My kitchen sink has been draining slowly for some time, but recently became worse, I was reluctant to use a chemical unblocker, but decided to after plunging and bicarb and vinegar had failed to unblock it, I chose Mr Muscle sink unblocker. I poured the thick liquid down the plughole as advised, the blockage isn't far down the pipe and I knew it wasn't going to work when the liquid rose above the plughole, an hour later it had hardly moved, I poured some hot water on it to see if that... This product does not work. My kitchen sink was blocked and draining slowly. The ( large) plughole was full of water but as the product review claims it powers through water i poured it into the plug hole. It didn't even get through the water and just overflowed so I now have a sink of chemicals. Brilliant. (read more)

After reading some of the reviews i thought it would not work I used it in my shower as the water drained extremely slow and was almost overflowing in the tray. I used the foam mr muscle and poured it into the trap it foamed up instantly so when foam went poured in rest of bottle and again it foamed up i left it overnight and it worked fine in the morning It was blocked in the pipes we think as trap looked fine so it must go into the pipes and do its job there too it does its job we'll 5... Purchased a bottle for kitchen sink but two normal healthy people were unable to remove the top! Tried for over 10 minutes each and finally had to pierce the bottle to get at contents. Even with bottle empty top would not open so returned it to S.C. Johnson. Received a really sniffy letter saying that the top wasn't faulty and that 'child resistant tops' had to be more difficult to open. Didn't even refund the postage but 'thanked me for bringing it to their attention'. (read more)

I have a bathroom sink that has a bottle trap fitted that is susceptable to getting clogged up with soap, toothpaste, hair etc. It is a real faff to dismantle and clean out due to where it is located. I noticed that the sink was slow to drain again, and so thought I'd see what products were out there that I could try to flush through and remove the blockage/build up. I followed the instructions, left for the instructed length of time and then tried to flush with hot water. Unfortunately the... (read more)

My kitchen sink started to drain very slowly since this morning and was getting worse by evening, i tied to plung it but it was no use, i was really getting worried that i had to call a plumber but just thought would give a try with caustic soda or any unblocking chemical, so I went to Tesco and they only had mr. Muscle brand so bought this unbloacker and poured the whole content in the kitchen sink, to be honest I was not hoping that it will clear the block as the water was not moving at... (read more)

I had a big problem, my kitchen sink had got progressively more sluggish at draining until it finally came to a stop almost and took ages to empty. The plunger could not shift it, and I was worried about the cost cos thought I would have to call in a plumber, but I saw this product in tescos and thought I would give it a try -it was 30p cheaper than the Domestos unblocker but the blurb implied it was the same so got this one, the cheaper one.... I got home, unscewed the bottle, stuck it... (read more)

Easy to buy, easy to use and solves the problem in no time at all.I loved this product because it saved me a fortune in plumbers bills. Just pour the liquid slowly down the plughole. The gel like liquid cuts through any standing water and dissolves the hair and soap scum. All for £3.00. To think I never slept last night because I thought I would be faced with a huge plumbers bill.Highly recommended. (read more)

Just had to write this, had a blockage in the bathroom sink (Soap scrum), got it cleared however it just blocked the pipe to the bath. Began to panic but ran to Sainsbury and got the product, it was brillant. Took longer than 15 minutes but certainly did the trick, fantastic. It was £3 and overall this was value for money. Would have cost me at least 20 times that to get a plumber to look at it. (read more)

sorry I have just spent 15 minutes trying to get the bottle open- there are diagrams on the lid 1 in an arrow- 2 turning- and 3 ??? I have tried pushing down and turning and twisting in every direction, even pushing down and using one of those bottle opening tools for arthritic hands- which just left the lid all scratched. Igf I cannot get in I cannot write a review of the product at all. It was very expensive and at this rate it is going back to Morrisons for a refund- scratched lid or not!... (read more)

Excellent product that cleared my blocked sink.
Had to use the whole bottle and leave overnight as it was quite a large blockage, but it certainly did the trick.
I would recommend this to anyone.
yes it is a bit pricey at £3.50 and yes you do have to use the whole bottle, but £3.50 is a lot cheaper then playing a plumber call out fee, and takes less effort then using a plunger.

Despite all the adverts, I don't think Mr Muscle Sink & Plughole unblocker is strong enough. It took ages to work and then didn't take away the blockage. (read more)

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I have opened many child resistant bottle tops in my time but when this one was depressed it was locked in place defying all reasonable twisting efforts. Before going for the piercing option I will return to the store and challenge any member of staff (or passing body-builder) to open it for me. MB Derby
