I've put about a thousand shells through my Benelli 20-gauge M2 Field ComforTech 24-inch barrel -- it is the best handling shotgun I've ever fired. Fits me perfectly, requires little maintenance, BUT it is erratic with high brass shells like Federal and Rio. Go figure.
The M2 can fire a box of 25 high brass with no problem, then fail to feed about one of every five in the next box. The problem high brass shells show a nick at the edge of the brass. I've smoothed a rough spot or two in the...

When it works it's a good gun but it has been back several times now and still does not cycle properly i have tried everything and have given up now.
if you want a reliable gun buy beretta i have an a400 which fires every time but if they were both reliable the benelli would win hands down.
I loved the gun but would never buy another one.

I use my benelli m2 for varying hare hunts. I hunt over my beagles in the most severe of winter conditions in the Adirondack state park in upstate New York. From freezing rain to below zero blizzzards my m2 has not failed me. We have a great time with interaction between hunting with our beagles on the elusive hare and now with the conclusion of each run with my m2.
To have a good time in these conditions it helps to have the best of equipment from your clothes, dogs, snowshoes and...

i am a 20 year old who hunts idaho for chukar, quail, and pheasant (and anything else that gets in the way :) ..hun,dove,etc..
just got this gun towards the end of last season (2009) and absolutely love it.
feels good throwing up to the shoulder. the comfortech system seems to really reduce recoil and also speeds up reaction time getting back on for the second shot.
second time out with this gun i bagged a triple on a covey of chukar. never have i done that before, and dont think i would be...

Amazing! The m2 is deffiently a outstanding all around gun. Frm light loads to the heavy magnum loads. The new comfortech system makes for no recoil, found it better off then the urika 2 with the ko. The gun is without a doubt a must have.the only downfall of this gun in my opinion is the price is a little steep (read more)

What a pity. Such a well put together product so badly let down by a small but highly significant oversight. Contacted the importers and they confirmed that no longer stock was made. I have just bought the gun new, am certainly NOT buying a replacement stock. One Benelli Comfortech for sale. (read more)

Just used my M2 for the first time on a Georgia Quail hunt. Probably the best investment I've made in a shotgun. It's a dream to shoot, no recoil, excellent handling and very light to carry. Didn't have any problems with ejection that I've read about. The action after two full days of hunting looked like it just came out of the box , no fouling. Was about to purchase the Ultra Light and glad I didn't. (read more)

I have owned an M2 Field for about 6 months now and I can say that I am very impressed. I used mine opening day of dove season and I could not believe the awsome performance this gun gave me. It shouldered very nicely and the recoil was minimal for a 12. This made doubles a little common that day. I have definitely become a Benelli fan,so much that I bought a Cordoba 20 gauge a couple of days ago. Will give review on this one soon. (read more)

The Benelli M2 Field Comfortech is a light gun, easy to pack and looks great. From the people I know who have had the gun and myself, we agree the gun is harder to shoulder and we think Beretta is an easier gun to shoot. I would look at the xtrema 2 beretta, much safer bet. (read more)

All the Benellis are great guns to own. In California, you will hardly ever see a used one for sale. If you do, it has been my experience that they get picked up quickly and that the price for them are nearly same as if you had bought it new. Benelli does a great job of marketing their guns and they do have great quality control. (read more)

Thought i'd update my previous review as i have had the gun for almost a year now and my last review may have been exaggerated as i had only had it a short while. That said, i have put almost 10,000 cartridges through it now with no problems, although Rio are not the best choice for this gun.
Overall, great gun, very reliable, easy to shoot and use, good patterns with 2 3/4 clear pigeon cartriges. A joy to use, and just about the easiest auto there is as far as cleaning and maintenance...

The Benelli M2 Field Comfortech is a great gun except it has problems with 3 inch heavy shot. Numerous times, while goose hunting, after the first shot, the second shell would not cycle, and I had to do it manually. This rarely happens with 2 3/4 dove loads, which is odd. (read more)

All credit to John Forsey guns in Welling, a very helpful service! if you're looking for a low recoil 12 guage the Benelli M2 Field Comfortech is the gun for you, in fact even if you aren't, it's still the gun for you!
I was looking for a replacement gun for my 20 guage as my 16th birthday approached, and I knew this was the one for me as soon as I laid hands on it. What a piece of engineering magnificence!
The reason I opted for this gun, is because of my disability, I have bery poor...
