Credit Report Free Offer (my true rating on the star scale would be zero if that were an option...)
I am amazed that a company such as yourselves can continue to operate by the passive acceptance of your membership without a formal agreement.
It would seem that I accepted a 'free offer', presumably in September this year, of a credit report and must have given my bank details at the time. I certainly was not aware that I was signing up for a regular bank payment of £6.99 per month without further confirmation and agreement from myself - there is no way I would require a regular report on my credit rating!
On realising from my most recent bank statement that this charge has been made by direct debit for the months of October and November, I returned to your site to try to cancel. There is no obvious facility for doing this. I telephoned you and took the cancellation option on the automated phone line and have now cancelled the payments.
However I have inadvertently paid you £13.98 which I did not intend to do and feel that you have achieved this by a passive rather than an active decision on my part. Neither have I received any benefit that I am aware of in return for these payments. I am surprised and disappointed that such a service is provided by a company that is theoretically acting in the interests of helping its customers to avoid such devious methods of trading.

Please note the star rating given is only 1 because you can't mark any lower score

I have also been duped by Experian (CreditExpert.co.uk). I completed the online application and had to wait over a week for my activation PIN, without this you can't access your score/details. I phoned to cancel my subscription 30 days after I'd activated my account but then discovered they had taken £6.99 from my account !
I have called them but they say the 30 FREE trial period starts from the day you fi ...

Experian Creidt Report are a rip-off merchants. Overpriced. Credit report is ok but credit score is a con. Never had credit before and my score came back 999 or excellant, not even room for improvement as can only be out of 999. Yet when asked to suggest a credit card - they suggested the 5 most expensive easy to apply for. Despite 3 e-mails have not resolved my complaint and keep going on about things i've not mentioned. Have informed them last chance to resolve before inform FSA.

I have just cancelled my account with this company as you seem to pay some amount of money despite their claims that they offer consumers a free trial/service. If you do get caught, which you invariably tend to do, they seem to have numerous tactics to prolong your contact with them, which increases the amount of money you pay them. The final insult for me was after being advised to confirm some information to provide a truer picture of my credit status, I found myself on a page which prompted ...

Paid for an Experian Credit Report only to find it 4 months out of date. Waste of time and money.

Just a quick warning about getting your free credit rating check by using the 30 day trial credit checks offered on Creditexpert.co.uk.
Even if you cancel your subscription with them in writing they will continue to take £6.99 from your bank account until you actually cancel by phone even though they have acknowledged your cancellation by email. Something in the small print apparently.
It is safer and cheaper to get your credit file directly from the credit reference agency (Usually &p ...

Experian will find a way to charge you! They state that you get a 30 day free trial; this is only after giving over all of your sensitive information! Also, unless you ring them immediately after your trial, you will end up paying!

Signed up with Experian to check my credit rating by taking the 30day free trial.Could not access any credit score or reports so phoned the helpline. They said there was a fault that could be rectified by them making the account void, then i could just sign up again.
Result was no score, no report and the free trial cost me £6.99.

I won't bore I with the whole story just the main things to look at:-
    1. Regardless of whether you're on the free 30 day trial, or I forgot to cancel and they debit my bank account, I CANNOT find how to read their terms and conditions UNLESS I first disclose ALL my own personal information. If I pull out just prior to card details stage they claim I have agreed to their "terms of business" (not to be confused with their "privacy policy"). Even if I unsubscribe from their never ending spam emails ...

My Experian credit check was full of and inaccuracies and it doesn't help when the economy is on the rocks. Most of the credit report agencys are worthless and trouble makers it's actually made it worser. Just be careful what you do with you're own details.

I recently applied for a UK credit card. The bank refused my application but suggested that if I sent them bank statements/proof of earnings they would re-consider my application. I was informed that the bank used Experian to check my credit status, and they suggested that I should contact them and check the data that they hold on me.
I supplied Experian with the relevant funds and requested a check. Experian contacted me and asked me for a great deal of information including my addresses for th ...

Why would Experian score me at 644, giving 2 stars and categorising me as high risk, but Equifax and Callcredit score me at 920, giving 5 stars and categorising me as excellent? Only Equifax contained ALL the correct information. Why is Experian called a public report, and why do landlords and employers choose to use it, instead of Equifax or Callcredit? It seems ridiculous that the three reports can give such different outcomes. I have access to all three and the only differences seem to be tha ...

Having seen the TV advert for this I thought I would take up the offer out of curiosity. I imagine many people have done this. However having looked just the once, I wasn't interested in signing up as a customer as there was no need. What I didn't know was that YOU had to cancel so as not to automatically join. There was no need to read on as I didn't intend to join, but somewhere in the small print is the information telling you to. Funny how that isn't highlighted in bold or large print. Appar ...

I get the impression that the service Experian offered is feeding off identity theft paranoia, but the service provided is not as complete as their marketing would imply. The missing information from the report makes one wonder how reliable the reports are.

My experience only covers the statutory £2 report. I received a prompt response to my internet enquiry. There was prompt response to my corrections and the overall impression I received was of a friendly and efficient outfit. A more responsive organisation than competitors.

I was sent an e-mail from credit expert offering me a 30-day free subscription for an online report. I never received the report or any confirmation it was on its way. I e-mailed them a week or so later to cancel the service. I didn't receive any confirmation but assumed it had been cancelled and that my credit card would not be charged.

I have now found that my credit card was charged despite never getting anything from Experian. I have sent them e-mails which just clarify that the account ...
