I just moved into Manchester City centre and the water had an unusually strong smell of chlorine - and I'm not usually picky with these kind of things! After a few purchases of bottled water, I went for a BRITA Elemaris jug and it sure does the trick! The water doesn't smell and now actually has a mineral-water kind of taste.
In short: good value for money, looks/feels durable and does what it says on the tin.

We did initially like the new slim design. We purchased a new Brita Filter MAXTRA. We have now tried 3 boxes of filters but we are still getting a black sediment in the bottom of the jug. We have re-filled dozens of times but problem still same. (read more)

This is not an electrical appliance. We drink a lot of water, since I am a singer and my hubby needs to keep the kidneystones at bay. We used to buy the cheap water bottles from Tesco, but they took up so much space and it was also a hassle to shop for 30 or so two litre bottles. We decided to try out a filter jug and this is the first one we've bought. It has endured well for this year, considering that it is being refilled several times every day. I used to drink bottled water until I realised it was costing me a fortune and doing my back in, bringing the stuff home. A Brita filter is far cheaper and is better for the environment (read more)
