Good Points: Fast freeze switch, big fridge area, temperature zones in fridge, easy to manouvre (2 wheels), quiet operation, 94L freezer storage
Bad Points: Freezer boxes are not hinged at the front, so you have to remove the box from the freezer to add/take food. Not many options for rearranging the shelves in the door. The freezer elements are old-fashioned wire ones, not flat metal as in other manufacturer's machines (Hotpoint), so defrosting (yes - it's NOT frost free) will be a bit annoying.
General comments: After much online searching for my next fridge freezer, I decided on this Bosch. I already own a Bosch classix washer/dryer, so I knew the quality of goods I was buying. I bought the Bosch kgv28325 from coop online. It was just about the cheapest price I could find at £201. Delivery was £20. So £221 altogether. I could choose the delivery date & it was confirmed both by email (the prior afternoon) and using the carrier's (Feenix) website. The delivery guys were fine & unpacked the item for my inspection.
Anyway back to the fridge/freezer. I chose this Bosch as it was the cheapest one they do, with the biggest freezer capacity for the price I could find.
The summer/winter (fast freeze) switch is fantastic - it cools the freezer to -35 degC and the fridge base to -10 degC. Although you can get the same effect by turning the temperature dial to 5 (max). I have so far found the best setting for the temperature dial (0 to 5) is 3. This gives 4 degC in the fridge and -25 degC in the freezer. At setting 4 it gives -5 degC in the fridge and -30 in the freezer.
The fridge also sports temperature 'zones' higher at the top, lower at the bottom. I think this is a natural effect of cool air falling - but anyway it's nice to know (arrows in the fridge) exactly where certain food types should be placed. The glass shelves are very good. They allow the contents of the veg baskets to be viewed from above, so you don't have to take them out. There are 6 shelf slots and 3 shelves (including the one covering the veg baskets).
In the fridge door, there is also a slideable bottle holder/divider/thingy so things which may move when the door is opened can be trapped. One thing I noticed about the documentation, was that there was no guarantee card - so I went online to Bosch website and registered the item there. So I now have a 2 year p&l guarantee too. Oh - you can also buy (in conjunction with General Electric) an extra 1,2 or 3 year guarantee. But I couldn't tell if it ran concurrently with the 2 year mfr gtee or was in addition to it. It was also on the expensive side - at the end of the day all I paid was about £200, if it packs up in 5 years, I'll just buy another one - rather than shell out on a £150 guarantee. All in all, very pleased with it & very glad I bought it.
