I applied for £2 statutory online report which their website promises that you can see instantly, but after entering the personal details and other absurd questions on further checks on identity and payment details, it denied giving it instantly and received an message to contact them to activate the acocunt and for further documents like my passport and utioity bills. its just a rip off… Read Full Review

“Equifax - Don't sign up and don't trust them”

Written on: 14/09/2014 by gsDalrymple432 (1 review written)

I signed up with them on 07/07/13 for a 30 day free trial. I cancelled it on 03/08/13 before the end of the trial period and received 2 email confirmations of cancellation. I thought that was the end of it. 1 year later! my credit card statement for August 2014 arrives and guess what......EQUIFAX have taken £2.99 on 04/08/14 and according to my Credit card company they have also taken same for Sept 2014. When I contacted Equifax for a refund, they advised to get a refund I have to sign up… Read Full Review

“failed online report”

Written on: 11/06/2014 by qbHood1968 (1 review written)

This is the second time I have applied to have my report online and it has come back failed. I have answered the online security questions which I am 100% sure of the answers but it has still said I have failed and need to contact them on an 0844 number. I found the form easy to complete. Is this just another way of Equifax making money… Read Full Review

“Outdated credit report and took money even after...”

Written on: 24/04/2014 by LeonardoGilliam324 (1 review written)

This is the worst service. Not they had the wrong information and outdated address. But they even withdrew money from my bank account after cancelling the trial. I had to call my local council to check if i was registered or not to which they told that equifax dont update the voter data regularly in their system. Suprisingly other credit check agencies had the updated data… Read Full Review

“Inaccurate unhelpful detritus”

Written on: 24/03/2014 by 24Law (1 review written)

I would say a 1 star review is too high for this joke of a company. I found out about equifax when denied a mobile phone contract. Now let me tell you my experian credit score is 999 having never missed a mortgage payment or ever been late in paying any of the numerous loans I have held since the age of 18. 14 years of having good fully repaid credit without defaults. BUT because equifax didnt recognise my address or that I even lived at my current address they automatically score me as… Read Full Review

Only fools pay the monthly fee, scores are WORTH nothing! Take it from someone who previously worked for Experian! All creditors that carry out searches, check for late payments, defaults,CCjs,and bankruptcies! Companies do NOT see your score! Some companies will decline you with your score of 999, if you clear your cards of every month and earn them no money! I know of somebody who never had any credit had a 999 score from Experian and was declined credit, just ignore the scores

Written on: 02/02/2014

i APPLIED FOR A £2 CREDIT REPORT AND WAS UNABLE TO DO IT ONLINE AS I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD AN ACCOUNT WHICH I HAD CANCELLED YEARS BEFORE. I RANG AND SPOKE TO A NON ENGLISH PERSON WHO ASSURED ME IT WAS A £2 REPORT AND I HAD NOT BEEN RE-SIGNED UP FOR A MONTHLY ACCOUNT. I NOW FIND THEY HAVE TAKEN £15 FROM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY AUTHORITY AND ARE REFUSING TO GIVE IT ME BACK. WHAT ON EARTH WOULD ANYONE WANT TO PAY £15 PER MONTH FOR RUBBISH INFORMATION THAT IS NOT EVEN UP TO DATE. I WILL BE REPORTING… Read Full Review

“horrendous”

Written on: 21/01/2014

I applied for my free credit report on equifax as I was looking at applying for a mortgage. My partner had Already signed up and said it was easy. My account failed to process and I received emails demanding that I called them if I wanted my report. I called the number and was immediately put through to a non-uk call centre where I was asked for all the same information again before the man at the other end told me that they could not let me have my report unless I proofed who I was by sending… Read Full Review

“Disturbingly slick, providors of false information”

Written on: 27/11/2013 by fudge1948 (1 review written)

This in my opinion is a company that's very foundations are built around slick scamming. The offer of a free 7 day trial is a ruse to get your credit card details simply because at the end of the 7 day trial you can't unsubscribe...they make it nigh on impossible. Importantly the 7 day sneak preview of your credit rating is utter balderdash and if you attempt to get full detail/access...you get a squirmingly insincere apology about computer glitches...the only skill this company has is in… Read Full Review

“Very hard work!!”

Written on: 17/09/2013

Very disappointed with this service. Signed up to review my credit history and to help me improve my credit rating after receiving a ccj in 2008. This had been settled in full within 3 months of issue and both prior and since its issue, all my bills are paid regularly by direct debit. My summary report shows an excellent history in all categories apart from the paid ccj, which is highlighted as very poor inspite of it having been settled 5 years ago. This appears to be the only blot on an… Read Full Review

“rip off ”

Written on: 11/09/2013

I joined Equifax two years ago, found they had been taking £14.00 a month from my account, sometimes three payments were being taken. I found that I had joined my husband up as well, thought viewing credit file was only £2.00 each. Once they get your credit card details you cannot cancel payments. I have been paying for nothing, in some cases £20.00 a month. Another way to take money from hard working people, time this was stopped credit reports should be free, and quite honestly done away… Read Full Review

“Credit Report Rip Off”

Written on: 21/08/2013

Wanted to see credit report so had to subscribe to free trial. After viewing report immediately phoned and cancelled subscription. Advisor spoke poor English and getting the advisor to understand me was difficult. After trying to persuade me to keep subscription for a lenghty amount of time, eventually said she'd cancel it and asked me to affirm by email. Imagine my surprise some months later when I receive an email saying 'no changes to credit report' and when I checked, the direct debit had… Read Full Review

“Totally inept”

Written on: 03/08/2013 by lysistrata (1 review written)

I ordered my £2 credit report by post. After about a week I was sent a form asking me to supply two document confirming my identity. These were posted back to them, but I heard nothing for about 3 weeks. Rang up their rip off premium rate phone line and was told that they couldn't accept one of the documents I sent. I was told to upload a different document to their website (after registering a 'Support account' with them). About a week later I tried logging in to this 'Support account'… Read Full Review

Spp-Susse's Response to lysistrata's Review

Written on: 15/08/2013

I completely agree. I spent 30 minutes paying for a call in which they said they wanted my entire credit history for the past 6 years!! They are in the Philippines and read from a script, which means that they are difficult to understand at times and totally ignorant of the way in which we love with credit cards in the UK.

I finally got her to agree to let me have my credit report if I could tell her al my credit cards and the limits in them. I had already logged in and already verified who I was on-line and on the phone but they want to keep you on the phone.

She also wanted to know why I wanted a report, which is none of their business, but also then ignored the answer and read again from a script in fast, Americansied accent with nonsense abot 'my worries' when all I said was I wanted to check that Santander had done what they had promised and removed a flag which was their error.

I wish I had NEVER bothered with them.
