    Bad Points: I felt they didn't provide any service to me when the product went bad.


    General comments: Barneys New York - About a year ago, I purchased a $1,400.00 Prada hand bag at its downtown Seattle Barneys New York store. I noticed the finish of leather wearing off where it had rubbed against my clothing after three or four days' use. I went back to the store and explained the situation to the sales person who handled my purchase. They tried to explain to me that the store can't do anything for it. When I insisted that they do something about it, he then brought a manager.They basically told me that Barneys cannot do anything about it but seemed to be trying to avoid any kind of further service on it. They said the wear of the finish of the leather is part of 'beauty' and also tried to explain to me that things get worn out, comparing to cashmere sweaters. I do not believe a $1,400.00 bag can wear off after four days' use! If they were in my situation, I'm sure they would seek the same service I was seeking! It was apparent that they were not going to provide any type of service for this product and it made me realize that Barney's New York store is not the right place for me to shop in the future. I would think twice before shopping in this store again.
