I applied for a job via Randstad, and pretty much the first thing they did was sign me up to an employee-funded insurance scheme without my consent. They didn't even bother to give us proper information about it - if we wanted access to the most basic terms of the policy or information on how to get out of it, we had to find them ourselves. I was granted an interview with the company I would be working for, but I also emailled Randstad to ask them a number of questions about this insurance... (read more)

Randstad is one of the most dishonest firm that I have worked with. Two of my consultants are placed through them. After sometime the consultants call me demanding more salary because Randstad guy tells them the rate that they provide my company for their services. We are a small consulting firm and we keep a very low margin for our staffing services, so any increase would make a no profit no loss thing. Now this Randstad guy has put us in such an embarrassing situation. Also they are very... (read more)

Recruiters at Randstad seem to be paid on commission only; everything is dead urgent, everything is critical. If you're desperate for a job, they might be able to place you quickly, but I wouldn't recommend working with them to further long term career goals. They want their commission, and they want it now; they simply have no incentive to work with you long term, however good your résumé is. absolutely nailed it, how are these places not illegal, as they are in other parts of the world is beyond me, I can only hope some day someone realizes who horrible these places are to the economy, not bashing true recruiters, those are nice to have but the fact that they take almost half your wage is completely bad and they need to be stopped , the problem is there are so many now that you dont even know if you are applying with a placement half the time, bottom line to many unqualified people getting rich off the less fortunate.
