“Pork Tenderloin plus 15%water and dextrose - AVOID!”

Written on: 26/09/2014 by BrennenQuinn (1 review written)

I bought 3 of these tenderloins and tried to fry as medallions - strange white goo came out, they took ages to cook, tasted odd and the texture was like sponge! Looking VERY closely at the package, in the small print in the ingredients it states '15% water and dextrose'. At the discount price I have just paid 50p for 75mls of water and sugar instead of the pork I wanted. This is awful! Researching this process, it is purely to add weight and increase profit. This is back to 1960s trading at… Read Full Review

“shame about the staff! ”

Written on: 29/07/2014 by Daughertyem458 (1 review written)

The Farm Foods in Torquay, my god above where do they find the staff from? I have witnessed on more than one occasion a queue of customers at one checkout whilst other members of staff look and hurriedly scuttle off out the back for a fag and gossip. Another occasion was when the store was closing and again one checkout, one queue and two members of staff standing at the doors stopping customers from entering. I have even got to a checkout and the operator stood up and just walked off? Once I… Read Full Review

I was shopping in the Tamworth Farmfoods store and a lad kept looking at me weird so I had another look at him and I caught him staring at my breasts so I asked to speak to the manager and he told me to leave the shop very disappointing… Read Full Review

“Shocking terrible horrendous ”

Written on: 24/06/2014 by Sherwoodyj52 (1 review written)

I visited Farmfoods in Wednesbury a few weeks back. There is no better way to mention that the store is a complete and utter disgrace. The staff were miserable unhelpful and unsociable. There were ants on the shop floor around a display of sugar. Towards the entrance of the store, litter was all over the floor which made the store unapproachable. The only positive thing about this store was that the store had a car park in which my car was parked for a fast escape. There was a pretty big queue… Read Full Review

“Bargains Galore!!”

Written on: 06/10/2013 by prcrolla (2 reviews written)

After going into the store (based in Chorley) for some beef burgers, I was surprised to find out that the burgers contained more meat percentage, as well as a lower price tag than other supermarket brands that I shop at. Many other items in store are fantastic, especially the LA Diner range. However, I find the shop to be very small and the aisles are narrow. Also, the staff members are not lively (though they are courteous) and I would love to see the staff members with a huge smile on… Read Full Review

“Hard to find better value”

Written on: 20/03/2013

I have shopped at farmfoods for some years now and go to our local shop every week, the staff are friendly and helpful and the shop is laid out well, the thing I particulaly like is the fact that they do not keep on moveing things around as some supermarkets do which does save on time spent looking for things, on the whole i find farmfoods to be very handy as I don't have to carry heavy things a long way just trolly it to the car. keep up the good work farmfoods… Read Full Review

“No bad for cheap fodder!”

Written on: 10/07/2012 by JohnHatterson (8 reviews written)

I cannae say that the food at farmfoods is the best in the world. Most of it is cheap and it shows, but for what ya pay it isnae bad! I use it for getting frozen stuff, which is great. But to get it supercheap ya have to buy a lot - which means ya end up eatin the same thing day after day. Still without farmfood I doubt I could eat half as well as I do. I certainly couldnae get the same from tesco or morrsions - so until they sort their proce out, it'll be farmfoods for me … Read Full Review

“Surprisingly good - give it a chance”

Written on: 22/06/2012 by squarehair123 (1 review written)

I've walked past Farmfoods every day for about two years without going in, and in all honesty I was never ever tempted. The advertising was so awful, just watching it made me feel cheap. In fact I used to rant to dinner guests that Farmfoods was having the converse effect of a Waitrose nearby (It was reducing the value of our property). Anyway, one day on the way home I broke my duck. I went in there some milk. Not a big deal, but unless I had the necessary errand I might never have gone in… Read Full Review

“You'd be surprised”

Written on: 11/04/2012 by Squarehair (4 reviews written)

I wasn't convinced. The TV adverts do it no favours. It is clearly targeting lower socio-economic groups, but.... It's great. OK, my expections weren't that high, but the staff they have in my local farm foods are amazing! I honesty haven't been in many shops were they are that helpful, friendly etc. Yes, I know that they are promopted by the til to say certain things, but they always go a lot further. I shop in Sainsbury's (alot). It's the closest supermarket to my work and I only wish that… Read Full Review

“Bag of bones”

Written on: 03/04/2012 by avionbox (1 review written)

I love spare ribs but avoid the L.A diner ribs from Farmfoods, When you bite into what you think is meat your jaw stops closing almost straight away because your teeth hit bone. Very small amount of meat so you pay £3.50 for a bag of bones but my dog likes that, then i'm off to the fridge for something to eat. the staff in my local Acocks Green branch never offer too help you load the bags. One staff member,Louise is so grumpy and looks at people like they are dirt and she's Ajax,I think Danni… Read Full Review

“Not too shabby”

Written on: 29/02/2012 by Spike007 (1 review written)

Farmfoods is a very good shop which I commonly frequent; often on my way to College. I think the deals there are great, but the staff are a bit too slow to recognise that there are people at the tills, they are otherwise stacking shelves, either in the front or the back. Home bargains is also very good as another guest stated beforehand, and I concur that I will be going to Home Bargains in the future for essentials, shower stuff, but definitely food for Farmfoods, whereas the Home bargains do… Read Full Review

“homebargains is cheaper!”

Written on: 07/06/2011

I've shopped at Farmfoods for a number of years, and used to be a fan of their cheap prices for reasonable brands. They were so much cheaper than the supermarkets such as Tesco (and still are. However, recently they have put their prices up - 69p for a packet of fig rolls - no chance when they're only 39p across the road at Home Bargains. The bread offer (2 for £1.50) is still good though, but it does seem to be these offers that are the best value. I just think they need to be a bit careful… Read Full Review

Written on: 07/05/2011

as i am a morrisons shopper i was getting something for lunch, but cannock seems a bit tame as it is only a smaller one compared to the one we regularly use at bilston, so i new there was a farmfoods at cannock shopping centre, so i went there, outside it looks somewhat attractive, plenty of offers and in a nice area, seeing about 6 or 7 shoppers with bags before hand i guess it must be good, but the store is very dark, quiet and of course somethings harder to find, although they have plenty of… Read Full Review

“I live in Fort William the Highlands of Scotland and...”

Written on: 13/08/2010 by AnaisElaine (1 review written)

I live in Fort William the Highlands of Scotland and sadly Farmfoods is my only freezer store. I have bought food from there 3 times now, and I have to say the quality is really bad, it seems to me that the so called low prices reflect the quality of food. I can honestly say, I will NOT be shopping there again even though the staff are friendly and helpful the food is very low quality.
Sorry Farmfoods, maybe you should take a leaf out of Icelands book, and sell top quality food at good… Read Full Review
