Good Points: Outside and inside styling, no other compares, not a real estate , but buy an Alfa you get sports not practicality, even though they try to compromise
Bad Points: Done 49,000 towing a caravan every now and again, engine replacement. Since then on and no towing, new engine has done 29,000 and NO problems. Estate ... "My *rse"
General comments: Keep to service schedules and don't push it too hard and the Alfa Romeo 156 Sportwagon is a dream to drive with all the sporty sounding engine, good specs and styling. Mpg I've found is similar to any Mondeo or Vauxhall, driven with frugality, I've had nearly 40mpg, pushing it when I needed to as well. Other than a engine change, they has been no problems elsewhere, would I buy again? ... "Yes", already planning my move on a 147 5 door. Just to add, I would fully recommend an independent Alfa Romeo Dealer after warranty the costs alone are nearly halfed !
