Good Points: Beautiful and light, shiny screen, fast and came with everything that I wanted: 1GB RAM, 100GB Hard drive, ML34 1MB cache, DVD dual layer lightscribe, USB, FIREWIRE, WIRELESS & more than 2 hour use of battery. Runs cool, fan doesn't have to come on for a long time.

Bad Points: NO SERIAL PORT. The bottom case is a little flimsy, not very solid as other laptop but time will tell if it would last.

General comments: The HP Compaq Presario is my first laptop ever, I've always been an AMD fan, after looking at the reviews of AMD Turion I decided this is the one for me. I got it for under $799 after rebate @ Fry's electronics. This laptop is like a potent portable desktop, well it's not as fast as my AMD XP 2500+ barton core with SATA 7200RPM drives. This fujitsu hard drive only spins at 4200 RPM as designed. Windows XP 64 or NOT?
I tried the XP 64 on one partition and I had to search to get all the drivers for it, after all said and done, it's slower than the Windows XP 32 bit that comes with it so I uninstall the XP 64. Don't waste your time on the XP64.
Here is my test, since I make home movies a lot due to having little baby at home.
DVDLAB PRO 1.5- Compiling 3.3GB DVD video with motion Menu & chapters
    V2575US windows XP = 17:48 minutes
    V2575US windows XP 64 = 18 minutes
    Desktop 2500+ Barton w/sata 7200 RPM drive 1GB RAM = 13:25 minutes.
Both desktop & laptop running @ 1800 MHZ FSB.
The time difference is the RPM of the drives 4200RPM(ATA) vs 7200RPM(SATA)
The access speed on drives are the same ~ 42MB/sec vs 46MB/sec.

I'm really happy with this laptop. I could have paid $100.00 more to get the 17" or 15'4" screen, but then it's not very portable to me, the 14" is perfect, nice and light and widescreen.
