“Tesco Clothing sales to Australia”

Written on: 16/11/2012 by SWMBO (1 review written)

Ordered 274 pounds of goods online for free delivery at end of October. It has been a disaster from the word go. still waiting for my goods and they have supposedly sent them twice. I did receive one of the items on 8/11/12 Strange as it was not supposedly dispatched till 9/11/12 according to there emails. The company doing the deliveries do not even recognise the Tracking numbers. Tesco do not reply to emails and try calling them and you could be on hold for hours. Lack of... (read more)

Written on: 19/10/2012

I ordered an item of school uniforn online without any problem but was then told the next day that the order had been cancelled due to the item being out of stock, so why did it allow me to order it in the first place? What they didn't say was that the exact item was still available for me to re-order online at nearly DOUBLE THE PRICE!!! Surely once an order is accepted it is the obligation of Tesco to fulfill that order if the goods are available. If they now have the goods at a much... (read more)

“Wrong item delivered”

Written on: 17/10/2012 by DAWNLC (1 review written)

I bought a pair of leggings and some winter boots in a size 5 I went to my Tesco to pick these up when I got home they were not a size 5 but a size 3. So I immediately rang Tesco Clothing and told them basically the lady told me to take it back to the shop get a refund order a new pair then wait for them to arrive and then go and pick them up a 3 rd time. So this was there mistake but I would have to go 3 times to Tesco before I got the right item. The lady who I spoke to was very rude and... (read more)

“Clothes that say size 14 which are really a size 10”

Written on: 21/08/2012 by tiazara

I bought a skirt today it was reduced from £14.00 to £7.00 a size 14 to which I am a size 12/14 and bought it for my holidays I did not try it on as with the tag saying it was size 14 so I knew it would fit. When I got home I tried the skirt on and to my amazement I couldn't even pull zip up never mind it fitting me. It was way to small and would fit SIZE 10 not a SIZE 14 So I am very disappointed so now I will have to travel 15 miles to take it back, what a pain..... wont be buying... (read more)

“Boys trunks have been reduced in size-now they don't cover”

Written on: 19/07/2012

Tesco=bad quality clothes generally. I have been buying trunks for my son there for years and they have fitted fine, the gusset is wide and they extend down the thigh, as trunks are supposed to. I bought a pack the other day only to find the material has been reduced so much they barely cover his buttocks and he is not a big lad. They are cut like ladies short panties, high on the leg. Absolute rubbish, certainly can't wear to school as immodest for PE changing. Also noticed their boys... (read more)

“Terrible website”

Written on: 14/04/2012

First off, before you even think about placing an item in your basket, you have to content with the terribly slow clothing@tesco site, which takes and eternity to load. The site is clunky and you can't use your Tesco.com / Tesco Direct log in, which is an absolute pain in the backside. The clothing range is limited and for what you get, it's expensive. Asda's George is far superior, in terms of quality, price and style. Come on Tesco, not sure who's in charge of clothing, but they're not... (read more)

“Cancelled my Order”

Written on: 27/09/2011 by Jan53 (2 reviews written)

Found the site messy, took a long time to find the dress I wanted as you have to select categories and the items per page are small, so you are constantly waiting for the next page to load. I eventually found the dress I wanted and ordered and paid for it and had to register as this is not the same site as Tesco Direct which I have an account with, received and email confirmation stating the dress was being picked and packed - then received another email later stating the order had been... “Poor Returns Policy”

Written on: 14/07/2011 by motherofboys (1 review written)

Bought a dress on-line from Tesco and tried it on when it arrived to find it was too small. On the reverse of the order it said that I could take it to the store for refund. I thought that this would give me the opportunity to try a bigger size so chose to make a trip out to the large store to do this. At the store they did not have the dress, and they refused to give me a refund despite having both a clothing department and a Tesco Direct desk! Needless to say I was not happy and will... Written on: 03/10/2007 by letzay

In general the store is good! I live on an island, and Tesco is really the main supermarket on the island, although it is still 13 miles away, but both my sister and sister-in-law will travel off the island to use other supermarkets instead of Tesco, as do some of my friends. I can't understand why they go elsewhere, as the food is good and very reasonably priced, as are the non-food items. (read more)

This is not normally where I shop due to its location, but on the odd ocassion my partner and I head there.

Tesco has a fantastic range of kids wear. I have twins (a boy and girl), and when I was pregnant we got quite a few outfits from there. Also, now we still shop for kids clothes, the twins are 9 months old and the clothes that we have purchased from Tesco seem to last a long time size wise. I've also passed a lot of the twins old clothes onto family, and they are durable too, as... (read more)

For convenience, quality and price, not many come up to Tesco's! I always have a look around when doing my grocery shopping, and usually I can't resist buying something! The range of clothing and accessories is very good. Not quite as much choice as most High Street shops, but enough that you can have a good selection. Plus, they change the range regularly, so there's always something new to view! In fact, it is well worth taking a look at the reduction rail for some fantastic... (read more)

Bertie's Response to Helen of Troy's Review

I second all that, Helen. I suspect that before too long, that all Tesco superstores will have a maternity unit at one end, an undertakers at the other and a holiday/school complex in the middle.

That will surely ease the traffic congestion!

Tesco have been doing clothes since the 1980's, and they stand the test of time. My husband still wears two shirts that I bought in December 1986, and they are still fashionable. I have two suits purchased from Tesco, which I refused to clear out, and how glad am I? They're now back in fashion!

Helen Of Troy's Response to Helen of Troy's Review

Written on: 10/01/2007

Hi jp20, I come from Exeter, Devon, UK, which is where our local Tesco is situated, we call Devon the Westcountry, although it is actually South West England.
Tesco is a massive name in most everything over here now from groceries to clothing to insurance to finance. If you want it, usually Tesco sell it! I am not sure if Tesco is on sale elsewhere in the world, if it isn't, the way they are going, it's probably only a matter of time!

Helen Of Troy's Response to Helen of Troy's Review

Written on: 05/02/2007

That all depends on what you buy and what you want to spend. The Value range is cheap. Some quite OK for the price, some not so good. The Cherokee range is pretty good, and it washes and wears well. The Florence and Fred range is the best quality Tesco do; more expensive and very good quality.
For a supermarket, Tesco do their best to cater for most, but can't always please everyone. The range of clothing varies from week to week also, so if you go in one week and can't find anything you like, chances are there may be something there the following week that really takes your fancy. I find the Florence and Fred underwear is excellent. Very pretty, very sexy and fits very well. The children's clothing is always excellent value, and I can vouch for the fact it wears very well. The styles are trendy too. As for menswear, my husband usually goes to Moss Bros or Next, but from time to time there is something there, even for a very fussy bloke like him!

Bunnie's Response to Helen of Troy's Review

Written on: 06/02/2007

Yes the quality of Tesco clothing has gone down, even in the past couple of years. It used to be really hard wearing, but now it is flimsy with little or no side seams, just overlocked, which personally, I think looks dreadful, especially around hems and the bottom of garments, but I suppose they would argue and say it saves material, but for the price you pay I expect proper hems and waistbands etc. I looked around the clothing section on Saturday and some of the stuff looked like it had come from charity shops (or should have been there)! Buck up your ideas Tesco; let's have style and quality back instead of going for quantity.

Written on: 12/11/2006 by VDarragh (4 reviews written)

I am loving the clothing range at Tesco. The range is very good value for money, and also good quality. Tesco have quite a big range in their stores now. Fantastic for work clothes, lovely dresses, jumpers and suits and good range of footwear. I have been finding places like Topshop and River Island etc are getting far too expensive for clothes for work, jeans and general casual wear. At least when you go in Tesco's, you get to kill two birds with one stone - food and clothes shopping,... (read more)

I agree what you say about Topshop being too expensive, and I too clothes shop in a supermarket, yet it is Asda. I love their clothes, and the prices even more.
When I go into Tesco though, they never have a big range, and although I have managed to get a few things for my kids, I have never managed for myself. Does every store have a small range, or do you think I should find another Tesco?
