    Good Points: Sea view rooms

    Bad Points: Rooms might be a bit tired looking
    Pool not very clean


    General comments: We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Torquay a few years ago, and we were not impressed, due to the amount of work going ahead and unfriendly staff.

    However, we had a much better stay, and the public areas are lovely. Although our room was huge with a private balcony overlooking the sea, it was very dated and needed updating. The view and the sunshine made us overlook this, as it was very clean.

    Breakfast was delightful. We did not want to eat in the hotel as we wanted to explore other restaurants, but we wanted a snack late at night, and we could not get through to the restaurant or reception, so we gave up.

    We feel that over £100.00 per night is over- priced until they complete refurbishment, which will be in many years at the rate they were going.
