My husband, my Mum and myself have just returned from a very enjoyable meal at the Old Feathers. We have been going to this restaurant for many years and since the new tenants have taken over this restaurant has kept the good quality ingredients to make excellent menu choices. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive.(which is very unusual and very much appreciated) The food choices on the menu are varied enough to please everyone and you get very good value for money. If you are celebrating anything which they ask when you book a table they go that extra mile by making the experience extra special. You would be hard pressed to find that anywhere else. A place my family and myself will be using on a regular basis and very much recommended.

it has been awhile since we have been to this restaurant due to changing of owner's.not much has change in-side,i can't fault the food all fresh and local produce, presentation very good staff all very friendly,i went with my husband for a anniversary meal we felt over dressed as most people who came in were very casual not sure about the ambience personnely i would like to see table cloth's this would improve the look of the restaurant no end or at least table mats when the dishes arrived it was like sitting at a plain kitchen table and the napkins were nothing special which spoilt the look, also too many ornamants on the sills with no apparant theme, i would go back but only because of the quality of the food.

Went out with family for a special meal. We turned up about 5 mins early for our table and told we had to wait. The staff were not very friendly, service very slow and they only had about 6 tables to serve. Starters ok though...soup very salty. Fish supposed to be fresh and their specialty yet it was cold, tasteless and seemed frozen. Everyone in our party 7 in total very disappointed with food, all had something different, most of food left and service. No real atmosphere and staff seemed bored and unfriendly. A waste of £140 .

We were in the area visiting a relative and had lunch, it was excellent, lots of choices, ambience first class and of course wonderful attentive staff/service. Good value for money, will certainly go again. Eating in a very large conservatory, there was ample room between the tables with a nice aspect. you do not "feel" as though you are in a pub. This establishment was once a very populer place to eat, Unfortunatly was taken over and soon went down the Pan, (excuse the pun). It has been purchased by a family that has worked extremely hard to bring it back to it's former glory. So well frequented now that we have to book sunday lunch well in advance, Food plentiful, home made, with fresh vegetables and well presented, even sunday lunch. Very friendly, helpful well mannered staff. Well done, Mick & Linda.

went for 50th birthday and was pleased that they had added a nice touch by adding some table decorations and also special 50 napkins. Food was plentiful and also cooked freshly and certainly was home made. Will certainly visit again.

we were abit dubious as we had a dreadful meal last time but we were very pleasantly surprised with the new owners changes. They couldn't have been nicer, when i booked i said it was for our anniversay and they decorated the table for us. What a lovely touch ! As my vegi grand-daughter cann't eat mushrooms she was able to choose off the main menu which was cooked fresh, nothing seemed frozen as you get in so many restaurants now adays.Excelent service and great food, couldn't have been better. Recomend it to anyone and def go back again. Good luck for the future.

Since the new owners took over, my family and I have been to The Old Feathers twice in 3 months. The owners and staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The menu is varied and suits all (which goes a long way with two teenagers!) The food is excellent and I highly recommend this establishment.

Only take notice of reviews for the last year. This restaurant has changed hands. The food is freshly cooked, reasonably priced and absolutely exquisite. I cannot praise it highly enough. Starters, mains and sweets, all A1. My friend said it was the best fillet steak he had ever tasted and I am looking forward to tasting the fish next time. I will not be eating anywhere else anytime soon. I want to try everything on this menu. I really was THAT IMPRESSED. Service was impeccable too!

We have just enjoyed a lovely freshly cooked meal at the Old Feathers. The young couple who run it go out of their way to ensure you have everything you want and produce an excellent service and food. We will certainly go back. Plenty of choice on the menu and good portions, and ALL the sweets are home made!

Excellent, home cooked food. Steak was done perfectly and my lasagane was trully excellent. There was a good variety of food to choose from on the menu and vegaetarian options, and the chef tries his best to source locally. Wine list very well priced and a good selection. Staff friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was spacious and airy. The whole place has had a good makeover and is well worth a visit, in fact we're going back again this week as we enjoyed it so much.

NO LONGER A CARVERY!!!! The Old Feathers is no longer serving carvery, but instead is a english restaurant run by the chef who has his polite, and bubbly family out front. Their menu serves fresh fish, local meats and lots of homemade items.
My husband and I had the beer battered Cod, and after seeing the reviews of it being a carvery had to make a point of posting here. It was the best Cod & chips i have had in years. It was quite at first and i think they need to advertise better because we thought it was still a carvery.
We will certainly be going back again.

SHAME YOU DID NOT ENJOY YOURSELVES HERE. WAS IT THE SAME PLACE THE REST OF US HAVE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED?
