This is the most dodgy agency I have ever worked for. They delayed the payment every single week and every time the amount that they did pay was a lot less than it should have been. It looks like the only people who take the time to write reviews are those with a need to complain! I've used them for work since '99 (My local branch was called Recruit before it became Blue Arrow) I've always found them flexible. I don't know how many of those comments are true or not up the country. But the one in Exeter has changed looks like but they don't advertised as many jobs as normal. Well, at first they where based first near the tax office and then moved to the back corner of Dix's Field in Exeter.
I was recommended to Blue Arrow though the work programme funny enough and that’s why I went along to get register with that company as the work program wish me so to do.
I ask for (name removed) but she was not there and a girl ask me to go back home and email here to make an appointment. Another girl got up and said "are you looking for full time or temp work" I said "I was sent by the work program to get register with a local agency in my area. At the time of this was going five people was on the case. I remember a girl ringing up HQ and was saying that they are sending people down here now from the work program to this agency. Then a lady came out from the rooms and said "what are you looking for is it to do with the call centre post?" I said "do I sign here or with SWW would do that?" she said "give me your CV and post it on to the lady at SWW " no reply yet, I will give it for two days and I see where it go from there.

Only in London I counted more than 36 agencies in one evening. If all of them are like Blue Arrow (Victoria Branch), I'd rather be a hooker than work with them. Even if they give you plenty of hours to do from the first day, you'll be doing less than promised. In lots of events, you have to have there up to 90 minutes before starting - 90 minutes you don't get payed. So if you work from 17h to 22h, you'll actually earn 18,30 to 22. As far as I know, other agencies don't work this way. They... (read more)

I had been in contact with Blue Arrow's Headquarter, and they have been unable to help me because the incompetent staff and Management at my local branch had never updated the computer details about my worked hours, I'm owed 1 weeks wages, which amounts to £360.
However, the Headquarters had supplied me with the telephone number and email address for the Branch / Area Manager, I thought I was moving in a positive direction, but no, although I get through to someone, they are constantly telling me he's not in the office, I had then asked for days for when he would be there, so I waited patiently for those days, only to be told he wasn't here or he was too busy again.
The seriousness of the matter has never crossed the minds of the people who work at the branch involved, the irrefutable and unfixable damage I believe would have a detrimental effect on both the Blue Arrow Brand and the business as a whole. I have now tried numerous times to get in contact with the Branch Manager via Email, thinking that this must be a better way of contacting the Manager and have attempted to get through to him for the past 2 months, he refuses to get back to any of my countless email correspondences, and any of my many phone calls. I have lost my confidence in any of your Branch and Area Managers they are equally as incompetent and unwilling to help and correct series of serious mistakes in the way you do business. The point now is who do I get in contact with to get some real results. Because the staff from your consultants to your Managers are hopeless, and are as stated before considerably dim. Not knowing how much hurt and distress they are causing to both myself and the Blue Arrow business and brand.

I have called to get my pay and am in contact with two people in your branch via e-mail, being ignored by both. If I am not paid soon I will be getting a third party involved this is completely ridiculous, it's not much money but as I said I was not working for free and I am entitled to my wages.

This employment agency only cares about one thing . And that is its profits . Don't expect to get the personal touch from this comedy act as you wont get it. They had me travelling over 22 miles to (fill in) a form and to provide contact details ect. They promise to call you back . And guess what !! they never do . I called them numerous times and they still have not had the decency to even pick up the phone and tell me my status. BLUE ARROW .. You really are the joke of the employment... (read more)

Hi
I am contacting you from Blue Arrow.
Firstly, I apologise if you have had a negative experience with Blue Arrow, and hopefully my explanation of the registration process will clear things up.
Registration is a part of the recruitment process and helps consultants to determine a candidates suitability for a 1-1 interview. A completed application form is effectively like a cv. The majority of job interviews (agency or not) require the candidate to complete an application form.
The questions around driving were just to determine experience & qualifications and allow us to add these skills onto the system so we can offer suitable assignments in the future.
All details taken at interview/registration (including bank details) are securely stored on our system. Having this information enables us to contact good candidates who are available and place them quickly into suitable positions without them having to revisit the branch to provide further details.
I hope this helps, and please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.

I work for Blue Arrow Catering in London and feel very dissatisfied with them. They constantly offer me only 4 hour per day jobs, far away and which takes hours for me to reach! They are very aggressive to talk to and don't care about your skills, preferences or to talk to you about how you feel about the work you are doing. I constantly feel that they only see me as a big pound sign.Very unfriendly and rude. They don't even bother to greet me when I come into the agency.A few times they did... (read more)

I am so sorry to hear about your experience with our London office. Unfortunately the nature of assignments in catering and hospitality does tend to mean that the shifts that we are asked to cover are, typically four hours for Front of House staff (and six hours for Chefs). It is our policy to offer work to those candidates who have taken the trouble to register with us rather than not giving you the opportunity. Accepting or declining the offer of work is your prerogative and the location of the assignment is often a deciding factor. That aside, please accept my sincere apologies if our staff were in any way unfriendly, please ensure that we will be using your feedback to address these issues and I am confident that service levels will improve moving forward. I hope that I have been able to address your concerns, but in the event that you would like to discuss this further, please can I invite you to call me on 01582 692694 at our Head Office, and I would be please do talk to you.
Cheryl Moloney, Regional Director, South, Blue Arrow Catering & Blend.

I was sent home from work today 13/07/2011 because i made a comment about my safety. I was told to change my attitude after making the comment. When i went in to High Wycombe office straight after this, i told my consultant who did nothing but defend her client instead of temp staff. My wife used to work for Blue Arrow before the Recruit office moved in and they were always brilliant to get along with but now they don't give a damn. I never received a call once since July 2010 even though... (read more)

They kept me waiting nearly 5 months for an interview. Mentally taunted me by keep phoning up and saying :"do you want this job? We will interview you when we are ready. 5 months is a long time. They got loads of people in to sit and watch me stammer my way through the complex presentation plus interview.
I am a highly experienced Supply Chain graduate but they were talking down to me both on the telephone and face to face.
The job was re-advertised under a different title but they refused...

They treat me extremely badly, they illegally forced me to work for 2 buildings a day which I had never agreed to, and they taxed me too much.
A female in the Newcastle UK office was so utterly hideous and offensive to me and my brother, that I wrote to their head office and demanded an apology.
Their manager was a nice woman, but she left the company.
I spit on their window every time I pass it.

Blue arrow has very rude staff. I am talking about the Manchester Trafford park branch. The women that work their are very rude especially when you call them. They treat you like dirt. Please Keep away from this particular branch. The have problems with paying the right amount, they look for any excuse to deny you of your wages even when you are entitled to it. I know because they have done that to me and several others. I would recommend the tax and revenue office investigate their... (read more)

I've worked for Blue Arrow for 4 weeks now and haven't had a problem at all. Wage slips are emailed every Wednesday, been spot on so far, also emergency tax sorted out within 3 weeks. Pleased with them
