    Good Points: Reasonably stylish in design - although "stainless steel" effect looks like metallic plastic pretending unconvicingly to look like metal. Reasonably easy to use.


    Bad Points: Compressor gave up the ghost only eighteen months after purchase. Baumatic service department hopelessly slow, inefficient and unprofessional. Manual - inadequately brief and very poorly translated into English. No high temperature / fault warning light.


    General comments: When problem occurred, the Baumatic BF256SS fridge-freezer was no longer under (1 year) guarantee, but still under warranty (parts only - five years). Baumatic informed me that calling out service engineer would involve £70 call out fee + labour. They didn't seem to grasp that being without a fridge is an emergency and could only get someone out to me 5 days later. When service engineer came, it turned out he didn't have the part, couldn't order it there and then (because "the computer was down") and couldn't tell me when he could come and fit it even when it did become available. Utterly useless!

    Unreliable product, non-existent customer service. I wouldn't recommend Baumatic to anyone, and will never buy another of their products.
