After many years of delaying this purchase due to the hefty price we finally took the plunge. Within 10 days of purchase the plastic spindle started to chaff which results in the blade spinning in an oblong manner. Heard that people used Magimix machines for decades so pretty surprised. We had not done heavy loads, just slicing and chopping, mainly onions and tomatoes. (read more)

Although powerful and quiet it does not chop all the vegetable leaving big chunks that fall into the main mixture. The handle is impossible to keep clean and stains over time looking dirty from rusty spring. Spare parts expensive like new blade £30 needed after stripped by bread dough. Previous food processor I had lasted 20 years this has lasted 4 years expensive too. (read more)

This is a first class piece of equipment, built to a high standard and with a good manufacturers guarantee. It does the jobs you would expect with ease. (read more)

I have had this item for just over 3 years and have just run out of the guarantee period. Initially, I found it was difficult to use but I did get used to it. Problems have been: -Small inner bowls spill over when in use...very messy. -Large bowl leaks when blending soups. -The egg whisk is rubbish - you can't make a homogenous meringue! However all this could be forgiven if it was a durable product, which you would expect by the expensive price and the brand name. The spindle has... (read more)

I've only had this for 12 months and has hardly ever been used. The spindle is flaking off and the machine is useless as it is unable to spin.
The customer service is terrible. They advise that the machine should not be running more than 30 seconds, not even at intervals. Beats me how they can market this product as a heavyweight. If you want to make dough go with a proper dough maker.

It is a robust machine for chopping and cutting , but it is not a user friendly apparatus for mixing and or dough making. Many of the recipes in the accomanying book are untested and frankly are not worth using, refer to a good cookery book instead. The service standards of Magimix in UK are appalling - 3 months for a cutter disk!. Would I buy again? For cutting and chopping yes for anything else no. (read more)

I'm not keen on this product because there's no variable speed, you just have either on, or off.
My previous processor - a Braun, was brilliant because it had 12 speeds, so if you needed to fold something in gently you could. The Magimix just does everything at full pelt.
Luckily, I didn't buy mine, a friend lent me hers to see if I liked it and I don't.

My experience using the Magimix 4200XL for their own pastry recipe has been a disaster on the two times I've tried. On both occasions the dough blade inside collar has been stripped and it's become jammed on the machine motor shaft. And no we didn't overload the machine, alter the recipe or overrun the timings.......it was all exactly to the Magimix recipe instructions both times.
Magimix email help has been prompt and apologetic, but the fact is the machine fails and damages the machine...

My Magimix 4200 regularly if used for mixing dough- the shearing force on the spindle is too much for it. Even though I follow the instructions to the letter.
It is hard to slice neatly because it whizzes so fast you cannot control the feed direction. You cannot dice. The Julienne sticks are so short and thin they may as well be grated.

So What!? This is the whole point. All food processors are not built like they used to be. My Kenwood food processor is 25 years old & still going but the new ones made with a different Parent Company are rubbish.
