I have insured my 4x4 with these people for over 3 years. Got 3 weeks left on the policy and brought a car, sureterm won't insure it, to cancel a fully paid up policy with 3 weeks left to run they are demanding £50. Have 2 asked for a manager to ring me back, still waiting, staff are great when taking out a policy but stroppy when you want to cancel and go some where as, this sort of service is shocking, will never use them again (read more)

Just sold my 4x4 and bought a car sureterm want over double what everyone else wants to insure my new car. I decided to cancel my old car policy to be told the they want £91 cancelation fee. I have already paid 8 months of my 12 month policy that is only going to run 8 months. They have said I still have to pay for the full year policy. I have experienced a lot of problems with Sureterm Direct Limited. I have in total 30 years no claims bonus. All recorded. I had insured a 4x4 with Sureterm earlier this year. I gave them all the details and confirmation of no claim bonus. However they sent me a Notice of Cancellation because they did not receive any details of a 'Gap' in my previous policies? I bought 2 policies with sureterm, one vehicle i sold 10 months into the 12 month policy, I let them know.... Big mistake! They said as i had sold it, i had to cancel the policy and that the charge for this would be £30!! the premium which was fully paid was only £110! My second policy which is due to renew in May i will not renew, as they have just told me that they have forgot to take my payments since i took it out... Last year having taken out the car insurance through go compare i was told i was covered after ringing and speaking to one of the employees at sureterm direct. a day later i was stopped by the police while driving and told i was uninsured and my car could be siezed at the side of the road i finally managed to convince the police officer myself that i had taken the isurance out and he agreed to allow me to produce my documents at the police station within 24hrs. when i checked the MID... This company are a joke, i insured with them 2 months ago and still have no certificate even though i have phoned them several times and i get the same reply, "we will post it today" so i have a car now for 3 months that i cant drive as i have no evidence that i am insured. Getting caught with no insurance these days is 6 points a hefty fine and they sieze your car, if they wont even send a certificate then i doubt they would settle a claim. Renewed with them for s second year and they took off being able to drive to work!! 4 months later they then said I hadn't delcared the milage. Phoned to cancel 5 months into policy and they won't refund a Penny. I'm so glad I have not insured my new car with them. Sureterm Direct DO NOT inspire any convidence at all that your vehicle is fully protected with them. I've now insured my car with someone else (big name insurance) cheaper and with more cover than they offered. (read more)

After making a claim I have discovered that Sureterm have no knowledge or commitment to the classic car market. I have had a nightmare making a claim during which time one employee admitted that they are just a subsidiary and that there is no specialist knowledge which means that you are on your own making a claim - then they hammer up your premium having promised it would not make a difference. Once my policy was coming to an end, I looked around and found it cheaper elsewhere, have now taken that policy out, but my current insurers are STILL waiting for Sureterm you release NCD information after a month!! Everytime you try to phone Sureterm to chase them up, you spend at least 10 minutes on hold waiting for an agent, then another 10 minutes on hold while the agent speaks to their boss about it. We sold our 4x4 but they could not insure our new car so when we cancelled the policy they charged. A £50 fee which was theirs and not the insurance. Very average customer services and charges for absolutely everything . I would not recommend or use them again as they are driven first by money and then a very distant second on customer servce (read more)

By far the cheapest quote for my Suzuki Jimny, only £177.00 fully comprehensive. I did it all on-line but found the acceptance criteria a bit pernickety, for instance, I had to get a letter from my previous insurer to prove my NCB even though that information is on the industry database. Cancelled insurance policy that was paid up in full but with 5 months to run. They wanted £20 more out of me for the privilege even though they had effectively reduced the insurance term by 5 months! The advisor that dealt with me was very aggressive on the phone and the supervisor was completely useless to the point of not even being unable to understand my frustration. Quick to quote and take your money - service terrible. A young lady ran into our motorhome on a roundabout in Bradford - she was on the phone and speeding, all her fault. Sureterm passed our case to a firm of solicitors - Carpenters- who are also useless.They never ring to give updates and do not seem at all bothered about the outcome. I never write reviews on companies, but often check the reviews on companies I intend to use, I did see several poor reviews on the company but as the price was cheap still went ahead. I was originally attracted to Sureterm due to their low classic insurance premiums. I contacted Sureterm by email twice to inform them of a change of vehicle and did not get a response. I phoned on 31 May and was on hold over 10 minutes so gave up, I honed again and was answered after 12 minutes, it then took over 20minutes to sort out the change. Just wait until you want to cancel the policy. I have called them as have sold my 4x4 and bought a car which they are charging £600 for insurance when all other quotes with everyone else has come out below £300. To cancel my insurance after paying 8 monthly instalments and only having 4 months of the policy left they want £91 basically the advisor said the whole policy charge. I have insured through them for nearly 5 years will never use them again and will make sure everyone knows who they are dealing with. Will also be reporting them to watchdog.

Been insured with sureterm for two years, on a 1983 series 3 1.25 petrol land rover, zero accidents during the policy term, first year was £270 under classic car insurance, second year, £230. This year, £593. When i rang them up and asked why, they said that my car no longer fit the requirements to qualify for classic car coverage and was now being quoted under standard car insurance. I agree with you, I have had two cars insured with them for two you totalling £550 per year for both cars and called the other day to chane my address and I was informed by them that the current provider (Enterprise) would not insure me at my new address 2 miles down the road. But they had new provider tat would insure me for £1200 per car.

First of all I find it an absolute mystery as to why any one would score this more than a 1, I find this very, very suspicious? If there was a possibility of giving this a minus score I would. Reasons being - Almost impossible to contact, no response from emails and very difficult to get money from if you need a refund. Ridiculous charges and hidden rules. I insured my knock about Jeep Cherokee (Value £600) with this firm last year for a very reasonable £202 TPFT... I do less than 2000 miles a year in this car. The year was uneventful and I didn't make a claim. I had the renewal quote through for a whopping £646. I rang them up to confirm... yes indeed it was 3.2 times last years quote.. I have no dealings with the insurance company - only taken because really really cheap policy but you get what you pay for - until it came time to cancel after selling the car WOW talk about being held to ransom. 2 weeks it took to get my no claims as 'outstanding payments' i only paid £24 a month but the 'charges' (they made up) came to almost £70. Beware if you need to cancel your insurance. Through no fault of our own we had to cancel our policy. Was quite happy to pay the £30.00 cancellation fee as per terms and conditions. We were amazed when we recieved a bill from them for 119.00 which was only £5.00 short of the whole year policy taking into account what we had paid. phoned up to change my jeep to a landy, had to do as and when needed, ie at the garage i bought my land rover from, spoke to Rebecca Barrable, what a pleasure she sure knows her stuff, she had me swopped over in no time and sent a copy of the amendment to my email address as asked, (anpr) and the police, and the ask md taking a while to be up dated, so very chuffed, £30 for the service is a little poor but all do it now a days, 10/10 sureterm direct. We renewed with them on the phone and went on holiday for a few weeks. Whilst away we were sent a recorded delivery letter that we had to sign and return to them to continue with the policy. We got back, picked up the letter from the post office a few days after returning and read our policy had been cancelled that day because we had not returned this letter!!! Do not insure with these people. Took out cover on a Jeep cherokee but had to cancel after 1 week due to problems with the car which was returned to dealer. Paid insurance in full. but They sent me a bill for £180 cancellation. Reported them to the OFT and they quickly backed down. I recently took out a policy with Sureterm, I accidently forgot to fill out the reverse of the form, so they sent it back and said please complete. Fair enough, they then wacked on £40 charge as they said it was an adjustment, this is 35% of the yearly premium, I explainde, but they said sorry thats the charge, I asked to be called back and after 4 days and several emails, still heard nothing.
