The Smith & Wesson 329PD Airlite pd 44 Magnum is an outstanding pistol, had it mag na ported, and an action job. I load with 300/310gr hard cast over 7.5grs of titegroup, right at 900fps. you can shoot all day at the range with no ill effects. If you start to go much above 1000fps you do run the risk of cylinder lock up. A 300gr hard cast at 900fps will solve any of your adventure encounters.

I think the Smith & Wesson 329PD Airlite pd 44 Magnum is a great addition for anyone wanting to add to their collection. Just remember what the man said " If you are weak sause this is not the pistol for you". Very comfortable with the rubber grips provided. I think this is the ultimate in self defense and also is light enough to carry while backpacking and hunting. Have heard there might be some problems related to the safety lock and the recoil. I have not had any problem so far.- Read Guest's review (89 words)

The gun is over rated and over priced. After firing only 100 rounds of 44 special and about 50 rouns of 44 mag the gun began to fall apart. The cylinder relaese was falling off and the rear sit came loose. Other screw holding the gun together were also loose.
Lite weight, great pack gun.- Read Richard in Alaska's review (51 words)

The gun is way over rated and over priced. The gun is lite weight and great for packing.
The gun doesn't hold well at all to target shooting. After firing only 100 rounds of 44 specials and maybe 50 rounds of 44 mag the rear site came loose and some of the screw started backing out. The cylinder release was so loose that it almost fell off. I'm not sure if I will take this gun back out for target shooting. In fact I may be uptting it up for sale.- Read Richard in Alaska's review (87 words)

I have carried this revolver in the field, all day, up and down the mountains and hills. Come the end of the day I forget I still have it on my belt and must take it off before going to dinner. I carry my 340PD to dinner and don't even feel it is on me. Fast and easy to draw, excellent hand fit. balance to point, and ease of DA make this one a keeper. My six bullets weigh almost as much as the piece. When you pull the trigger it goes BOOM!- Read jimjohn620's review (93 words)

Overall good handgun for carry, firepower and accuracy. Of course weight, however shooting about 44 rounds of .44 Special ammo today, it seemed very accurate and with the rubber grips, recoil was not a problem. Good gun. I had some staining from firing the ammo on the outside of the cylinder that hoppes #9, nor break free removed.- Read Guest's review (55 words)

Lite carry, very comforting to have with. I bought it just to carry with 44 spec. I've used it with mags, it has recoil but it's not the end of the world. Always liked 44 specs for defense.- Read Guest's review (36 words)

I bought this gun the day after I drew an elk tag to hunt Alaska's Afognak Island (just next to Kodiak). It was my only back-up on a ten day solo hunt, and it proved to be immensely comforting. I carry it in a chest pack holster, modified with a thumb break hammer strap. It's nearly unnoticeable to carry, yet springs to hand instantly, and delivers an awesome amount of firepower. (I did not have occasion to use it for defense.) The airlight is, in my opinion, the very best choice for a wild ...- Read Thomases's review (184 words)

I think this gun is very practical for the backpacker, the bow hunter or anyone a good, strong, light packing gun while in the wilderness. Good Alaskan, Montanan, and Canadian gun.- Read Guest's review (92 words)

I bought it to carry with me when I bird and squirrel hunt by myself and with my kids. I want something bigger than my shotgun for whatever protection we all might need...bears, big cats or worse. I don't expect to ever have to use it. I can hit what I aim at at 25 feet, and if I ever need it, what I hit will be hurt badly...... the volume alone will scare most things away. Since I don't plan on using it...I don't want to pack a load. It is perfect for this scenerio.- Read Russellhoo's review (141 words)

I think its a great gun I got my Smith & Wesson 329PD Airlite pd 44 Magnum for a steal got it brand new and only paid $495.
After 30 shots I'm done with it. It is not a gun to just go out and plink with.
Buy the grips for it and a good pair of shooting gloves it's not that bad.
Recommend if you need a light cannon for in the woods.
It is lighter than my Sig P239
A great gun- Read tazman1970's review (158 words)
