1 star is too many - time wasters, false information. The amount of times I have spoken to this company about trying to add information or find my address. The system will only include up to 3 addresses in the system and struggles with flats in general. Its been 6 months and they still cannot locate my details on an electoral register even though I have two emails with evidence. It is really a shambles - no company behaving like this should have data within there system of a confidential nature let alone giving it out to outside parties.

Utterly useless. They have worngly processed and listed someone else’s county court judgement on my credit report, and have wrongly distorted up my credit reputation with lenders. Despite many calls costing me over £200 and many tens of emails, all of my communications are being ignored. They simply cannot be bothered to amend there error. Being passed on from one person to another, from one department to another, from one county to another, no one taking any responsibility, and no one knows what the other is doing witching their company. Need to close this trebile company which is causing huge amount of harm and stress. Shame on you Equifax

After seeing the adverts to check your credit score through Clearscore, I opened an account with them where they take all their information from Equifax. The information Equifax give to Clearscore to issue a score is so outdated and incorrect. They are a dangerous company when it affects your personal finances. Trying to contact them is very difficult with E-mails taking weeks to be answered and then with generic answers. If you ring them with calls being transferred overseas, it is so difficult to actually understand the personnel as English is not their first language. They then try to pass the buck and say it is the responsibility of Clearscore who should be contacted. E-mails have been exchanged but the Equifax staff seem incapable of understanding simple statements. They have the audacity to make false statements regarding my bank account and then advise I should contact my bank to correct the situation when it is simply Equifax who have no clue as to what they are doing. Whilst contacting Equifax by E-mail, they then advise that they need to see a copy of my credit report to investigate my concerns. This is the very same credit report that Equifax produce. I really question the knowledge of the staffing of this outfit as they simply cannot understand common sense. This company requires investigating by the authorities, and details have been sent to the Financial Ombudsman. BEWARE.There are other similar companies to use instead

Awful customer service, was charged £14.95 for not cancelling the 30 day free trial by 1 DAY and they refused to refund or even consider reducing the charge, however they were more than happy to discuss a half price monthly charge reduction if I stayed with them!!!!! Absolute joke. However when I also forgot to cancel my Amazon prime free trial by a WEEK, I got a full refund. I think Equifax should consider taking some tips from other services

I used eqififax to obtain credit report for a mortgage application. I cancelled the subscription for myself and my husband in December and they have been taking payments until February! I have tried to dispute but am continually put on hold on their phone line. Their "customer service" agents are border line rude and completely unhelpful. Additionally they suspended my on line log in so I could not manage my account via the website either. What a great way to just continue helping themselves to money in my account!! Please please avoid using this company

If you are thinking of checking your credit rating just don't bother even considering this shoddy outfit. Use Noddle which is completely free and they will not fleece you from your hard earned cash like Equifax do.

I applied for £2 statutory online report which their website promises that you can see instantly, but after entering the personal details and other absurd questions on further checks on identity and payment details, it denied giving it instantly and received an message to contact them to activate the acocunt and for further documents like my passport and utioity bills. its just a rip off

They have my age wrong and refuse to ammend it despite receiving relevant documents

I signed up with them on 07/07/13 for a 30 day free trial. I cancelled it on 03/08/13 before the end of the trial period and received 2 email confirmations of cancellation. I thought that was the end of it. 1 year later! my credit card statement for August 2014 arrives and guess what......EQUIFAX have taken £2.99 on 04/08/14 and according to my Credit card company they have also taken same for Sept 2014. When I contacted Equifax for a refund, they advised to get a refund I have to sign up AGAIN with a different email address! What.......So they can charge me again - I don't think so. Why have they got my credit card details on file a year after I cancelled. EM

This is the second time I have applied to have my report online and it has come back failed. I have answered the online security questions which I am 100% sure of the answers but it has still said I have failed and need to contact them on an 0844 number. I found the form easy to complete. Is this just another way of Equifax making money

This is the worst service. Not they had the wrong information and outdated address. But they even withdrew money from my bank account after cancelling the trial. I had to call my local council to check if i was registered or not to which they told that equifax dont update the voter data regularly in their system. Suprisingly other credit check agencies had the updated data.

I would say a 1 star review is too high for this joke of a company. I found out about equifax when denied a mobile phone contract. Now let me tell you my experian credit score is 999 having never missed a mortgage payment or ever been late in paying any of the numerous loans I have held since the age of 18. 14 years of having good fully repaid credit without defaults. BUT because equifax didnt recognise my address or that I even lived at my current address they automatically score me as bad. After several weeks of having to spoon feed these idiots of every part of my credit history at my own expense and not to mention the stupid foreign idiots they employ in their call centre I gave up. You just cant win with this shambles of a company. All I can hope is uk companies open their eyes and see equifax for the lump of excrement they really are and that equifax as a company gets flushed down the toilet!

Only fools pay the monthly fee, scores are WORTH nothing! Take it from someone who previously worked for Experian! All creditors that carry out searches, check for late payments, defaults,CCjs,and bankruptcies! Companies do NOT see your score! Some companies will decline you with your score of 999, if you clear your cards of every month and earn them no money! I know of somebody who never had any credit had a 999 score from Experian and was declined credit, just ignore the scores

i APPLIED FOR A £2 CREDIT REPORT AND WAS UNABLE TO DO IT ONLINE AS I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD AN ACCOUNT WHICH I HAD CANCELLED YEARS BEFORE. I RANG AND SPOKE TO A NON ENGLISH PERSON WHO ASSURED ME IT WAS A £2 REPORT AND I HAD NOT BEEN RE-SIGNED UP FOR A MONTHLY ACCOUNT. I NOW FIND THEY HAVE TAKEN £15 FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY AUTHORITY AND ARE REFUSING TO GIVE IT ME BACK. WHAT ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE WANT TO PAY £15 PER MONTH FOR RUBBISH INFORMATION THAT IS NOT EVEN UP TO DATE. I WILL BE REPORTING IT AS A FRAUDULENT TRANSACTION TO MY BANK AND ALSO TO THE OMBUDSMAN. DISGUSTING

I applied for my free credit report on equifax as I was looking at applying for a mortgage. My partner had Already signed up and said it was easy. My account failed to process and I received emails demanding that I called them if I wanted my report. I called the number and was immediately put through to a non-uk call centre where I was asked for all the same information again before the man at the other end told me that they could not let me have my report unless I proofed who I was by sending them a copy of my passport and driving license. I told him I was not willing to do this for a free credit report and he said I could not have the information without them. I asked why the website could not have told me the need for this without me having to phone them and it was very clear that he did not understand me. Now I'm just angry and frustrated. Nothing is ever really free.

Can't beleive this company has the power to say yes or no to a mortgage! And they will say no, It's in their interests to say no, thats how they make money. Ruining peoples lifes, just like the other company, Excreation. Need to be investigated for ruining peoples lifes.

This in my opinion is a company that's very foundations are built around slick scamming. The offer of a free 7 day trial is a ruse to get your credit card details simply because at the end of the 7 day trial you can't unsubscribe...they make it nigh on impossible. Importantly the 7 day sneak preview of your credit rating is utter balderdash and if you attempt to get full detail/access...you get a squirmingly insincere apology about computer glitches...the only skill this company has is in ripping innocent people off...on this occasion I'm the wrong victim and intend taking matters a lot further....

Basically, they take your money without your consent, even after you've cancelled your subscription. Unbelievable they have not been shot down.

The other problem with Equifax is that if you report them to the Financial Ombudsman, the service you receive from them is pretty similar to the service from Equifax, i.e. POOR
