Kitchen delivered one worktop damaged. Phoned constantly for 3weeks and told everyday another delivery date ....put on hold constantly or cut off. After three weeks and large phone bill ...Still no replacement work top.....please please listen to reviews as this company and their staff are not worth your time or money ....AVOID AVOID AVOID ...beware . A danger to your health, sanity and wallet

I completely understand your comment. Especially about being a danger to your health / safety. By law any modification of an electrical circuit must be certified, and the electrician supplies the certificate to the customer....Kitchens direct recommend the installer Alan Low who when asked retrospectively agreed to supply a certificate but only if we paid for it. They are not happy with our review, and Alan Love one of the senior managers actually threatend repercussions because of it... They should not be allowed to operate

I have had experience of this company in the past, absolutely awful!!! The workmanship is dreadful, one door they put up wasn't hung properly, when you opened it, the door of the cupboard next to it opened as well!! Wouldn't give them house room.

“I wish I'd have read this first!”

I applaud you all to stay away, parts missing, damaged, really poor quality materials too. Was on hold on two occasions for an hour and a half. Buy at your own risk but your fitter will moan like hell too.

I fitted this kitchen and must say it was the worst kitchen I have ever fitted, the quality is rubbish, the amount of missing bits was a joke, nothing to secure the sink, nothing to secure the hob, wall backets missing, brackets to secure piece under oven missing, 1 wall unit missing, 1 base unit missing. The paper work is rubbish, no fitting instructions (not that I need them but if you are not a kitchen fitter you would really struggle) there are no holes for doors to be fitted to units so you have to line up and drill yourself and the same for the drawers, the colour of the units was stated as soft white but they are actually lilac. Over all a complete and utter nightmare of a kitchen and a company that doesn't care about the customer. I feel sorry for anyone that buys from this company. If you are in any doubt about how bad they are please read other reviews below and then AVOID at all costs....

“WARNING! !! DON'T DO IT!. ”

Cheap nasty materials... Parts missing or broken.... put on hold numerous times, no one called back. Personal insults and abuse via mobile from staff. No managing director, no head office, no complaints procedure...must have something to do with the fact they went into administration in 2011... hence why they trade under 2 names!. Trading standards now involved in MY personal case. No guarantees, no recipe please read claws 19 on the plan. Download the supply of goods and service act 1982. Buyer beware. Cash only!! Umm??. Very unhappy customer!.

“Kitchen ”

We're do I begin what a company if you can call them that first of all they delivered the kitchen and several units not there or damaged .rang them next day to having to wait for half an hour on the Phone i went through what was missing guy on the end of the phone filled out another order and then hung up. I rang back to find out when the missing items would be delivered to then be given an answer 'when a van is in your area' I then gave them five days no delivery. I rang again to wait yet another half hour to be Told that it was being delivered the day after . They did deliver the items but when we checked yet again they sent the wrong thickness work top ,delivery did eventually come well nearly the driver rang my husband to be told they had not even put the work top on the van. Bloody joke we are now waiting yet again my advice stay well away from this company .....

“out of business?”

not sure if this company has gone out of business or just extremely bad follow up. had a kitchen fitted couple of months ago, have now found problem with all pipe work behind units and cant get any contact from them. apparently, all pipe work done wrong, so all units have to come out and be refitted by another company

“Bunch of incompetents! ”

I haven't even unpacked the kitchen units yet and I'm already finding this company a complete nightmare And I'm so glad, after reading these reviews , that we have a friend who is fitting for us! We had the units delivered as told on 20th Aug and had been informed that the granite work tops would be delivered the next day. Needless to say they weren't and after numerous phone calls, none of which were returned, we still have no date for delivery as they only have one guy that delivers on a weekend only and he is on holiday!! We have taken time off work, complained about inconvenience and no explaination as to the appalling lack if communication and service. No good will gesture as apparently it's not that departments fault, which makes no sense at all! Oh and expect at least 20 mins on hold when you call them! Would never recommend these bunch of incompetents to anyone!!

“Nightmare don't use them! ”

Had a kitchen fitted with appliances fitted,they completely tried to change our design and give us cupboards that we didn't ask for .if we wanted standard units we would of fitted them ourself.still had to wait for delivery of units 6 weeks after it had been delivered.finally put work tops in and then had to refit them as they were the wrong size.after unit was fitted fisher didn't work the list is way to long to go on and on...just don't use them...bloody nightmare

“Very pushy”

We boked a visit from this company when comsidering a new kitchen. Our housewas not big, the kitchen was smaller than average and yet they still quoted us 20 k. Serously, even with all their salesman talk and discounts they stil wanted over 10k. Imonly had two specific requests, a particular sink type, and space for a dishwasher. They said neither could fit in my kitchen so no. The woman was here for 7 hours before finally leaving. I even went out shopping during her visit and left my husband dealing with her. She was still there when i got home. Needless to say we didnt use them, we went to Wickes who designed our kitchen, including my two Specific requirements, and therice was a quarter of that KD offered.

RUBBISH
I bought a kitchen from this Company I wish I had read the reviews. They are a nightmare they delivered half the cupboards in January and even April after several phone calls and emails I am no nearer getting what I ordered.
The salesman had no idea about the type of cupboards required his plan left a lot to be desired. The cupboards look cheap and tacky. What I ordered was not what was sent.
Their customer service leave a lot to be desired.
Cheap kitchen is exactly what it is. Dont touch it.

“WORKTOPS FADING”

Have been trying to find kitchens direct phone number and a website to send an e-mail, reason being as the worktops they had fitted have faded and gone rather patchy and have only been put in 2 1/2 yrs ago. This to me is not good enough and it is my elderly parents kitchen. Still trying to find a web site if anybody out there has any info let us know please Until then carry on hunting Terrie

“Don't use them ”

I had a kitchen fitted by kitchens direct in November 2009 and although the Kitchen itself is OK I have had nothing but trouble with the TECNIK range cooker that was supplied , and now to top it all of I've just turned it on to get an ELECTRIC SHOCK and a big spark and bang, when I found my guarantee and tried to call both kitchens direct and Tecnik I've been told that the phone numbers are no longer on service. Does anyone PLEASE have a contact no for either of them I would be most grateful. With much thanks a very DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE

“Not Good.”

Quality OK but fitting shocking. Huge holes left in wall and covered with a piece of hardboard after complaint. Hob cut-out wrong size. Lowere kick panels huge gaps. Back splash edging strips falling off and glue residue left everywhere. Plumbing cut outs huge for no reason. Complaints met with abuse. Unit doors cut to fit, with chipped edges covered up with white stick-on tape. New door eventually supplied but wrong size again. Endless problems. Finally did the finishing myself to avoid more butchery to our kitchen.I could have understood the use of semi trained "fitters" if it was cheap, but it wasn't!

“No obligation - yeah right!”

I had arranged to have a design fitting tomorrow. I've just taken a call to confirm the booking only to be told that if I didn't purchase the kitchen on the day, there was no point in them coming round. I find this an absolutely shocking service, as if I'm going to part with thousands of pounds at the drop of a hat. If this is their idea of a no obligation service, then they're frighfully wrong. Don't touch with a bargepoll.

we have recently had a kitchen fittd by kitchesn direct. The sales guy was courteous and not pushy. The surveyor ws thorough and ended up provding extra sockets but there was no extra cost. The fitter (David) was absolutely brilliant. We had an incorrect unit shipped but this arrived the following day. We also has an issue post install which Dave came to investigate and fix the following day (the problem turned out ot be nothing to do with his installation!). The install was hassle free and woudl have no hesitation in recommending them.

The problem with Kitchen direct is they dont take no for an answer. If you say no initially then they will hound you for years, constantly calling you and refusing to take you off of their database. It is over 2 years since I contacted them and then decidied not to proceed, yet I am still being called at least once a week from them.

I would not recommend Kitchens Direct to anyone! The sales team was ok the surveyor was excellent as were the fitters, however the cooker came with no handles and have spent the last six weeks! Arguing with the aftercare team to receive them and as of yet we still do not have them! We have to be extremely careful when cooking as it is very easy to get burnt, which happened to my daughter when cooking and she had to go to A&E to receive treatment on a very nasty burn. Upon informing the aftercare team I was informed it was my responsibility for allowing my daughter to touch the cooker. She is 24 years of age and I cannot ban here from using it!! Since I have informed them of this they have dodged my calls advised they would phone back and havent and are trying everything they can to get of giving me a straight answer. Please save yourself alot of time, money and heartache and avoid them at all costs!!!

IF things go wrong they have no insurance so no come back .
They will withhold information to avoid paying out for there mistakes ,dug a trench in my kitchen floor and caused £60,000 damage ,still avoiding to pay to put it right

I have just had a black gloss kitchen installed by kitchens direct by James and I must say I am extremely happy with it. The kitchen itself isn't huge but we had a new integrated fridge freezer and double oven. The installer himself didn't do the tiling but we didn't add this to the cost of the kitchen we found our own. Kitchens direct need to hold onto James as he went out of his way to make sure that the kitchen was done on time. They sent one of the cupboard doors in the wrong colour, so rather than waiting unto 2 weeks for a replacement, he went to the warehouse to collect it. He's done an excellent job. I gave it 4 stars for value for money as it is an expensive kitchen, however it's exactly how we wanted it in terms of layout etc.

“I am a Kitchen Direct designer and am looking to do...”

I am a Kitchen Direct designer and am looking to do something else as it just doesn't pay. The kitchens are good quality and the fitting service etc is excellent but they are just too expensive. We have also got to include £835 on all orders to cover removal and disposal. I have left this off an order to make the price less expensive and where the customer does his own removal resulting in a severe loss of commission. I even have to apply this fee to newbuild properties where ther is no kitchen to remove and only a few cardboard boxes to dispose of.
As I dont actually get paid, this is significant. I also have to charge £215 to fit customer's own washing machine. Often the pipework and electric socket is already there but I have to charge this for 10 minutes work conecting the thing up. You can BUY a washing machine for that. If KD were more reasonably priced and didn't rip people off for removal and disposal and fitting customers own appliances then the customers, the designers and Kitchens Direct themselves would all be better off.

After having the visit from the sales person, which did take a long time, 3
+ hours, we went ahead and signed up for a kitchen. I then read the reviews and panic began to set it. I had a few sleepless nights. What had I done? I need not have worried as they sent a fitter called Stuart Lawrence and he was fantastic. Very particular in everything from the inspection to see if anything was missing on the first day and phoning in to get them there the next day, which they were, to positioning of handles to my liking. He went the extra mile every day to make sure that I was satisfied with the work. He cleared away each evening and left as tidy as possible. He kept in contact and made sure he was there when he said he would.

Kitchens Direct themselves kept in touch with me to make sure that I was satisfied with the work and that the tradesmen had arrived as arranged.

I now have a wonderful kitchen and if you could secure this fitter I would recommend anyone to go ahead. Hang on to him Kitchens Direct!!

I read a reviews befor i had my kitchen fitted but still went ahead after all the bad reviews i read. The person that comes out to try sell you thekitchen is so full of it saying its all top noch stuff , work surface dont scratch etc, a week after ours was on it was covered in scratches , out splash back is coverd in scratches , out cooker top and oven has lost the black markins for tempriture etc , when ever you call them you get no reply , they are awful and i strongly recomend not to use kitchen direct.

What is the warranty period on a kitchen fitted by kitchens direct? We had a kitchen fitted in 2007 and almost every door has suffered swelling along the sealed edge.
