    I too ordered top gear for a xmas gift. I paid in Dec 2008 and still waiting to receive. I initially had to emails by May 09 saying publsher delay. However I have left several voice mails and sent emails requesting refund all of which have been ignored. Other than to turn up at the store which will cost petrol I don't know what else to do. This webste is forcing me to give a star rating of 1/5 when they deserve 0/5

    I have just come onto these reviews as I was curious about this company following an incident a few years ago when 'COUNTRY BOOKSHOP' STOLE money from me!!
    It was around 5 years ago and I argued with them for months and months. I made a payment to them of £26.00 for a book, which they told me was no longer available.     Again another subscription nightmare. Online it says 'The order is being processed' but it has been months and I have heard nothing back from them to date. BEWARE. If I could give it 0/5 stars I would but it seems I have to put at least one, country bookstore doesn't deserve even one star though.

    Rubbish, still waiting on a gift subscription. do not use Country Bookshop to purchase anything, if you want to receive it.

    Oh why oh why didn't I research Country Bookshop before using them?? I could kick myself. I too ordered an annual subscription of Gardners World magazine from Country Bookshop, it was for a Christmas present. I ordered online on 4th December '08, money was taken from my bank account the next day and still no magazines.     Ordered magazine subscription as a present for someone else in Feb 2009, its now August 2009, no magazines have arrived, the last email I had in May said Country Bookshop made a mistake processing my subscription, now they dont answer my emails and won't return my calls!

    I have never managed to speak to a person there yet, only ever get answer machine, this is very suspicious!

    I too, ordered a Gardener's World magazine subscription in for Mother's Day in March, although ordered before that date. Country Bookshop took the money straight away and have not heard anything since. Their link to from the email to see what is happening with your order goes straight to and error message- for 4 months! I sent emails but have had no response. They say they will deliver before 12 weeks. Rubbish.

    Like everyone else I ordered a subscription of TopGear magazine for my nephew in December and here we are in the last week of May - over 5 months later with no sign of a single magazine yet. I have emailed Country Bookshop 7 times now and have managed to get just 2 responses saying there had been "an error" with the publishers and that they would contact me once they had a date for the delivery of the first magazine. That was about 6 weeks ago and we are STILL waiting.

    Ordered via the website in January, money taken from my account February. Now May and no magazine which was actually for a birthday present in February! No reply to phone calls or emails. I finally drove to the address today and demanded my money back. It was Sunday so the office was actually shut but a nice lady gave me the money out of the till saying they have had a lot of complaints. Don't confuse the lovely bookshop with the online business

    I ordered a magazine subscription from Country Bookshop as a Christmas present in November, Country Bookshop took the money early in december and I still havent had either my subscription or a reply to my emails and communications via their website 4 months later

    I ordered a magazine subscription 3 months ago now from Country Bookshop. The amount was debited from my account immediately, yet i have received absolutely nothing! There is no way of contacting them, and they haven't responded to any of my e-mails. So i have no way of finding out if i ever will receive my magazine.

    I wish I had seen this site before I ordered a Gardners World Subscription from Country Bookshop. I cannot get an answer and it's been nearly six months. I will write to Trading standards as I think other people need to be aware of this company.

    I ordered Gardeners World mag subscription from Country Bookshop in early Nov 08, money was taken immediately, still no sign of magazines (which were a Christmas present). Surfed the web, got a phone number which went to answerphone and told me to email them. Heard nothing. Now onto my bank as I paid by credit card. I will not deal with this company again.

    I too ordered a Gardener's world subscription in August but still no sign of it and the money left my account straight away. Have sent numerous emails but no response and no phone number to call. Does anyone have a number I could call about this? Thanks.

    Ordered a book on the basis that website showed it as in stock with a 24 hour dispatch time. After a week was informed that it was not in stock at their distributor and that they had no idea when it would next be available. Re checked website and title still shows as in stock with 24 hour dispatch. Cancelled order and will not be using again.

    Nobody answered the 'customer support' or 'account support' helplines, the company hasn't responded to e-mails. Money taken out of the account very quickly, first magazine delivery came after 6 months! Not recommended.

    I only came on this web site due to my bad experience. I intend to report these people to Trading Standards and am reclaiming my money from my credit card company. I suggest similar complaints are lodged with Trading Standards Officers so they can decide whether to prosecute.

    Similar story to the other reviews. I ordered a Gardeners World subscription as a birthday present for my brother in April. Not one issue has been delivered over 6 months later; yet the full 12 months worth of subscription was taken from my account the day after ordering. I got one or two email responses at first explaining it could take up to 6/8 weeks. Now - nothing. Not recommended. I'm reporting to Trading Standards, I'd advise anyone else affected to do the same.
