“Leaking flat roof and Everest deny it's their fault!”

Written on: 19/08/2014 by JHJL (1 review written)

I had new windows, doors and 2 flat roofs installed by Everest in Jan 2013 at considerable cost. In Spring this year, we started getting rain through one of the flat roofs. After 3 visits from Everest people, the matter is unresolved. Their attitude is flippant, and they insist that the problem is with our walls/chimney/gutter - anything other than the roof they installed! This is despite the fact that the rain is clearly coming through the roof. We now have a badly stained ceiling and wall in… Read Full Review

“wind blows in!”

Written on: 18/08/2014 by magpies1951 (1 review written)

paid £3,500 for a new back door and side screen in June this year, within 6 weeks the door wouldn't latch and therefore couldn't be locked! Engineers were sent and we were told that the hinges had dropped due to a change in temperature! I bought the door because we were told that it formed an airtight seal when locked to keep out the draughts well it doesn't! wouldn't recommend sorry to say! The door itself looks nice but it should do what it says on the tin!!… Read Full Review

“Diabolical”

Written on: 13/08/2014

They should be investigated. We are renovating and had a salesman round to give us a quote. You might want to sit down, £75.000 for pvc sash windows and then amazingly managed to drop to his best offer of £25.000. We've already had 2 quotes for same sash pvc windows coming in at £18.000 and £15.000 so how on earth can Everest justify £75,000. Rip off merchants and unlike us who wont be using them, someone out there will fall for there sales talk… Read Full Review

Same happened to us yesterday. We were quoted £23,000 for 12 normal casement windows at first but with Customer discount and sign on the night blah blah came down to £14000 but I honestly think if we'd named our price it would have come in even lower. Like you we had been quoted under £10,000 with another company and that included 4 expensive sash windows! Really hard sell from the salesman and when we refused to commit he threw his toys out the pram and got really shirty and quite rude. I just wanted him out of the house in the end as it was becoming very unpleasant. Appalling attitude and would never use them.

“Appalling”

Written on: 12/08/2014 by Aryanna214 (1 review written)

We had windows (triple glazed) & a door fitted in our 4 bed house in February, we had furniture damaged by the installers, frames damaged on installation, a second set of installers had to come to finish the job, then the 'service' department took over to try to sort the mess out, the door frame size is wrong, and is currently falling apart, so far half the sealed units have been replaced due to faulty manufacture, still waiting for more to be supplied, the openers have all had to be 'adjusted'… Read Full Review

“DO NOT USE”

Written on: 11/08/2014 by CEnslin (1 review written)

I signed up with Everest to get Secondary Glazing for 3 large windows. Thought it best to go with the large company so that if I did encounter any issues, the guarantees and the customer service, as well as product quality would be great. Well, I was wrong!!! 1) The day they arranged for installation - they did not arrive. I called 2 hours later to find out where they were, and apparently they were unable to make it - the answer from the manager was that he was only going to call me when he… Read Full Review

“extremely bad customer experience”

Written on: 06/08/2014 by shadow72 (1 review written)

Door pane not as described. windows did not deliver promised functionality. locks were not high security, which I was told was "standard". the door leaks. customer experience in brochure is described as "exceptional". they fail to tell you this means exceptionally bad! been fighting them for 4 months now. looks like it is going to court. so they are going to spend money on court fees rather then sorting out a genuine customer complaint. very frustrating and upsetting. I would not recommend… Read Full Review

“ALL THEY WANT IS MONEY”

Written on: 02/08/2014 by O'Grady215 (1 review written)

I borught a house that required refurbishment througout including windows. The sales person was very friendly and really pushed us to to purchase windows and a conservatory and also gave us "mates rates" which was still more than double that other firms we found out later. He also recommened a building team and said he wouldnt mind looking over the whole project for us for as small fee which we agreed to. the everest serice was very fast but after a couple of years things started to go faulty… Read Full Review

“Very poor service”

Written on: 20/07/2014 by 434Wooten (1 review written)

We ordered replacement windows on April 22nd with an installation date of the week beginning 23rd June. We explained we would be away on holiday until June 16th but thought that would give Everest plenty of time to get organised. The salesman promised everything would go as planned and that he would be the project manager to ensure this, including being there at the end of installation to sign off the project. Once he secured the order we have seen nothing of him. Through him we specified that… Read Full Review

“Obscene quotation”

Written on: 08/07/2014 by Grant329 (1 review written)

I've just had an Everest salesman quote for 5 windows (2 of which are small) and 2 doors with no side panels. Before people start falling out of their chairs I would like to point out the salesman was very pleasant and I had no issues with him. The quotation started at £18,000 and then dropped to a still mind boggling £12,000!!!!! To say I was shocked is an understatement, I really cannot believe how this company can justify charging such an obscene amount for something which is the same… Read Full Review

It's extraordinarily unfair to negatively review a company based simply on a quotation they provided, having not had any work done.

I have based my views on my experience of dealing Everest windows, albeit a quotation, this is still something worthy of comment as your interacting with someone.
The facts are clear for me, Everest quoted for times more than their leading competitors, they actually started at £18,000 and miraculously got down to £12,000, this is for 2 doors and 5 windows, I have done plenty of research and the materials used by all the leading competitors is as good and if not better than Everest.
My biggest concern with the quotation is the fact that there are unsuspecting people out there who do not know any better and could fall into this trap and get essentially ripped off, this is something trading standards are already investigating into with Everest and I have the right to point this out to people.
I'm pleased to say after using one the leading competitors the service and quality of the product is excellent, a far cry from looking at the majority of the reviews about Everest.

“Appalling customer service”

Written on: 03/07/2014 by mittiemama (2 reviews written)

Absolutely shocking customer service. Lovely door, except that it came damaged. These are 'the best' and you pay for it! More than double the cost of most of their competitors you would think they could provide the service with it. Our door was fitted 3 months ago, I have taken time off work repeatedly to meet with their engineers and no-one shows. The area manager is particularly useless. All my complaints and attempts at contact have been brushed off or ignored.Extremely disappointed with… Read Full Review

“Everest "home improvements" build dangerous conservatories”

Written on: 12/06/2014 by timcclayton (2 reviews written)

We purchased an Everest conservatory around 4-5 years ago which, within 2 years or so, developed heavy leaks (some near power sockets and electrical equipment) which Everest were initially unwilling and eventually unable to solve. Soon afterwards a large roof glass panel collapsed in without warning, nearly hitting me on the head. Within a year another one had done the same, despite them assuring us that this was “almost unheard of”. Despite them promising a replacement roof panel for the… Read Full Review

We are now in discussions with Everest's lawyers, as Everest have never tried to get in touch, so this offer above is simply a publicity stunt to try to sound like they care. Think of this: 3 years of leaks and falling glass panels, endless phone calls and letters from us, no response whatsoever from Everest. You're not fooling anyone.

Fit the best? What a joke.

Oh, I should just add: they seem to be dropping in these generic responses to many of our complaints. Of course, once you actually contact them they will not help at all, they are just doing this for show. A truly horrible company, don't believe them.

Hi,

Firstly, I am very sorry to hear about your situation. I too, had the most horrific experience with Everest regarding the seriously poor handling of the finance package for my conservatory. Details of which I cannot go into for legal reasons, but let's just say it was such a serious mishandling of a case that those staff members involved no longer work for the company.

It is a long and very serious story which brought me close to a nervous breakdown. They even ignored my solicitor letters!

I finally sorted the whole sad situation out myself by instigating a Section 75 complaint against Everest under the Consumer Credit Act through Barclays Partner Finance who sorted it out in 10 days and demanded meetings with Everest to explain to them what happened.

I was given some compensation and had a letter of apology from the CEO. This was finally the end of my 10 month nightmare.

I don't know whether you have a finance package or paid for your conservatory upfront, but in any event, you should be covered under this Act or something similar as you were provided faulty goods.

I am afraid Everest will not listen until they are faced with breaches of Consumer Credit Acts. What saved me also was good solid notes of all telephone conversations and correspondence which proved to be their downfall!

Good luck.

“Poor Quality of Service”

Written on: 03/06/2014 by KaidenCalhoun (1 review written)

Previously had gutters, soffits fitted to house. Good Job done. Ordered full replacement of windows and patio doors. (£12000) Patio doors fitted upside down, large bay window ill fitting so bowed and glass cracked. Holes left in side of wall and a very rough finish. Examined by Everest to be totally replaced. This was three months ago. Because we had to pay on completion Everest not interested in getting the repair done. One appointment missed due to other work. Offered another date which… Read Full Review

“a leaking life guaranteed flat roof!”

Written on: 01/06/2014 by milarizzo (1 review written)

I have spent 5 thousand Pounds for a fiber glass flat roof, they said life guaranteed, its been leaking from day 1 , wasn't before I had it done. I did it because the old one was quite old and as a precaution had it replaced. Choosing Everest was the worst decision I have ever taken , it was a rip off! Customer service? They do not know what it means at Everest. Spoke to head office to have the problem sorted but they have not actually done anything ,not even a call to let me know what they are… Read Full Review
