Good Points: It's slimline, & easy enough to move into position. Also the shelves are easy to move in & out of the washer.

Bad Points: Far too many, not helped by the instuction manual not being as clear as it could be. Steer clear of this machine.

General comments: I took delivery of a on a Candy CS455 Thursday, & I tried using it on the Saturday. I did everything according to the manufacturer's instructions, but it jammed on the normal setting. I had to manually move the dial along (again, following the manufacturer's instructions), but it repeatedly jammed. After it running for almost 9 hours, I manually took it to the 'stop' indicator, switched the thing off & spent the next 20 minutes ladling water from the bottom of it. To add insult to injury, the crockery inside it wasn't even clean.

The next day I tried again, this time putting it on the economical/light setting. The same problem as before - it jammed between that & the next indicator (rinse), making an awful grinding sound. I had to move it along the dial myself. Some 8 hours later, I had to put the washer off as I was getting a headache. At least the crockery was clean this time.

I reported the problems to the service centre, & a replacement machine was brought to me a few days later. This one was much quieter, but it still gets stuck on the normal & on the economical settings, though not for as long because I'm aware of it & move the dial along. However, I shouldn't have to do that. I bought the machine so that I wouldn't have to spend so much time washing up, not so that I could use the freed-up time to stand there twiddling a dial instead.

I'm on my second washer in less than a month, & I can think of better ways to idle away my time than playing games with this one. An engineer is due to come out to see it tomorrow. If he can't fix it so that it runs properly once & for all, it's going back for a full refund. I'll do without a dishwasher until I can afford a more expensive model. Those ones have the better reviews, so it would seem that you do get what you pay for when it comes to dishwashers. This Candy was definitely not something sweet for me.
