I have been ordering models for many years from Wonderland Models and have always had a first class service with speedy delivery. Goods are always well packed and if an item has been temporarily out of stock then they always email me to let me know of any likely delay. We ordered a radio control car from these guys as they seemed like a good store from the look of the pages. They looked like experts so seemed like a good decision. I now feel very wrong. Wonderland Models was one of the only places in the UK where they had the Tamiya model I was after and in stock. On initially calling them to check availability, I was assured they did have it in stock, but in order to purchase the model at the web price I'd have to order online, which I duly did without any problems. I checked out WOnderland on the internet and was suckered into visiting as it said it had been in business over 30 years. I wanted to buy a couple of spare parts for my RC yacht plus a new radio. As I use on line ordering from several other companies, and none of them stipulate this sending everything vie Royal Mail. I was sent the wrong item so I contacted them to make arrangements to return the item. I was told that despite the image and stock number being completely different on the item I had received that it wasn't the wrong item. I had to argue the point to get them to agree to cover the return postage. I wanted to send it back by recorded post, but they insisted that I use the 'cheapest method possible' - second class. Living in Edinburgh, Wonderland Models is my local hobby shop. I have been a regular customer there for quite a few years now and have good to know the shop and its staff fairly well. After reading the reviews for Wonderland Models I though I'd address some of the comments with what I know. As other reviewers have said, they will sell you something via their website with no knowledge of how much stock they have, if they have stock and when they might be getting it in. This means you can buy something from their website and you might be waiting weeks or months. I was genuinely surprised to see all the bad reviews of this company. I have made quite a few orders to them in the past and have always received everything in perfect condition,on time.
It is true that they should have stock levels shown on site but a quick phone call is all it takes. Additionally, this allows the company the opportunity to advise on any product if necessary.

Well, if you have spent over 100 days trying to chase them for a refund for their picking error, I'm sure you will have second thoughts. I ordered my car on the 11th Nov for a Christmas present. Not only did they send me the wrong car, I never received the correct one that I cancelled my order in Jan after waiting 2 months. They admitted that it was their fault on sending the wrong item, and promised me a refund of my postage if I mailed it back to them. Now I have no car, a ruined Christmas, $17.44 out of pocket for return postage and over 3 months of distress in chasing a refund which they are completely ignoring. If you were in my shoes, would you think it appropriate for me to give them a good review? which aspect of my experience warrants good feedback?

However what REALLY annoys me is that they don't tell you if something is out of stock when you order online. Watch out when ordering items online. They include the delivery charge in the order total then use this total to calculate the deivery charge!! sounds odd but its true.
