We recently had our garage converted and I ordered 2 desks from Furniture@Work, a week later I messaged them about delivery and received no response. It was only after I threatened to cancel the order that they responded. They delivered the items on the 22nd of February, my dad helped me carry them in. Purchased 17 mesh back chairs which started to break fairly soon after delivery. When we notified FAW we were informed that it is a parts only warranty and they would send us parts. Some parts could not be fitted without specialist tools and the remaining chairs continued to break. The very last functional chair has now broken after a year and half. I had so many problems in locating the chair that I liked in the brochure and only find out how to do it when I called the customer service. Apparently, locating the chair by category nor the name is not useful but the actual product code and the color code. Then when I tried to purchase the item online, it looks as though that I was not able to delete the items that I no longer required. I Ordered a desk for my son for christmas over a month ago. Got a phone call weeks after I placed the order saying there was a problem with the website and I shouldn't of been allowed to order the desk that I did as it came as a pack of 4. If I wanted just one desk, I would have to pay a further £30 so they could open the pack. A truly dreadful company. Ordered goods 2 years ago and had dreadful trouble sending back lockers which did not fit the description. Great reassurances from the sales team that I could easily send them back turned into a. 6 month nightmare to get them returned and collected. They messed up the delivery, so I cancelled the order. They didn’t like that at all and took over a month to process my refund. They came up with cancellation charges and all sorts of excuses and even threat of legal action didn’t work. In the end it was the intervention of a national newspaper that made them refund my money. And they only take orders on behalf of the manufacturers so don’t really know what they are selling and are not really in control of the deliveries. (read more)

I ordered from this awful firm some years back and the goods were shoddy and for fit for purpose, and since then they've sent those awful mailshots to me and invented names of others at my company. I've called them and I've written to them to ask them to stop sending the mailshots. Just taken to emailing them for multiple names, and hopefully that will work. They don't deliver what you order, then then try to charge more for what you originally ordered and then claim you have to pay more as you are bound by their terms and conditions. Read the small print, watch out for product descriptions on their order acknowledgements as they are different to the items you get. (read more)

"Guaranteed delivery within 5-10 working days" don't make me laugh! Goods were not delivered delivery dates were agreed I took three days of work to take delivery. I ordered a 5 drawer filing cabinet in cream from this company in April. The quoted 5-10 day delivery took weeks and when the item arrived it was a 15 drawer unit in blue whilst the delivery note said brown. The last time I dealt with a company like this was '2 left feet' just before they went bankrupt! I ordered a cabinet and yes it did arrive - but I ordered 'cream', the delivery note said 'fawn' (close enough) but the actual colour is 'brown' - so much for matching our cream kitchen. Good easy website with plenty of pictures and good descriptions of the items.We found what we were looking for and placed a telephone order. These were two seperate orders over two weeks and we spoke to two different sales persons each time. A laughing stock of a company.
Claim 4-10 working days delivery then take literally WEEKS to NOT DELIVER the goods as ordered.
Whether a private customer or a business your money would be better spent by throwing into the north sea than on this shambles.
CS is a trainwreck no tracking numbers different point of contact and story each time you call. Lies told to you to abot delivery dates and they use a different firm to deliver.

I had the worst experience with another online company just before I rang Furnitureatwork. I spoke to sales man and told him that the day delay will occur and I will not be informed of it, I will cancel my order.
So, promised delivery date 48 hours, moved into 2 weeks, but at list they told me it will happen before I paid for my order, so I had a choice to cancel. Order was delivered in parts, one a week, so after 3 weeks I had my two desks, two cupboards and a chair.

Like many reviewers I did not get delivery on time but after being fairly assertive with them it did turn up after just 13 working days which seems to be a record. Staff were pleasant but could not always give me a credible answer. Furniture was good and in good condition - value for money but probably better to get direct from DAMS International. This company are appalling. Having been told that the alaska workstation is in stock I have now waited 6 weeks so far. They are saying it will be a further 5 weeks now before I will take delivery.

I ordered a desk for home from Furniture at work. I explained I needed a Friday delivery. The desk did take about 4 weeks to deliver rather than the 2 they quoted so it may not be worth using this company if you are in a rush. However, after 1 call to query the delivery date I was given a friday date which F@W fulfilled and the quality of the desk I bought is extremely high for the price paid. Furniture at work delivered the wrong piece of furniture, which ended up costing us £70 extra for the assembling and dissambling/putting back in the box. As we are a charity, we asked them if they could give a small discount? They showed no concern or interest. I would never want to deal with this company again.

I didn't want to rate this company at all as they deserve zero rating and that's not allowed! They make promises they don't keep, their website is untruthful,they ignore customer communications and, after making sure things will go badly wrong for their customers, they then offer to make things right but only by getting more money out of you.

Furniture however was of a high quality...
Do not buy if you need furniture in a hurry, as even when I phoned, the person on the other end did not seem to know where my furniture was or when it would be delivered. When i was given the answer of "it should be next week", the furniture arrived the next day!

I ordered a chair. They took the money from my account, and then emailed me to say that the order couldn't be fulfilled. They offered me an alternative chair, but it wasn't what I was looking for, and so asked for a refund, in the email reply. There was no response. I phoned them, and customer services woman tried to persuade me to take a different chair. I said I'd prefer a refund. She persisted, asking me what if she could guarantee the delivery of the first chair I'd ordered? Shouldn't it have been guaranteed the first time? So I had to insist on a refund. She said it would be processed and to expect an email. Nothing all day. I phoned again, and the same woman put me through to someone else, who said it would be cancelled and refunded. I got an automated email telling me that my request was being processed and that it would take up to 48 hours for them to respond. Still waiting. I phoned Consumer Direct, and they said that if the order couldn't be fulfilled, the contract was void, and I should be given a refund promptly. They advised me to get in touch again if I don't get a refund. While I'm waiting, Furniture@Work are no doubt making a small amount of interest on my money while it it sits in their bank accounts. I would never use this company again.
