Managed to get a great deal with a B&Q Cooke & Lewis kitchen - yes it is a re-branded IT kitchen but the quality is not bad and for the price that I paid it is an awesome deal. I spent a long time deciding where to get my kitchen from - others had better quality but at a much higher price. To cut a long story short - I got a £14k kitchen (original quote from B&Q with fitting) for under £6k. Saved £3k by fitting it myself, another £1k by getting the appliances elsewhere (Prompt Online & Jual Domestics), £2k gettig the solid surface worktop rom the manufacture (worktops.org - Sheridans) and got £2k off the cabinet costs by using B&Qs price match. It took some persistance and tact to get B&Q to price match the kitchen with IKEA's kitchens, but after several trips to B&Q armed with paperwork and proof from IKEA they eventually buckled (only offered price match and did not include the 10% extra off). IKEA kitches are also good but they did not have exactly what we were after - do not take answers from B&Q staff as gospel - "IKEA is not as good quality as B&Q and we have 18mm carcasses, they don't" quotes like these are all wrong - IKEA are the same if not slightly better quality - anyway don't take no for an answer, keep asking why they will not price match then go away and prove their answer wrong and ask again until they run out of reasons and give in. Be nice and polite to the staff and you'll get even more!

Wasn't impressed with the sales process at all - had to go through the order with a fine tooth comb and readjust several items that were incorrect or surplus. Didn't get B&Q to fit as they quoted £3000 to fit, I found a reputable fitter who done the job for £700. I basically left the fitter to get on with it, and I was really pleased with the end result however, when I went to help with the clear up of the boxes in the garden I found my Cooke & Lewis kitchen that I had ordered was a ...

We had our B & Q kitchen fitted in May and they have just come back to redo most of it - it is now the end of September! This has been the worst experience ever. The easy part is planning your kitchen. The customer service is awful and I would never recommend to anyone to get a B & Q kitchen. It might look nice in the shop and on the adverts, but I can assure you what you see is NOT what you get.

Nice kitchen, let down by poor customer service

The quality of the kitchen units is pretty good. The price was good too, but that's where the plaudits end.

The salesman turned up late and left early because he wanted to get home to watch the football. When his quote arrived he had priced it wrongly.

I have a friend who is a kitchen fitter and he redrew the B&Q plan to make it work. We got it repriced in store, where the customer service was pretty good.

The goods arrived correctly and on tim ...

    B & Q Kitchen....DON'T DO IT!

Really don't.....I don't have a spare week to detail the ongoing appalling customer service and inferior product shambles that our B&Q Kitchen experience has been. Put it this way,it got so bad after being fitted last year we wrote a letter of complaint to the Managing Director and got a "refund" of £1500 and a bundle of excuses and how they were improving customer experience etc. Lo and behold we have another fault this year and the service is just as bad... ...

just had my cooke and lewis kitchen fitted and must say what a rip off for a designer kitchen?? We have now found out it's the same product as the stuff you pick up from the shelf. Very clever adverts and advertising make you thinks its a new product. At the end of the day you pay for what you get, will not be getting another kitchen from B & Q. Flat pack Flat crap..

I was a B&Q fitter ,until they tried to improve their service, by going to a so called dsp (districted service provider). I then had a 20% drop in money from the installation fee which was taken by the dsp Bridgend. Then had to wait for 30 or more days to be paid , when they have your money up front ie 2 or more months before installation date .They are suppose to check and open every item before delivery (they don!t). The last 7 out of 10 fits i done they were not finished (ie no appliances, mis ...

We saw B+Q kitchen designer for a short while - he was late and had to leave early to get home to look after kids so his wife could go to work! In the end we modified his design. Several calls from company about delivery with a letter offering 2nd May and a call offering 2nd June.On 2nd June the driver called to say he couldn't deliver due to bumpy road. Dust cart comes every week - no problem. Asked local store to take delivery and we would hire van to collect - agreed. Telephoned driver and hi ...

We bought a kitchen for fitting in February 09 and was lucky that they held over the sale price and 0% deal for us. So good service there, BUT!
The fitters have arrived more than a day late and dropped from two to one guy by the end of the week and are well behind. Then the bombshell! THE FITTERS HAVE GONE INTO ADMINISTRATION!!!! We now have half a fitted kitchen, no cooking or washing facilities and we are living out of our conservatory! Thanks B & Q!!!!! Who knows how this will get resolved?! ...

i bought my kitchen from b&q in Newry Northern Ireland.
I must say the staff there were extremely friendly. the designer called out to my house. He designed me a fantastic looking kitchen there and then, complete with price, colour pics etc.
I tried other local places (reading some revies) thought maybe not go to b&q, but I am glad i went to b&q. they were the most helpful, had great choice and i have to say I waited 11 weeks for my kitchen to be fitted but what a fantastic job.I bought cook & l ...

I have just bought a B & Q IT kitchen of the shelf had great service by the two staff but we were there 3 hours. We asked them to deliver and we received it when they said but we had one item that wasn't on the original advice note and we were missing one panel which we saw put on the pallet ourselves. Mysteriously they have had to re-order it and we don't know when we will get it. I have read the reviews about the shaker kitchens and that is what we have bought I will let you know how it go ...

I enjoyed reading the reviews, it has made my mind up not to go to B and Q for my new kitchen, think I will stick to Howdens. B and Q have tried to rip me off with the price of fitting and telling me I needed things when I didn't. I have tried to complain but no one is interested. I asked if I could by the units and have thm fitted myself but I would let them fit the Onyx worktop which I had set my heart on, they said unless they fitted the whole kitchen they wouldn't sell me the work top. Who d ...

We had 6 different companies quote for our kitchen, B&Q were the only company who actually came to our house & designed the kitchen in full including installation there & then, left us the full itemised quote including great colour pictures. We went for the B&Q quote as the others were a no brainer. B&Q weren't the cheapest, MFI were, but their quote excluded supplementary works. The showroom staff in Llandudno B&Q are wonderfull & the designer was fantastic, he gave us a price on the night and ...

I would not recommend anybody having thier kitchen installed by b&q contracted installers.
I ordered my kitchen on 18th july 2008 having chosen an onyx worktop only to be told that they would only supply and fit the kitchen with this type of worktop.
I agreed as thier salesman told me that it would be installed within 8 weeks.
During August i recieved a call from complete kitchen fitting service(b&q contractors)that my start date was to be 1st of October) .
1st of October came having taken 2 day ...

B&Q Kitchens have great customer service, they all knew their stuff. Installation service fantastic, they installed my kitchen with the highest possible standard, and they arrived when they said they would and finished when they said they would. Everything arrived in great condition, all at the same time. The design was fantastic she gave me good practical advice, and made all space usuable. my kitchen has become the room most used in my house. I wouold recommend B&Q to anyone, most people are ...

After looking about many local kitchen suppliers we decided on B&Q Kitchens. What appealed to us was the designer coming to our house and giving us a quotation there and then down to the last penny.
All was well until our fitter (not B&Q at £75 per unit), looked at the plans supplied and the amount of bits we did not need. B&Q had sold us colour coded end panels that are hidden by our washing machine or wall cupboards. They even sold us cloths for cleaning our worktops! Our worktops wer ...
