    I contacted Krups shortly after buying our GVX2 as I found the top part became hot if left plugged into the wall socket. I had an immediate acknowledgement - then nothing. A second try brought the same results. We took to switching it off at the wall, which seemed to work. It stopped working shortly after guarantee ran out, producing a high pitched whine, but no coffee. I eventually had a reply from Krups to say in effect they were not interested. Unknown to me, my wife bought an identical machine a month ago. Same fault, heating in the upper (metal) part if left connested at the wall.

    I dismantled the first machine to find a resistance (R2) had scorched the pcb and was the obvious cause of the trouble. Contacted Krups. Not interested.Now stuck with another of the same. For how long?

    In addition, the static on the plastic collector box throws the coffee over quite an area when you try to fill the small dispenser for our espresso machine. Not a happy bunny.

    This Krups GVX2 Expert machine does what is says on the box. It grinds coffee to the specific finess you desire. Fine for espresso, coarse for filter. I would ignore the previous bad remarks about it, their machines were obviously faulty!

    I find this machine works perfectly. The coffee is ground correctly with no problems at all. I would recommend this machine.

    Set up machine according to the instructions, added beans, pressed go and 15 seconds later I had pinch of ground coffee.
    Tried again, and again, and again and eventually had enough to fill the coffee holder on my machine. Brewed a cup and it was the worst espresso I have ever had. Plugged my cheap old blade grinder back in and I am now waiting for a replacement machine to be delivered.

    So first impressions: big let down. The Krups coffe machine I have is superb, the grinder is not. ...

    If you want to grind coffee for an espresso machine forget the Krups GVX2 Expert coffee grinder. I quickly gave up with it, and it has stood unused in my kitchen for months. I am now looking for an efficient replacement, as I much prefer my coffee freshly ground.
