Turned up to the place for a viewing 3 bed maisonette 495, not bad price we thought they take pets place needs a bit of love whilst looking around he informs us its 450 we thought sweet! asked how much the admin would be though we both have new jobs we haven't received our first pay checks so moneys a bit tight but not planing to move for a month...have a guess how much they wanted average is 150-250 they wanted 300 we said it was unreasonable he informed us he would see what he could do and... “Total Rip off”

What a waste off time, and a total rip off Fox and Sons are, I dropped my price due to the fact they over priced my house!! Did they drop their commission, which is not a percentage of the selling price! Infact it is a lot higher than the 1.5% most Estate Agents charge, no they did not. They are unprofessional. Commenting on Fox and Son in North End. As a buyer I would advise sellers to give this company a miss. Pay your money to a company who will work in your interests. I was very keen on a property. I have phoned and tried to make a viewing serveral times. I left contact details so that they can contact my mother but no phone call. It is now a week on. The house is still up for sale. If you want a professional service that, lets face your'e paying for. I would give Fox & son a wide birth. We sold our house at the beginning of December to a first time buyer. Found a house to buy soon after that was vacant with no chain. We were told 6-8 weeks as there's no chain. Since December, I've had one phone call and one e-mail. “Terrible Service”

Absolute bullies!!! They sold my property in Brighton and Paul from the Preston Park office, lied, argued and bullied me to do what he wanted. Pretty sure he just wanted his commission for Christmas as the buye 'shouting' at hime on the phone hasn't even moved in, 2 weeks later. Complete liars, cheats and very pushy. Would never use them again. Make out they're doing you a favour, when you're giving them LOTS of money!!!!! Felt harrassed and am thinking about making a formal complaint!!!! (read more)

I have spoken to [name removed] regarding a mortgage.
We felt bullied and blackmailed into buying a mortgage though them if we wanted to secure the sale of the house. They lied and said it was the owner who stipulated that the buyer has to arrange mortgage through fox and sons . Buyer said no such thing. If we didn't arrange mortgage through them then they would sell to other buyers
Now, 4 weeks later other buyer has apparently increased their offer( not sure i believe them)
Asked if he can put in writing about mortgage and what the owner said , was told no can't do that
Read somewhere they do this all the time. Nothing seems to done about it.
Called property ombudsman , was told to put in writing to their complaints dept. I don't see the point as they are all probably greedy liars who are good at twisting words and bulling people.
They should not allowed to do this and nobody is stopping them.

That's terrible. Was it [name removed] also? They are incredibly good at twisting words and blackmailing. Bullies!!! Have warned everyone against using them!!!

Me and my partner were looking to rent a property it took 3 days to actually get through to someone as no one answered the phone so finally we arranged a viewing in the evening I turned up and waited an hour!!, in the cold a young women on my 20's, and they didn't turn up we had no call no contact nothing the following day my partner got through, no apology, came up with lots of excuses, stupid ones!!, so then arranged another viewing as we were quite keen on the place, so we get a voicemail... I wanted to view a property through a Brighton branch, but they were more interested in selling me a mortgage than a house. Every single phone call or viewing I have with them I get pushed to see their financial adviser. Don't get bullied by them. (read more)

Many years ago, we used this lot initially, to market our character cottage for us in Mid Sussex. The agent called on us with another young man whom he appeared to be very friendly with. He valued the property at £65000 (it was the late eighties!)We felt it was worth more but he insisted on the price as it was "technically, a mid terrace", despite being only in a block of three,in a very sought after lane, oak lead light windows & doors & lots of period features. “DISCIMINATED FOR NOT USING FOX AND SONS FINANCIAL ADVISOR”

I tried to purchase 2 properties from Fox & Sons on 2 different occasions but both times i was guzumped after my offfer was accepted. From the start Fox & Sons were pushy and keen for me to use their Financial Advisor. They advised offers are only taken seriously if i used their FA. Their financial advisor tried to obtain a principle in agrrement with 3 mortgage lenders and without my knowledge. But failed to obtain a mortgage. “Fox & Sons in Eastbourne are a totally unprofessional...”

Fox & Sons in Eastbourne are a totally unprofessional company. There object is to sign you up for the initial fee, which you are not told about until you are about to sign on the dotted line. In addition if you pay this amount by credit card you pay an initial 1.5%. You are not actually told this. We would have paid by cheque if we had known.
