I bought a desk and chair, paid the extra and bought from the '24 hour' delivery offering. 1 week after placing the order I rang to find out where it was, to be told 'our systems have been upgraded' so your order won't be fulfilled till next week. 2 weeks after placing the order, I rang and was told; it will be with you on Friday (3 days time); after demanding to speak to a supervisor, was told they would call back first thing the next morning. 3 weeks after placing the order, I rang to... We recently had our garage converted and I ordered 2 desks from Furniture@Work, a week later I messaged them about delivery and received no response. It was only after I threatened to cancel the order that they responded. They delivered the items on the 22nd of February, my dad helped me carry them in. I then had to go to work, it was a surprise when I got home to see that my parents had put them up for me. They also said that they were too big for the room. When I walked in I saw the... Purchased 17 mesh back chairs which started to break fairly soon after delivery. When we notified FAW we were informed that it is a parts only warranty and they would send us parts. Some parts could not be fitted without specialist tools and the remaining chairs continued to break. The very last functional chair has now broken after a year and half. Problems include faulty gas rams, broken backs and wheels. As telephoning FAW hadnt achieved the desired response we wrote to them and have... (read more)Visit furnitureatwork.co.uk

I had so many problems in locating the chair that I liked in the brochure and only find out how to do it when I called the customer service. Apparently, locating the chair by category nor the name is not useful but the actual product code and the color code. Then when I tried to purchase the item online, it looks as though that I was not able to delete the items that I no longer required. What it really worries me is that when the receipt (ie: the pdf file) was generated after payment has... (read more)Visit furnitureatwork.co.uk

I Ordered a desk for my son for christmas over a month ago. Got a phone call weeks after I placed the order saying there was a problem with the website and I shouldn't of been allowed to order the desk that I did as it came as a pack of 4. If I wanted just one desk, I would have to pay a further £30 so they could open the pack. When my Mum complained about having to pay the extra, as it was their fault in the first place, the guy on the phone fobbed her off so much she got confused, and... A truly dreadful company. Ordered goods 2 years ago and had dreadful trouble sending back lockers which did not fit the description. Great reassurances from the sales team that I could easily send them back turned into a. 6 month nightmare to get them returned and collected. Had to threaten to charge them rent for the space occupied and actually sent an invoice which finally got them collected. Replacement lockers had no adjustable feet as described in catalogue and took several calls, to... (read more)Visit furnitureatwork.co.uk

They messed up the delivery, so I cancelled the order. They didn’t like that at all and took over a month to process my refund. They came up with cancellation charges and all sorts of excuses and even threat of legal action didn’t work. In the end it was the intervention of a national newspaper that made them refund my money. And they only take orders on behalf of the manufacturers so don’t really know what they are selling and are not really in control of the deliveries. (read more)Visit furnitureatwork.co.uk

I attach an e-mail sent to Furniture@work, I think it says it all: Due to the rubbish customer service received from you and your company, please delete our details from your mailing and e-mail list. I ordered from this awful firm some years back and the goods were shoddy and for fit for purpose, and since then they've sent those awful mailshots to me and invented names of others at my company. I've called them and I've written to them to ask them to stop sending the mailshots. Just taken to emailing them for multiple names, and hopefully that will work. I must have had over a trees worth of paper waste for many names over the years, and more just arrived again. Soooo sick of these... (read more)Visit furnitureatwork.co.uk

They don't deliver what you order, then then try to charge more for what you originally ordered and then claim you have to pay more as you are bound by their terms and conditions. "Guaranteed delivery within 5-10 working days" don't make me laugh! Goods were not delivered delivery dates were agreed I took three days of work to take delivery. "Unrivaled customer service" according to the site. This is true. IN A BAD WAY. Their customer service is even more shambolic and rude than Basil Fawlty. Waited 3 months for the goods. My partner lost several days work (self employed) to wait for goods they promised to send next day delivery. Given false hope on delivery dates. Order was worth several hundred pounds and started to panic that we'd been swindled. I ordered two bookcases online at the start of September and paid at this time. One was delivered on the due date. After several days of enquiring where the other was, I was told that the bookcases were discontinued and I had received the last one. The last time I dealt with a company like this was '2 left feet' just before they went bankrupt! I ordered a cabinet and yes it did arrive - but I ordered 'cream', the delivery note said 'fawn' (close enough) but the actual colour is 'brown' - so much for matching our cream kitchen.
