“Too expensive and run down”

★★☆☆☆

written by Caravan1976 on 27/10/2014

We have just visited the park. It cost over £60 for the family to get in. The rides were out dated. The park needs investment, most of the park is outside so if it's raining stay away. I was looking forward to going as I haven't been since I was a kid. But nothing has changed. The staff don't seem happy to be working there. The drop slides have been closed for health and safety reasons. The go carts and bumper cars are at a extra cost which add to the silly entrence fee. They do offer a return pass but 5 hours is more than enough time in the park. I did find the airplane and the Victorian bit interesting. The way I would grade a good day out is, would I go again? No way. I was listening to other family as we were leaving and they saying the same as me. I have living in Cornwall all of my life a feel that we have lots to offer people on there holidays but Flambards is not the place to go. Maybe they should offer a special rate to get people though the gates so they can invest money back into the park in 2015.

Once we paid to get in it was all free. We could go back as many times as we wanted within 5 days.

“Poor”

I have just taken my daugter to flambard's I left Feeling as if I had been mugged . Having paid far to much to get in (adults £21.00 )i was astonished to then keep paying for the smaller rides . The food was also not up to much as I refuse to feed my four year old burgers and chips ( no heathly options avalable) The larger rides look to be ex-fairground so do yourself a favour and find a mobile fair and save yourself a fortune.

i went there when i was 6 years old and it was rubbish then and the sane rides but more expensive. you have to pay to get on the good rides extra money on top of £25.60, then the food is £7.00 for a burger and taste disgusting for a family i would not recommend at all i would recommend crealy or dailyland

“run down and unfriendly”

written by on 16/08/2011

I went with my partner and my two children aged 3 and 5. Where to start....... getting in, extremely expensive. When i took my children to the child ride areas i actually had to open the gates for my kids to get in and out the rides cos the young, dont really want to be there ride operator was to busy talking about how much she wanted to go home. That maybe so but not in front the customers!!!!!!! The childs cannonball ride actually fell apart whilst my kids were on it, a metal sheet came off and got crushed by the ride goin round. Food was rubbish and expensive but i dont really expect it to be cheap.I could go on and on and on but i'd rather not its not worth my time. Desperately needs a re-think and update. SORRY!!!!!

I agree about the price; it IS expensive. I do not go on the rides but I had heard that the 'Victorian Vllage' and 'The Blitz' were worth a go. They were really interesting but I begrudged paying the full price for what amounted to an hour long visit. It may be an idea to charge seperately for those two attractions for people like us who do not use the other elements of the theme park.

went to flambards for a day out while on holiday in cornwall, 3 adults went it cost £19.50 each which i felt was very exspencive for what the park has to offer. The victorian village and britain in the blitz were great however the rest of the park is very poor, most of the attractions were closed and the ones that were open dident work which i feel is unaceptable considering they were still charging full price the park needs bringing up to date because i viseted the park about 10 years ago and not much has changed at all i wouldent recomend to anyone thinking of visiting as it is a waste of money sad but true unfortunatly.

We were shocked at the price we paid to get in at 45 pounds for 2 adults and one child, and after entering we were immediately disappointed with the size of the park, for that price we expected we would be there all day but infact we left after about an hour. There was hardly any where open for food and the rides were not manned. We enjoyed the exhibitions but not exactly fun for a 3 year old!

Cornwall Tourist Authority should definately check out Flambards massively overrated advertising! 'Best day of the week' yeah right.

Well what can I say...... What a complete load of rubbish. It was billed as "Cornwall's leading attraction." If this is true the whole county may as well hang a 'gone for lunch' sign on the door. I was not expecting this to be chessington or alton towers but at £45 for 2 adults and 1 child to enter the park I was expecting much more. The Victorian and WW2 attractions are good but the rest is tired outdated and not worth the money. Many or the rides are inferior to those you get at one of the travelling funfairs and at least at those you can pay a couple of pounds for each ride you go on rather than this amount of money for a load that you don't want to. Stay well clear.

written by tania1 on 09/04/2010

Flambards - OMG - It now costs £19.50 to get into flambards which has increased consiberly since last year. There is only 1 new ride which does not warrant the extra money although village etc still good but when you have already seen it you dont need to again. Not all the rides were manned and the parked closed its rides at 4.30!! The kids still had a good time but that was due to the company and not the park itself. If you have been to crealy and woodlands you will feel extremly let down with having to pay so much money for a family day out - it was a good job we had a voucher else we would have turned around and went somewhere else. My advice if you cant get a voucher from the local papers- west briton, cornish guardian or a discount from online dont go because you will feel ripped off.

Flambards Village Theme Park has seriously gone downhill in everyway.Peak season and not enough staff to man the rides several were shut. Very expensive too.Don't go expecting it to be Alton Towers or Legoland. Victorian village good but hasn't benefited

changed . Won't be returnng, which is a shame as in its day was a fab family day out. Not sure what's gone wrong.

written by Hanalia on 22/04/2009

We paid about 40 pounds for myself, my husband and our 4 year old to get into Flambards Village Themem Park, and that was with a discount voucher! After about 5 minutes it was apparent that you had to pay for most of the attractions once there. The park is shabby, tired and outdated. We took our son into a soft play area but they had the music up so loud on the speakers it was hard to hear it above the buzzing coming from them.

Suffice to say we went back the to park entrance after about 12 minutes and told them our son had come over ill and we would be needing a refund. Luckily they honoured our request and gave us our money back.

Disneyland it 'aint - don't waste your money!

The rides are very dated, the staff do not seem happy possibly having a manager that is miserable himself, they are not very helpful and there is no supervision in the soft play areas, they seem to get extremely busy and are ill equipped to deal with this as we found out and you do not see anyone cleaning the rubbish up.

The World War 2 exhibition was quite good but you still have to pay for half the rides. Overall, rides were rubbish and the park is too small.

written by Berrow boy on 25/06/2008

My family visited Flambard's on a family ticket for if I recall correctly £45 2 adults 2 children. Within half an hour it was clear to us that the site was poor and had nothing to offer us. So we left. On the way out I thought I would ask for a refund because the time we purchased the ticket was on the ticket and you could see we had not been here long. I thought it was worth a try, but not only is the park poor, the staff were very unsympathetic and just didn't care that some of the rides were faulty and therefore closed. Never mind.

Hi London,
<br/>How come you never went on any of the rides? You were right by saying that it is nothing like the Paris Disneyland resort. I haven't been to Flambards for over 25 years, and that was with my primary school. There were only coin operated kiddie rides, a miniature steam railway and a bouncy tent. None of the big rides existed then, but by looking at the Flambards brochures and website, it looks like there are only very few rides for older kids and grown ups, which to me resembles Pleasurewood Hills in Suffolk.

Berrow Boy's Response to london's Review

Just come back from a stay in Cornwall. I love the county its fantastic I own a caravan there, Newquay to be exact. I agree with London this is a very very poor park and although i have total respect for the cornish people. To pipe on that this is anything but a tacky, poorly managed park is incorrect. They have just got in a dilapidated old Iraqi anti aircraft gun in as an exhibit. I mean Come on what bright spark though of that????

Where did you hear that Flambards village theme park resembled the Disney resort in Paris? That really surprised me, but it was certainly wrong and misleading whoever told you that.
