“The company who are only interested in money !”

I decided to have a conservatory made by the best , Everest ? How wrong I was to entertain this shower of liers . Their brochure said that there was no site conditions that would stop the construction. Yet they could not make the base because our house was built on a raft ? They then recommended a builder who could and , as we knew no better , decided to go ahead. I have had Everest windows and doors since 1976 and they are as perfect as the day that they were installed. When someone threw a brick threw my window Legal and General said that I had to have another company Evander to replace them. Evander replacements cracked within a matter of days and the reason being that they had forced the glass into the original frames and damaged them. “Initial fitters were good”

We spent over £12000 having bi folding door fitted. Initially they were very good but after haveing to call Everest back a couple of times because the door dropped the handle broke and we had to wait 8 weeks for a replacement during the whole summer we could not use our doors as Everest do not keep any spare handles in stock. My parents signed contracts with them in April. New front doors/ porch. The kit arrived, not designed to the agreed spec. Everest promised they'd rectify it by July. Not only has the job not been done, they won't even return calls to explain. “Really excellant”

I don't often write reviews but I felt on this occasion that it was crucial that I shared what a fantastic experience we had with Everest Home Improvements. Earlier this week one if Everest Consultants came to see us. She arrived on time and well prepared. This review seems highly suspicious. Firstly this "customer" has had not windows fitted, but has only has a sales visit. Secondly, how do you rate a window company when you don't have their windows fitted.
I suggest that this isnt a genuine review, but if it is, then it should not be weighted equally with reviews of the full service.

“wind blows in!”

paid £3,500 for a new back door and side screen in June this year, within 6 weeks the door wouldn't latch and therefore couldn't be locked! Engineers were sent and we were told that the hinges had dropped due to a change in temperature! I bought the door because we were told that it formed an airtight seal when locked to keep out the draughts well it doesn't! wouldn't recommend sorry to say! “extremely bad customer experience”

Door pane not as described. windows did not deliver promised functionality. locks were not high security, which I was told was "standard". the door leaks. customer experience in brochure is described as "exceptional". they fail to tell you this means exceptionally bad! been fighting them for 4 months now. looks like it is going to court. so they are going to spend money on court fees rather then sorting out a genuine customer complaint. very frustrating and upsetting. I borught a house that required refurbishment througout including windows. The sales person was very friendly and really pushed us to to purchase windows and a conservatory and also gave us "mates rates" which was still more than double that other firms we found out later. We ordered replacement windows on April 22nd with an installation date of the week beginning 23rd June. We explained we would be away on holiday until June 16th but thought that would give Everest plenty of time to get organised. The salesman promised everything would go as planned and that he would be the project manager to ensure this, including being there at the end of installation to sign off the project. “Rotten after service”

First set of hardwood doors fitted 2011 £4565. Showed daylight through small cracks in first year. Feb 2013 Replacement attempted but one door was scratched. Inspected by engineer. July 2013 Attempt made to deal with scratch left it much worse. Obvious to all callers.August 2013 engineer recommended new door. Dec 2013 approved, praise the lord. “Obscene quotation”

I've just had an Everest salesman quote for 5 windows (2 of which are small) and 2 doors with no side panels. Before people start falling out of their chairs I would like to point out the salesman was very pleasant and I had no issues with him. The quotation started at £18,000 and then dropped to a still mind boggling £12,000!!!!! I have based my views on my experience of dealing Everest windows, albeit a quotation, this is still something worthy of comment as your interacting with someone.
The facts are clear for me, Everest quoted for times more than their leading competitors, they actually started at £18,000 and miraculously got down to £12,000, this is for 2 doors and 5 windows, I have done plenty of research and the materials used by all the leading competitors is as good and if not better than Everest.
My biggest concern with the quotation is the fact that there are unsuspecting people out there who do not know any better and could fall into this trap and get essentially ripped off, this is something trading standards are already investigating into with Everest and I have the right to point this out to people.
I'm pleased to say after using one the leading competitors the service and quality of the product is excellent, a far cry from looking at the majority of the reviews about Everest.

Absolutely shocking customer service. Lovely door, except that it came damaged. These are 'the best' and you pay for it! More than double the cost of most of their competitors you would think they could provide the service with it. Our door was fitted 3 months ago, I have taken time off work repeatedly to meet with their engineers and no-one shows. The area manager is particularly useless. Still fight with after 16 months windows do no lock correctly can hear road noise they have been out to fix them at lest eight times still the same . All their engineers told us the windows were the wrong design for the window opening, which was advice from their design engineer… Read Full Review

“Everest "home improvements" build dangerous conservatories”

We purchased an Everest conservatory around 4-5 years ago which, within 2 years or so, developed heavy leaks (some near power sockets and electrical equipment) which Everest were initially unwilling and eventually unable to solve. We are now in discussions with Everest's lawyers, as Everest have never tried to get in touch, so this offer above is simply a publicity stunt to try to sound like they care. Think of this: 3 years of leaks and falling glass panels, endless phone calls and letters from us, no response whatsoever from Everest. You're not fooling anyone.

Fit the best? What a joke.

Oh, I should just add: they seem to be dropping in these generic responses to many of our complaints. Of course, once you actually contact them they will not help at all, they are just doing this for show. A truly horrible company, don't believe them.

Hi,

Firstly, I am very sorry to hear about your situation. I too, had the most horrific experience with Everest regarding the seriously poor handling of the finance package for my conservatory. Details of which I cannot go into for legal reasons, but let's just say it was such a serious mishandling of a case that those staff members involved no longer work for the company.

It is a long and very serious story which brought me close to a nervous breakdown. They even ignored my solicitor letters!

I finally sorted the whole sad situation out myself by instigating a Section 75 complaint against Everest under the Consumer Credit Act through Barclays Partner Finance who sorted it out in 10 days and demanded meetings with Everest to explain to them what happened.

I was given some compensation and had a letter of apology from the CEO. This was finally the end of my 10 month nightmare.

I don't know whether you have a finance package or paid for your conservatory upfront, but in any event, you should be covered under this Act or something similar as you were provided faulty goods.

I am afraid Everest will not listen until they are faced with breaches of Consumer Credit Acts. What saved me also was good solid notes of all telephone conversations and correspondence which proved to be their downfall!

“Poor Quality of Service”

Previously had gutters, soffits fitted to house. Good Job done. Ordered full replacement of windows and patio doors. (£12000) Patio doors fitted upside down, large bay window ill fitting so bowed and glass cracked. Holes left in side of wall and a very rough finish. Examined by Everest to be totally replaced.
