been no response from this company. Please don't try this company.

“Avoid at all costs”

written by Keylal1960 on 19/02/2017

Made phone booking for my iPhone charging port. Was given a price of £47.50 fully inclusive, however, when advised it was repaired they had added 20% vat ....... so not fully inclusive. Phone retuned with damaged microphone could not make normal calls. When contacted was told to send back at my expense and they would decide if it was their fault ? and would charge full price for repair if not? It worked perfectly before they had it. Numerous emails no satisfactory response now in the hands of aTrading Standards. Would never use again.

“Shoddy repair I was the lucky one that got my device back!”

★★☆☆☆

written by shelley.reed on 25/01/2017

I as with many other customers were extremely annoyed to find that they added tax on after they had recieved my device despite me asking over the phone more than once if that was the final quote. They then effectively hold your device at ransom until you pay all outstanding monies. My tablet was returned very quickly audit was wrapped well (this is why they have got two stars). Upon opening up the packaging I was disappointed to find that the new screen had excess glue all over it and the screen just doesn't look nice and flush like it used to. It looked a bit of a mess to be honest. A few days later I noticed that the screen was also had a lot of dead pixels under certain lighting or with different coloured backdrops. I contacted the customer service and they said I had to pay to return the device to be investigated!!!! I said it was their issue and that they should arrange to courier it back to be repaired and hey weren't interested. I was about to return it at my expense as the pixels are getting very irritating but after reading these reviews I think I will cut my loses.....

“AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Added extra charges & broke my...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Williamssv429 on 25/01/2017

I was originally quoted £89.99 for my repair, and called up to confirm that this included 'all taxes and fees', which I was told it did. Surprise surprise, they later added VAT. When they received my phone, there was a mystery 'issue' that meant that the assembly needed to be replaced, which would be another £34.99 + VAT. If I didn't pay this, the phone wouldn't work. I coughed up, then when I got my phone back the speakers didn't work. When I called them, they said I'd have to pay £9.99 to send it back for them to inspect, and couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be more charges. It turned out they'd replaced them with cheap knock-off components, then messed up the repair, shortcircuited the phone, and snapped the chassis. I had to pay another £40 for it to be repaired by a reputable company. If you're reading this and think it can't be this bad, take my advice (and that of 100s of other people who have been ripped off) and avoid this company like the plague!! UPDATE - They are now threatening to 'take me to court' because I'm complaining....

“Poor Customer Care”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 1lambretta on 25/01/2017

This company are the worst I had had to deal with had my phone for well over 5 weeks to replace a cracked screen, after countless calls to this company ( over 20 )with which can take 15 mins to get through, one even put me on hold for 20 mins and forgot , so I had to ring again, was told phone was fixed , so please could I make payment which I did, so patiently waited, for delivery, then I received an email 6 days later asking for £99 on top of the £70 I had already paid plus £17 deposit, due to the phone not working now, after telling me the week before all tested passed and ready to be sent, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!!!!! will be getting it send back to me with no glass on it and will be getting fixed elsewhere ...

“DREADFUL, CROOKED, DISHONEST - DO NOT USE!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Brunoq54 on 14/01/2017

Sent my MacBook Air in to get some keys changed from German to UK, but changed my mind as soon as I sent it after seeing bad reviews. They ignored my legal request to have the computer returned and effectively held it hostage, demanding payment for its return, and eventually did work on it I did not authorise. I finally got my computer back after sending a friend around to pick it up, and it is broken. I am heading to the Apple Store to get it fixed properly now. do not believe the positive reviews you see here; I am pretty sure the majority are totally bogus. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EPAC TO ANYONE.

Did you have to pay in the end to get your laptop back??? I am in the same situation but refusing to pay. They withheld my laptop for 7 weeks and I specifically said to return it without fixing, now they are asking for £180 as they went ahead to return it anyway. It is barbaric!

“PS4 repair!”

written by Duncan254 on 09/01/2017

Such a bunch of liers! I can't believe they ve just taken my PlayStation and kept it with them for almost a year and a half now without getting any contact from them! Definitely they used it as parts! unreliable unprofessional dodgy service.. they make it easy for you to send you item to them. and then they tell you we won't be able to fix it and ask you for a big amount of money as the delivery fees after telling you its not going to work so they can keep it for them!! I will take that way further!

“6 weeks later and my laptop has still not been returned”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 07/01/2017

I am extremely upset at myself for not reading the reviews on this site before sending my laptop.  I sent in my laptop for repair on the 23rd Nov 2016, it had a very small issue i.e. my battery was no longer charging and as such I had to leave it plugged in whenever I used it, everything else was working perfectly. I was told it would be fixed within 48hrs. After multiple phone calls and emails my laptop has still not been fixed, I have only endured lies and extremely rude customer service this entire period. 3 weeks ago I asked my laptop be returned in the condition I sent it in, as they have not managed to repair it and it still hasn't been returned!!! At this stage I wonder if it has been sent to a different country, damaged or lost because I cannot understand why it still has not been returned without repairs. I stupidly did not backup my files because I believed in the "48hr" lie!!!

“Lenovo screen repair. Shoddy job for more than quoted”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Davinq230 on 15/12/2016

Had small crack in screen of lenovo laptop. Found these guys on a website advertised as Lenovo specialists. Was quoted £99 for screen repair and return within 24 to 48 hours. After 48 hours of sending laptop off was informed there was a delay getting parts, also informed my back light broken ( it was not) and told to pay additional 50 pounds. Laptop arrived a week later, screen fixed but casing now cracked. Have ruined a perfectly good laptop. I can only thank my lucky starts I got it back at all!

“This company is shocking!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SienaMatthews on 10/12/2016

On 14th November 2016 Elite Phones and Computers collected my Samsung Galaxy note 8 64g tablet by UPS. I was assured that they would be able to replace the motherboard and battery using genuine new Samsung parts. I paid the full amount of £164.90 by Mastercard on 21st November. On the 29th November I received a parcel containing a different device. Mine is easily identified because it was a special order BLACK (with brown trim) model (not usually made available in the UK). It was in IMMACULATE, AS NEW CONDITION. The 64G model with sim tray. The device I was sent was: WHITE Extremely damaged and the screen is malfunctioning. 16G model Additionally the device I was sent was loaded with a huge amount of HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL personal and financial data relating to various people. I now know far more about these people than I wish to, and I am sure, far more than they would wish for! I am sure they would be dismayed to know that Elite have let this information out into the public domain – I hope it doesn't come to that! I actually wonder how would this tablet be in their possession with so much sensitive data on it. I emailed photographic evidence of the mangy device I was sent in place of mine to phonesandcomputers.com as requested. On Thursday 1st December they agreed that the device sent to me was not mine. I was told that mine had been repaired and that the person I have dealt with from the start had physically seen it himself, and that he was personally arranging for its dispatch. On Monday 5th December a technician telephoned me. He said he was working on my machine but the device he had before him was the trashy white one. I described mine and interestingly he corrected me when I called it black, he knew it also had brown on it. Therefore I knew that he had handled my machine. If I wasn't so angry I would find it amusing that he also said that the reason the machine is so scratched and dirty was that they had to try and make it look as much the same colour as mine as possible! (i.e. from white to black!!!) On Tuesday 6th December, having not received my device I again called and the person I dealt with promised to call me back within 10 minutes. This he did not do. I telephoned again today Wednesday 7th December and again he promised to look into it and call me back which he has not done. I have consulted the Trading Standards In UK law they are in breach of contract, and Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
