    Having insurance with eCar or with its sister companies is complete waste of money. They just take your money and disappear. They are not replying my emails which is the only way you can communicate with them.

    I took out car insurance for both me and partner with ecarinsurance.com as they were the only company I could find that would give temporary car insurance to cover us while we took delivery of a new car. I have never had to deal with such a horrible company. The first correspondance that I got demanded I send my V5 in within 7 days or my insurance would be cancelled. I received two threatening letters dated the same date and a threatening email over this - I provided what they requested and then ...

    Just moved to ecar insurance, and now wish I had not (should have read the reviews) Their policy quotes are much cheaper and in return for this you receive a low budget service with high risks and unfair penalties attached. This is not a customer friendly company - my advice is go somewhere_else.com

    Just moved to ecar insurance, and now wish I had not (should have read the reviews) Their policy quotes are much cheaper and in return for this you receive a low budget service with high risks and unfair penalties attached.     I took out car insurance with ECAR when I passed my test in May 2008 Throughout the first 12 months with ECAR and I never had a problem with them On taking out my renewal ECAR asked me to send a copy of my driver's license and I advised them that I did not have this and so they sent me a mandate form to fill in and I filled it in.     e car, why oh why did I not think, I am so dissapointed with my self, why did I think saving money on my car insurance would be a good idea. e car insurance; e mail insurance company only, faceless, cold, uncaring, uncompromising.     No Problems for first year - but then again no claims!
    Windscreen claim second year - over two years on and still not sorted! they don't respond to any emails, and costs £1 per minute to call. avoid!

    I also wish I had read this site before signing up wth eCar. I needed to drive my mum's car very soon after taking out the policy and it did not cover me to do so, so I cancelled it within the 'cooling off' period and got fully comprehensive with another company. That was nearly two months ago and I have still not had my money back. They owe me nearly £600 and although they do respond to all my emails, they just give excuses, the latest being that an internal audit is delaying the payme ...

    It is easy to follow the cheapest but DONT. I would rather sell my own bodily parts than go with these. Big prob, they are internet only and they ARE internet only. Its impossible to alter anything with these idiots unless by email. I got the opportunity to pick my car up an hour early. It cost £1.50 a minute to get that changed. DO NOT GO WITH THESE. YOU ARE FOREVER CHASING YOUR TAIL. IF YOU EVER HAD A CLAIM I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW AWEFUL IT WOULD BE ....They are pathetic.

    This is the worst insurance company possilbe . they never take the money out on the same date and have the worst customer service i ahve ever come accross.

    i agree with a few comments below has any1 ever reported this company to Watchdog maybe then i could get some of my money back .

    I wonder if anyone can help me...

    Me and my partner recently changed our insurance to Ecar and was advised that payment would be taken each month for the insurance. However, i have literally just noticed that not one payment has been taken out of my account from Pancacea (their finance company) but from Conister Trust Plc. Is this correct?

    I have tried to email them as you cant call but still waiting on a response. Having read your reviews i now know that Conister Trust Plc are to do with Ecar ...

    AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!

    Find and dandy until you have an accident

    Had an accident last xmas eve, not my fault, was told by them(ELDON who are E-CARS lawyers)that my car was worth less than my excess so I never received a payment.     Please steer clear of this company. They are only an online company Mon- Fri 8 til 8. They do not return emails unless threatened by the ombudsman.
    Cancelled my policy as they claimed I did not send my no claims proof. But I did and they had already confirmed they had received the document by email. complete disaster company. Keep away They dont deserve even one star

    This company is a nightmare to deal with dont go near them. They insured me and then cancelled my policy saying they did not receive my drivers licence and counterpart and I scanned this to them and then sent copies as well. Nobody replies to your emails and they are now charging £75 for administration costs which is a rip off and if I'm lucky I might get some money back after them taking nearly £300 for one months insurance what a con.
