“ Pricing Double Glazing”

Written on: 14/03/2015 by TimMilburn (1 review written)

I found Everest very expensive with their quote for my property approx £23000.00 more expensive than various other reputable companies who i had quotes off. Then when i stated that i was not interested two things happened. 1/ Within a matter of minutes the quote dropped by £16000.00 [still not interested]. 2/ It was then indicated to me how easy it would be for someone to break into my property if i did not get the new double glazing fitted which to me was classed as scare mongering tactics… Read Full Review

“Customer Care, What Customer Care???? ”

Written on: 12/03/2015 by h wakeford (1 review written)

We have purchased windows and doors over many years for a number of properties from different manufacturers including Everest. We moved into a house the occupier had Everest to fit all of the property with UPVC windows, I noticed that two of the windows had a fault with the locking shoot bolts, one opening handle would not close the window completely. I approached Everest hoping I could purchase two new handles and locks to make our home more secure and stop the draughts entering the rooms… Read Full Review

“15 months and still not complete”

Written on: 02/03/2015 by Garrion48 (2 reviews written)

The conservatory has not yet got a Building warrant - latest is that it needs to be demolished and re-built. Contacting Everest Customer Service is a one way street - never receive a formal response. There are a number of issues with lack of compliance with Building Control requirements and although I keep getting promises - Even from the Customer Service Director - nothing happens… Read Full Review

“Shoddy workmanship with no guarantee”

Written on: 07/02/2015 by rambs (1 review written)

Moved into a house with 5 year old Everest windows. Removed some ivy to find the wall above one of the downstairs windows was cracked and collapsing due to no lintel having been fitted. I contacted Everest to correct the problem under their transferable guarantee, which after some exchanged correspondence, they reluctantly agreed to do. I then discovered the Everest fitted guttering was leaking near a joint. I investigated to find that the guttering had been cut a centimetre short of the rubber… Read Full Review

“Useless windows”

Written on: 05/02/2015 by Treaoney (2 reviews written)

Wish I had read these reviews before I ordered windows from Everest, they use to be good like 30 years ago but now they are just like all the rest - rubbish! I ordered 2 new windows complete with apatures, my only criteria was that the outside of both windows could be easily cleaned from indoors as one of the windows would have a 6 meter deep conservatory under it so no chance of putting up a ladder. I went with Everest because I knew they did tilt and turn and that type of window is easy to… Read Full Review

“Secondary Glazing Fiasco”

Written on: 01/02/2015 by O'Connell88 (1 review written)

Ordered secondary windows for listed property. Took some time to get order placed as the surveyors / sales persons were not able to answer queries about how sliding sash secondary windows could be cleaned. After making the order, some of windows delivered 8 inches too tall. Taken away to be 'remade' rather than replaced. Remade windows were not square - one side taller than other - very noticeable visibly when fitted - photos taken. Frames also not straight, with distinct bowing to sides of… Read Full Review

“I wish I'd read these reviews before :-(”

Written on: 31/01/2015 by Dimbrd (1 review written)

Had Triple Glazed windows fitted to the front of my house in February 2014. Six average sized units at £8k. Decided on the new all singing and dancing triple glazing as we live on a hill and get full force southwesterly winds most of the time. How I wish I read the reviews... Waiting for yet another person to come round 12 months on. The windows are all draughty around the corners of the beading; the wind whistles in all the time when wind blows from the south- enough to 'flap the… Read Full Review

“Very pleased with my bifold doors”

Written on: 30/01/2015 by Alex_C (1 review written)

I recently purchased some aluminium bifold doors and a single aluminium door in the same style from Everest, for my new kitchen extension. The surveyor was prompt and knowledgeable and liaised directly with my builders on the sizes and took me through all the paperwork so I had clarity. There was a slight hiccup with pricing after the surveyor visit but this was resolved quickly and easily and the original price stood. I was also able to make a late change to the configuration and the surveyor… Read Full Review

I tried to book an appt to fit into our lives as wanted all the discussion finished before My Husband came home from work at 4-15pm as He starts work at 5am. Our Dinner time because of my medication has to be 5,-5-30pm. They insisted He should be there even though He does not care which windows/doors/patterns/colour we had.Design We already knew what We wanted & had previously agreed on together.Easy! No, appt had to be 3pm, for measurements then a 'Talk' with my Husband (He was not amused being… Read Full Review

“IF YOU WANT THE BEST - DO NOT FIT EVEREST”

Written on: 12/01/2015 by Myers37 (1 review written)

EVEREST WHERE DO I START. I BUILT MY OWN 5 BEDROOM HOME SOME YEARS BACK AND DECIDED I WANTED THE BEST WINDOWS. I PURCHASED 21 WINDOWS, 3 FRENCH DOORS AND A GLASS BACK DOOR. THE SURVEYOR HAD MEASURED ONE BATHROOM WINDOW INCORRECTLY AND THE GLASS IN ANOTHER WINDOW WAS INCORRECT, BUT THIS WAS RECTIFIED. I HAD TO CALL FOR SERVICE ON SEVERAL WINDOWS OVER THE NEXT FEW YEARS. AFTER ABOUT SIX YEARS (I HAVE A 10 YEARS GUARANTEE) THE TRIM ON ALL WINDOWS STARTED TO COME AWAY. I CONTACTED EVEREST AND… Read Full Review

“Customer Satifaction not a priority”

Written on: 05/01/2015 by Rhea55 (1 review written)

Our 25 year old double glazing needed replacing and this time we thought we would use Everest as they are reputed to be the best and being one of the biggest the warrantee would last. The worst mistake we have ever made. I expected the "old fashioned" sales pitch of high price and get approx. 33% knocked off and that would be about right. Patio Doors and a further 6 windows were fitted in Sept 2014. One was fitted broken and another with a scratch between the 2 panes of glass. Most of the… Read Full Review

“False advertising from sales trademan ”

Written on: 31/12/2014

Promotions Officer came round told me and my husband that the door was so secure, that all you had to do is lift the handle from the inside and it would lock so no one could open it from the outside, to my surprise a few days later it was opened from the outside, had an engineer come and was told that those types of locks don't even exists for these doors. I am so angry no one will speak to me as they are all shut. what a load of liars. Now I don't even believe the right door was installed. I… Read Full Review

“FALSE ADVERTISING OF DISCOUNTS”

Written on: 17/12/2014 by 385Templeton (1 review written)

They advertise at 35% to 50% off all year round! Therfore that is not a discount but mearly the ordinary price. This is misrepresentation and illegal. The discount does not exist anyway because they show you an initial price at 3 times the ordinalry value of the goods and then half it with pretend discounts and pretending to call the boss (that's called a phone close; This is misrepresentation and illegal) to make it cheaper. They offer lifetime guarantees which mean nothing as they only last… Read Full Review

“Your men don't turn up”

Written on: 13/12/2014 by Aries67 (1 review written)

I am really angry regarding the fact that the door knocker was not included in the furniture pack for the men to install. Also, the man didn't turn up to fit it when he said he would. All in all what with so called breakdown of vehicle so that the door wasn't fitted on the day we were told and subsquent broken promises I certainly wouldn't recommend your Company. Having said that I am thrilled with the quality of the door and the fitting of same by your workmen… Read Full Review

“Not worth the time, trouble or money buying from Everest”

Written on: 12/12/2014 by lynvia (1 review written)

We wanted replacement doors and windows to last a long time so thought we'd go to a reputable company as Everest are supposed to be. We had them done in March 2012 and paid more than other companies quoted but went on reputation - We wish we had gone for a "cheaper" option instead! I have a blood condition that makes me cold even in summer so effective double glazing was paramount for my health. We live on quite a busy road and have to keep checking if the windows are closed because they… Read Full Review

“Great products, terrible customer service = bad choice”

Written on: 07/12/2014 by Lzirpolo (1 review written)

We signed up after a very hard, painful sell of windows, doors and a conservatory in April 2014. In August our windows and doors ordeal ended, the key word here is 'ordeal'. We now had the conservatory to embrace and this started in September and it's now the 7th December and it's not finished. Mistakes made, new windows made, false promises given oh and now we have a fitter that is sick and we have to wait until he's better, oh this could be days, weeks or months, reading between the lines… Read Full Review
