Good Points: It has been very reliable, and it was quite cheap when I bought it a year and a half ago.It shreds quite finely and I get to use all the waste paper in my composting bin.It has a nice automatic mode where it stops shredding once the paper has passed though, though I imagine all shredders have this?

Bad Points: For a small home shredder it's capable enough for two peoples needs, if you need to shred more than six sheets at once, then buy an uprated office use model. The paper bin is quite small, but will hold enough for between 50 to 100 sheets, any more and the motor can audibly be heard to strain as it tries to pack more into the bin.

General comments: There are a lot of comments about the Fellowes PS-62C not coping with 10 or 20 sheets of paper at a time, but it clearly says it's only meant to shred up to six at a time (thats even stamped on the top of the shredder), can people not read these days? We've probably only oiled ours twice in the last year or so and we shred up to 30 sheets a month at the minimum, so I'm very happy with its reliability. It's not the quietest thing in the world, but it's only on for a few seconds so no issue there. We do try to take out staples before we shred, but I'm sure a handful have gone through by mistake with no obvious ill effects.

I believe the Fellowes PS-62C does not do what it says on the tin!
Ok for shredding 1 piece of paper at a time, however after about 10 pages it overheats and cuts out.

I feel the Fellowes PS-62C is a poor performing shredder. Has had very minimal use in the approx 2 years I have had it so I do not think the problems can be blamed on wear and tear.

My shredder appears to overheat and shut itself off after a very short time, sometimes only after a couple of minutes.

The cutters clog up because the shredded paper doesn't always fall from the cutters, ends up with the motor struggling to turn and the motor sometimes gives up and stops - I have to manually switc ...

The Fellowes PS-62C paper shredder is totally useless for anything apart from simple home use.

It overheats after just shredding 20 single sheets. Not suitable for a small office. On the first one, the cutting blades snapped off, and it finally gave a loud crunch and packed in all together. Now the warranty replacement (factory refurbished) is playing up. The problem as I see it is that the shredded paper packs up around the back of the cutters, increasing the load on the motor until it can ...
