Darlows in Swansea rented out a property that they knew needed work to. The previous tenant moved out due to the amount of work needing to be done and the landlord not doing it. I rented the property and have had exactly the same problems and has caused a number of health problems. Their management agents do not return calls, and their service is disgusting. Would never rent a house with them again!! (read more)

Darlows Estate Agents Tonypandy: I have never seen such a blatant abuse of trust, we really wanted a property that came on the market on the weekend, the agent knew that we would offer the full asking price... we couldn't get an appointment until the end of the week because they were 'busy' but ensured us that the owner wouldn't make a decision until the weekend, they then contacted us in the middle of the week saying that someone made an offer and that the offer was lower than the asking... We made a poor decision to sell our house with Darlows, we used the Pontypridd branch. They kept poor records, so communication was terrible and were incompetent and dishonest,particularly the manager. We would never use this company again, and would warn anyone else against using them. I dread to think how much time I spent on the phone or going into the office trying to get them to actually do there job. (read more)

A tenant of my property moved out, I received a 'checkout report' from darlows/spicerhaart in which stated "The tenants have not left this property in good condition", the tenant had repainted the lounge without permission, not maintained the garden and removed items on leaving. Just to add to the negative reviews regarding Darlows in Merthyr Tydfil. I recently letted a property through them and they were atrocious. They gave me the wrong postcode for my property so my broadband ended up being set up in the neighboring estate. Trying to get my bond back when I moved out was also a complete nightmare, they told me I would have it within 10 days, 15 passed and I rang them, they told me I needed to ring the company that deals with the bond as darlows dont handle it.... Yes i totally agree with whoever wrote the review on 19/3/12. Merthyr Darlows should be shut down. Yes the staff are very very rude and unprofessional. My solicitor is dealing with my case and i will take them all the way. TO COURT. AND I WILL BE CONTACTING THE NEWSPAPER AS WELL. Just to add to the negative reviews on Merthyr Darlows. I recently letted a property through them and they were atrocious. I rang company and they told me that darlows should have informed the landlord he needed to contact the bond company. Total incompetence!

They promise to ring you back. But never do. Communication between the staff is very poor. They always tend to blame each other for errors which they make. (read more)

Where do i start.... Found a house i liked the look of to rent in caerphilly, so rang darlows and was told i had to ring the darlows in cardiff as caerphilly dont deal with caerphilly lettings!?? I am attempting to buy a house. First time buyer with good deposit and mortgage agreed in principle and desperate to complete quickly and move in before the summer.
Surely a perfect buyer, right?
Well apparently not. I can never get through to the sales team on the phone and they never call back. I have tried to arrange several viewings but they are reluctant to let me view anything on the weekend. I work 9-6 in the week.

Staff very reluctant to conduct viewings outside 9 to 5 mon-fri. On 2 occasions I had to show potential buyers around my own home. Feedback from viewings had to be requested, and correspondence from the branch was patchy. One staff member was very helpful and supportive, but others lived up to the cliche of the estate agent character.

Absolutley disgraceful, what they know about selling a property could probably be written on the back of a postage stamp. The so-called Manager of the Branch, Neil Jones, is suprisingly never available. I suppose I wouldn't be either if I ran a tin pot operation like this. Used Tonypandy Darlows to sell my house. They were extremely unprofessional and rude! I had an offer when I initially listed with them that was very low so I didn't accept it. Darlows Lettings Newport are extremely unprofessional. They don't seem to be able to comunicate with one another or with you, so you get a phone call off one assistant asking you the same thing you've already told another. You get different answers from different people, they dont call you when they say they will, they dont follow up any complaints or issues. They overcharge for fees when you end up doing all the work for them. Pretty useless.

Darlows estate agents in newport are a complete waste of time, effort and money. I would not reccommend them to anyone that wants to sell a house. They do not return any calls or maintain contact throughout the sale process. I have had my property up for sale with thm now for 6 months and not had a single viewing. They were sole agents for my property for a period of 16 weks which was a nightmare and even more of a nightmare to get out of the contract at the end (read more)
